1 month is like 3000-4000 euros in Japan :3 if you rent a room there for one room + food, entertainment, transport, plane tickets.

I was just in Tokyo a week ago, was there for 6 days and definitely spent either 10,000 or more yen a day, souvenirs can be very pricey, i bought some souvenirs at the government metropolitan building, and in the next few days found the same stuff going for half price at smaller souvenir shops in Shibuya. Patience is key, when you find something you like, know that you're bound to find the same thing in another shop for HALF the price. Spending 1000 yen on an item is better than 2000 yen for the same thing, coz it all adds up in your daily budget.

Was in Tokyo back in October 2016. I would say we spent less in a day except for the day we went to Disney Sea/Land (ticket alone is 7K already and the food inside is more expensive than food outside the pakrs) and Mt. Fuji. But as long as you don't eat in fancy restos for sure less than Y10K a day is doable. Of course if you stay in an expensive hotel in Shinjuku then you will easily pass 10K....

I feel like this video should have gone a little more in depth. Because for all we know, one person has been saving for 4 years. Is the spending proportional to their yearly income? Idk, they just seemed like a wealthy bunch in general and I know it's possible to get great, affordable food in Japan.

Ana Melissa Sanchez This video meant to have no depth in that aspect. It's a simple video of asking are you spending JP¥10,000 or less on a daily basis and where is your biggest bulk of expense. You overthink too much for something so simple.

Ignoring flight and rail pass... hostel/AirBnB: 2800 yen/day... if you go with someone, this should be cheaper Food: 1700 yen/day... but I was occasionally treated- 2000 yen/day is probably safer Transport: 550 yen/day... transport is cheap if you know what you're doing Wifi: 350 yen/day I've long said 50 USD/day for these 4 "requirements"... and the exchange rate is still in the range where that is true. The other expenses are events/things to do... in which I also pigeon-hole gourmet splurge meals into this category. And stuff. And both of these categories will vary widely depending on tastes. I bring another 50/USD day for this. So the question is... under or over 10000 yen? Well, neither. It's 10000 yen... or close enough. You can go far cheaper... but it's a vacation... you should at least have this much AVAILABLE to spend, even if you don't actually spend it.

My budget is 6000 yen a day but I'm staying in Yokohama and visiting Tokyo once or twice a week. I think most of my money is going to go on clothes and food. The transport isn't really a big expense since compared to the uk the public transport is so cheap here! Bet then again I'm only traveling between Yokohama, Tokyo and Kamakura.

Way more than 10000 a day with family of 5 bulk of expense on transport and food even though we are a lot from convini , we got Suica travel cards so whenever we topped them up with $1000 or $2000 yen for five of us it was about $10000 yen already even though we walked a lot I suggest to use airbnb and book somewhere in Tokyo around Shibuya , ometsando, harajuku so most things are within walking distance even if you go further out on the train for a day trip when you get back to your airbnb everything is walking distance to find food and shopping it's very convenient
@tw1zt3d
@tw1zt3d 7 жыл бұрын
I averaged less than a hundred bucks a day since I primarily lived out of vending machines and conbini, although you could throw in yoshinoya, coco curry, and lotteria). I'd splurge occasionally like when I went to Pizza Hut (for that 40 dollar meat lovers pizza), or when I went to sushibar Yasuda. If we take out souvenirs and hotels, the bulk of my money went to taxis and whenever trains weren't covered by the JR pass

Less if I don't go do anything special or visit any special place. Mostly spend money daily for food and maybe transportation if I am not in Tokyo central area. Usually trying to budget daily spending to 5,000 or under. (+ accommodation) More than 10,000円 Special things to do: Drinking, Karaoke, General Partying Meeting up with friend/group of people etc. More than 10,000円 Special places to visit: Tokyo Tower Tokyo Skytree Osaka Universal Studios/Fuji-Q/Disney Land (and other theme/amusement parks) Aquarium(s) etc.

In my 6 weeks i averaged about 18k a day. That includes everything. for just spending on food etc i would say about 7k. Hotels and rail passes make up the rest. I spent up to my budget though so probably could have gone cheaper if needed.

In Tokyo now. Food is cheap, hotels are reasonable, but "stuff" is expensive. Do Japanese people only shop at Uniqlo?.. If I didn't buy "stuff" I'd be around ¥10,000 per day, that's even with my Otoro sushi lunch set and Wagyu steak dinner. But the moment I buy a SHIRT I blow that budget out the water. (my hotel however is in Shiodome. ¥¥¥ 高い). Long story short, I'm over ¥10k per day.

This doesn't make any sense...you seem to imply that a hotel could be the biggest expense...but if the hotel is include, there is absolutely no way you can spent time in Japan for less than 10K a day...even a capsule hotel is 3000-5000 yen a night per person...my tiny room in Shinjuku is going to cost me 11,000 yen a night! Now, if hotel is not included, then you can easily spend less than 10K inside Tokyo...unless you are buying souvenirs, eating at high end restaurants or leaving Tokyo for a day trip.
@TokyoCreativeTravel
@TokyoCreativeTravel 7 жыл бұрын
I'm confused, why does it not make any sense? You clearly stated that a capsule hotel could run for 3-5k a night, which is correct leaving us with 7-5k a day leftover. Why is that impossible? As stated in the interviews and comments section, many people are satisfied with eating the cheaper foods here in Japan since those are satisfying enough for the average budget traveler. Please inform me how this "doesn't make any sense".

I would highly suggest you budget no less than 6000 yen/day. It's not much more.... but significantly increases your disposable income. If you're trying to do 5000 yen/day, you probably either need to be going with at least one other person to keep accommodation costs down, which otherwise eats an overly large portion of a 5000 yen/day budget... or would need to make your own food... which I think is a wasted opportunity on a trip to Tokyo.

That's how much I put aside for shopping & food for 2 adults & 2 young children. I'm planning a family trip for December/January for 2 1/2 weeks and have estimated roughly $9000 for airfare/hotel, $1000 for Disneyland/sea 4day pass, puroland, studio ghibli museum, $160 for kimono hire, $200 ueno zoo, Tokyo tower , mini attractions etc. $640 food approx. (I'm just rounding everything up lolz) $200 for transport and $5000 on souvienirs/shopping. All up approx $16000NZD for the trip, I know that I probably won't spend all $5000 even though I love buying "stuff" I am only partial to cute/cultural things that don't look like I got them from the $2 shop here in NZ..you know the cheap/budget looking things lolz so all in all this is my budget for the trip 💃
