@@deemity7557 , I know that but guess what there was a time the Chiefs fans were sick of teams like the Patriots, Ravens, Steelers, Broncos. Every team has been sick of that one team. It just took longer for the Chiefs to be that team that people couldn’t stand.

@deemity7557 2 күн бұрын
@@derekmathews1557 eh. Just the Patriots really. Baltimore won 2 and had 12 year stretches between each, Colts only won one, Broncos only won 1 with Manning and perhaps had one of the most embarrassing SB loses in NFL history for fans that hate the Donkeys. The two teams that got close to that were the Giants (who are viewed sympathetically because of who they beat both times) and Pittsburgh who almost got three but fell short and always lost to the Pats in the playoffs. I understand why the Chiefs are hated but this story is just ridiculous. When have we ever started seriously discussing a qb retirement at age 28? It’s like Florio is just trying to put that out into the universe. Of course 28 is followed by 29 and then by 30. Either way you slice it, betting on Patrick to retire before 40 is a bad bet considering that his motivates are clearly to surpass Brady. Dude will play either until he surpasses Brady in every way or until he physically cannot.

Yeah, Mahomes will be 29, because that's how time works, and, yeah, he'll eventually retire, but why are we talking about this now? I'd understand if Mahomes had a history of major injuries or concussions, but he's missed, like, five games in his career. With the way he plays and takes care of himself, barring some major injury, Mahomes is probably going to play, at minimum, another 8 or 9 years.

One percent of their money would suffice me for 10 years of my life and we’re complaining that they’re not paid enough? We act like they’re gonna go into poverty if they’re not giving more than $60 million a year from their team when they’re awesome making tens of millions from endorsements every year

I believe that Mahomes has won three Super Bowls in seven years. I also believe he wants to win more than Tom Brady. I’m going to say 2030. If he continues to win Super Bowls at the same rate he would maybe get his eighth around then as he wins about every other year, maybe 2032. Of course there are all kinds of things that could happen by then. All NFL players are at risk of career-ending injuries on every down. The Chiefs could become an also-ran too if their players get old or retire.

100M a year.... No way. He is great, but we live in a salary cap era. If he was making 100M a year, KC could have about 3 NFL players on the field with him and 48 guys who would barely make the practice squad on other teams. Pat would be sacked every other play and his career would be over in 3 years. He is set for life and simply does not need more cash. He gets tons fo endorsements and he can pursue his dreams of winning an obscene number of Super Bowls. If his home life is good, he quite literally has life by the balls and would be a fool to tamper iwth any of it.

Stop this Florio, Mahomes wants to have all the records. At his current pace he will tie Brady on playoff wins by the time he is 37, about the same time his current contract is up. He is averaging 2.5 per year, and Mahomes only needs 20 more to tie Brady, or 8 seasons. He is on pace to tie Brady while being 8 years younger than when Brady retired. I think some of the Brady career records are going to be really tough to catch, since they are more about longevity than being the best QB. Passing yards, he needs nearly 61,000 to catch up, which is well into Patrick's 40 at his current rate. Passing TDs might be doable, Patrick has 219 or averaging about 36 a year, Brady is 430 ahead right now, so at his current pace, Mahomes needs about 12 years, which would still mean he is under 40. Given how hard those records are to assail, the playoff wins and Super Bowl wins records look attainable at this point.

That was the difference. Now Incoming ref excuse… let me hear it. 😂

It'll never happen. His wife is like Cap Rooney's wife in any given Sunday. She loves the limelight. She'll kick Patrick into the Arrowhead every Sunday.

Wow dude… ya no one thinks any player is going to play forever- but how do you NOT see your consistent anti-Chiefs/Mahomes takes (check your own history- Simms is just too nice to call you out on it). I mean what other QB, AT AGE 28, were you counting down the days until he left the league… Manning?, Rogers?, Brady?, Breese?… don’t think so. But you are looking forward to the day when a 28 year old Mahomes hangs ‘em up, when a 66 year old Reid retires(you conjured this story too- did you do that with Belichick 8 or so years ago? or where you more like- how much longer can the Pats keep it up/when is he gonna catch Shula… hmm), so ?the center of the league turns more (IDK- guessing) costal? Most of the time I find you pretty on point but you have a weakness- you just can’t stand how good the Chiefs have been… didn’t see this with the Pats or Brady. So all we are left to assume is that you carry some irrational dislike of the Chiefs- and thats fair- a lot of fans had that dislike of the Pats. And when it comes to the Chiefs, you are consistently less a sport journalist and more just a football fan. Just own it, admit it and we can appreciate it for what it is… haters gonna hate, hate hate ;)

I know you fancy yourself an intellectual, but, come on, this is dumb. Plus, you keep saying he deserves to be paid a billion trillion dollars a year. Yes, he "deserves" it, but he knows that will wreck the rest of the talent on the team.

Florio really thinks it'd be harder for Mahomes to tell Britney to kick rocks than it was for Brady to tell Giselle? If Brady could tell his supermodel wife he wants to play, I'm pretty sure Patrick Mahomes could let his wife know he'd be happy to make a billion dollars while she goes away. But that's a ton of what ifs. Florio needs to worry about "what if" he needs to stop talking football and just be a lawyer again. All you want to do is look at worse case scenario. Stop being a lawyer that dabbles in football knowledge. Get more football knowledge and then add sprinkles of your law experience. Stop kicking dead horses. It you've said it 20 times already, we get it... If you feel like you're the only one that cares about what you're saying, maybe you are

Florio , Why are you talking about Mahomes playing the game? He has not even reached thirty yet. I know you are tired of Mahomes and the Chiefs. That is why you are trying so hard to throw all kinds of ludicrous statements about the Chiefs. What you should be saying is ATTENTION TO ALL NFL TEAMS MAKE THE CHIEFS GO AWAY, especially the AFC TEAMS!!!!

Is this all it takes to be a sports talk show host? Make up the most ridiculous headlines about players and coaches with exactly zero insight into whether or not they even have the slightest possibility to come to fruition?

You dared? Wow, you really love the idea of yourself. This is primetime summer chum content. Nothing happening? The Florio book says "inflame the fanbase of the champs with clickbait content and soak in the outrage." Cheap, crass and useless empty calories rambling. Florio Boredom Level: 1 Million.
