This chemistry video tutorial explains how to calculate the amount of thermal energy needed to heat ice into steam using a heating curve. There's only two equations that you need but you have to separate the problem into 5 parts in order to calculate the total heat needed. You also need the specific heat capacity of ice, water, and steam. In addition, you need the values for the enthalpy of fusion and enthalpy of vaporization of water.

in 8:27 you said "1 mole of water will take away 226.1kj of thermal energy away from your body" but isn't the magnitude of 226.1 came from dividing 100g / 18g/m which is equal to 5 moles ??? مش كده ولا أنا غلط؟؟

Really all this work for one problem? like I have 6 problems like this on my general chem test review guide, is there any other shorter way? plus we have 45 mins for the test only, it took you 10 mins to do just one

Your teacher/professor must be fuckin stupid LOL, like if anything he or she should only ask like one of this heating curve question. It is easy but it takes time and lot of calculations so you have to take your time, it took him 10 minutes because he is explaining every single step in detail and you should be thankful for that... there is no " shorter way " for this. Sorry if I sound mad, but I just get really upset when people comment something like this on this guy's videos, who is taking life out of his life to help us.
