great to see others looking at auctions. My business is fully run through auctions with the very occasional carboot. I am currently part time, working 5 days a week and doing this in my spare time. I have been going for about a year and am now turning over about £6000 per month, averaging about £4000 p/m profit after fees postage etc. I tend to buy job lots rather than individual items and them split them out

Wow that's great going, well done! Some incredible margins for auctions you're achieving there, not sure where you're based but it would be a big struggle to achieve those kinds of margins around here! I hope you have some "spare time" left 😳!!

@@DiaryOfAReseller not much spare time at the moment, but cutting my work days to 3 a week after July so will get that spare time back hopefully. Yeah the margins are nice, tend to buy things that other people wont bother with as awkward and fragile.

I can’t pass that comment by without saying that’s amazing. I’ve only just started working auctions in to my sourcing and I love it. Mine only runs every 4 weeks sadly. What sorts of things do you sell? I often wonder if I can be bothered with the household crockery /ceramics lots😂

@@ThisisJo my best margins are on ceramics, but you have to know what to look out for and it is a lot of work with the packing etc.

@@rjwilki3 interesting, thanks! My auction house lots up 8+ crates quite often. Clearly house clearance stuff. I see treasure in there….and also tat. Maybe one day I’ll be brave!!

Great video, thanks. A technique that I have applied to auctions that are held weekly with online sales works well for me. When I go to collect items I have bought from the auction I leave collection as late as possible. They don't like this but they usually swallow it. I then ask if I can look around (rarely refused) so I can actually examine things in the coming auction. Online photos are not reliab!e. I then go home and place my bids - frequently on things I wasn't thinking of bidding on. It works for me but requires a bit of chat (negotiation) with the people running the sale. It works for me! Awsome boxing bits that eubank vs benn programme was probbaly signed by front row celebs on the night. You should watch the fight back and see who was on the front row might get an idea of who signatures could be

That's a good shout, I popped it on a boxing memorabilia page on FB and someone said one of them was Gary lineker, so could well be that!

Since your first auction video, I’ve now worked auctions into my sourcing and I’ve mostly cut out charity shops. I’m on the Hampshire south coast and not really many auction possibilities and so the one option isn’t a cheap auction. But I find buying lots with quite a few items cost effective. I do have quite a few items from lots where the items may only be worth £10, but they chug along in my shop drip feeding me sales. I
