My state got 180 bottles of russells 13 total. I was able to try it last night, wasnt as impressed as i thought i would be based on reviews. Doesnt beat ecbp a121 imo. Still really good, but somewhat thin and definitely some bitterness on the finish. I think 70 is the right price for it. Glad i tried it, but i now know i dont need to freak out over it.

During a recent tasting with Bruce Russell he said this will be an annual release. But that this years batch has a portion that is 18yrs

The party source retailed the Sam Houston ky batch 1 for 149.99 I go down the road to a deps and found ky batch 2 for 121.99, batch 2 went home with me and it is fantastic.

The batch number is also on the neck tag for the Discovery Series (except Batch 1)

I found the Sam Houston 15 on secondary for $199 and somehow got them to ship to TN despite it technically being against state law. It will probably improve upon further tasting but upon initial impression I'd agree with y'alls price. Y'all didn't talk about it here but I took your advice and chatted up some guys at some local stores about Elijah Craig barrels proofs. Every one of them said they have no idea when distributers will bring them. But one of them was really nice and offered to put me on a list to be called when they get stock in. A week later they called and I got the most recent B batch for $69.99, the lowest I've ever seen one. So thanks for your advice!

I was looking high and low for the 13 and old forester barrel rye couldn’t find one or hear of one anywhere near me and only found one store with the 100proof rye it’s just getting crazy

@@BourbonJunkies What do you actually think of the Bardstown Discovery series 5? I see you just opened it and are slowly going through it. I see the cheaper cap already and have heard mixed things about the actual bourbon. I know people personally that love it and some that say it's trash compared to series 4. This is going to get interesting either way. Also I got my bottle of Kentucky Owl Straight Rye Series 2 thanks to you. I can't wait, but I am going to wait to uncork around Thanksgiving time to enjoy through Christmas.

That old forester rye is so good.. picked up one for 100 in Michigan and it’s maybe a hair behind the jack daniels barrel proof rye but incredible in its own right. Looking forward to the review

Spent retail on a Disco 5 and I wouldn't buy another at any price. It's ok, but so many other bottles on the shelf that are way better. I'd buy every bottle of 4 I could find at retail, but they screwed the pooch on 5.

There’s a reason Dickel still has/had ultra aged bourbon available for distilleries to purchase. Or at least did, when the rest of the Aged Kentucky/MGP has dried up. It’s controversial and most don’t like the profile. I didn’t care for Disco 5 at all, can’t stand the Dickel profile and to me it is prominent in it, and stands out to me. Hard pass! $130 for a lower “barrel proof” Dickel blend is insane! I would of rather they put their own younger Distillate in it than Dickel! And c’mon go back to the old cork, they were awesome!

How or where do I access the Secondary Market? I have been buying some of your reviewed Bourbons and also have some from before you guys were a thing. I have them stashed away, uncracked in a old 40 ft Conex. I also have a bottle of Brandy that I got in Spain ...back in 1974! Also uncracked. I don't know where to look for a value on that bottle. Interestingly enough I also have a Sword made by the Toledo sword company from around that 1974 timeframe also. Saw some values on Ebay but idk....$25 K seems a bit much. Maybe I got lucky!!
