Highly requested video! People have been asking me How much my Indie game made? Was it successful? Can you actually earn money making games?
Well in this video I answer all these questions and more. I'll tell you exactly how much my indie game A Pretty Odd Bunny made across all platforms. After taxes and fees, it'd be around $10k. So it'd be like doing a part time job, survivable if you live cheap (preferably with somebody), for 1 year.

Great video and thanks for mentioning poki, I didnt know it. I would be really interested to see more success stories about poki. Did you do the graphics? very nice.. also shame you dont break down the console percentages more. Im amazed u got so much attention on android too with all the games out there.

Thank you! There isn't an official one, but the community has made a couple. If you has a game coming to Poki make sure you join their Discord, there's a channel for Construct games that is super helpful.

Cute art/game. Not sure why but it gets very laggy on Poki after a level or two (loading things maybe?). Congrats on your work!

Hey thanks! Question: did you noticed if going back to the title screen fixes the lag? I'm trying to identify the issue.

@@AJOrdaz I don't see how to get back to the title screen. I tried f5 and picking from levels (just tried level 8) but the lag stays. Its not 100% as in if I push through it, it starts performing again. That's why I though maybe it was loading something (although I have a high-end PC and blazing internet).

Why you have not released on iOS, how much commision you paid for releasing on this platform to publisher?

The IOS port is in the works. Hopefully we can release it this year. The comission depends on the contract. It is different for each publisher and platform.

Hey thanks for the question! I worked with a publisher who handled all the console ports. I have another video on the channel where I talk more about that, check it out if you have a chance. I go into more details about finding a Publisher, porting the game, etc.

Hi there, unfortunately that's not possible at the moment. You need a developer unit to be able to put your games on it. Retail Switches are not able to play custom games.

Depends on the length. If it is your first game it's probably better to keep it small. I spent a over 3 years working on A Pretty Odd Bunny

You had to learn how to use Construct 3 which took time to learn correct? Also, you had to learn how to draw or make vector art is that correct? Lastly, how many hours a day did you spend each day making this game? Were there days that you didn't work on it at all?

@Kirbee Correct. I spent a lot of time learning the engine and learning how to draw decent art. Then working on the game it was a lot. I only worked on the game in my spare time though, so for full time devs it should be quicker.

Yes, all platforms take a fee from your revenues. On consoles and on mobile.

@@huhigames5393 Oh my bad. On Xbox you can apply and it is all done throught software, but with Playstation you do need to buy their hardware. In my case the publisher managed all of that.
