I have had mine for a number of years now. When in the market for one, it’s really important that it has a full service history with oil changes undertaken at less than 10k miles, and not the recommended 12k miles. Because of the way the “v” is shaped, the M156 platform suffers from oil bleed which means there can be quite a bit of wear on the valve train on start up, and why it’s well documented that these engines suffer from premature camshaft, lifters and camshaft adjuster wear. A big ticket cost to set right. These issues usually manifest themselves in mechanical ticking sound or rattle on start up (indicating worn camshaft adjusters). Always recommended to get a specialist to view the car one is wanting to buy to flush out any impending big bills..

I currently own an RS3 which is the dream car for most people I know, but I just keep staring and wanting one of these, I love how these sound, that beautiful 6.2 AMG V8! This will be my next car for sure

Best car I've ever owned. Got myself the ultimate sleeper. A silver 2011 estate. Complete tyre shredder and still room for 2 dogs and a baby seat. Shredded a set of Pirelli P Zero tyres in 1700 miles. Michelin PS4S on now and they are a hundred times better. 14mpg round town £380 for an oil change from Mercedes or £70 in oil and parts (genuine Mercedes) and cheaper via an Mercedes indy. Everyone should own one at some stage, they aren't that bad to run.

Spot on,love my coupe and wish I'd got an estate now, They are fantastic cars but not for the wallet shy, Not often you see an estate knocking on your bumper wanting to overtake.

Moved up from a stage 2 a45 to a 2017 c63s coupe and i must say the jump up in fuel is crazy, oil change was £29 a ltr and they hold 9lts also rear pilot 4s tyres are north of £250 a piece🤦🏻 but its very fun to drive

I had a 2012 C63 anniversary 125 edition, I bought it on sound alone and spec. Unfortunately after almost two years of ownership and proper maitanence an oil leak occured and must had hit the headers and the car went up in smoke. I'd love.another but it seems it's a common problem with many people on the FB group suffering the same issue. The oil leak was by the gearbox on mine. It was right at the start of covid and I don't know whether to get another or just get something cheap and cheerful. Do keep an eye out for anything that smells renotelyy oily and obviously smokey, I'd hate for someone else's to go up in smoke !

Why such low mpg. I used to cane mine and get 15, driving to London from bath in the m4 I'd get 30mpg.

@@Castlerushdairy mines the W204 not W205, it’s all town driving and I do like to give it some right foot once the engines warm of course. Just checked now, over the last 289 miles it’s averaged 11.6, slight improvement from 9 months ago

I had a w211 E63 and a c219 cls63 both saloons both sold for profit but they cost alot to run definitely but you get it back in residuals if you buy wise!

Rs3 front pads even the cheapo pads will do you £120 pads alone, also found the rs3 not too bad on fuel, m4 Iv got now is shite on fuel can’t comment on the c63

Don’t have exhaust control so start up is always loud. Comfort mode keeps the revs down and changes up early so it’s as quite as it can be.

These things must make some people bankrupt 😬. Guzzles through fuel and high tax and I'd think maintenance. Only pro thing is the sound and performance

I'd never knock the sound and presence of this car but if you want one but can't justify the running costs, get yourself a 2018 m240i all the performance for a fraction of the costs, it will drive, steer, corner far better than the C63.
