Nice build.. my step father had a 87' GT convertible when I was 9yrs. Bring back memories. He put me onto the Fox body and maybe one day build one of my own. Now I have a 305 but in the "M" power world. Hopefully one day we can meet up and drive. I'm on the north side of the Chi. Much love on your labor of love on that beast.

What you said at the end of the video is exactly what I like in a sports car build. Lots of power but still comfortable and enjoyable to ride in (heat/ac radio, space etc) with the ability to be a daily driver. I've never been interested in getting cars that are fast but not enjoyable or comfortable to ride in(missing interior panels, no heat/ac, radio, cage etc) If I were a serious track racer I might feel differently

Very good video! Termi swaps are one of my favorite power plants for the Fox regardless of high cost. I hope you enjoy your car, cost won't matter so much so long as you keep it long term.

This is a good video! The hardest part of building a project car is to research those that have done it before you, and see how much they spend, and where they got some hard to find parts. Keep up the content, it will help other people down the road who are doing research for their terminator swap or coyote swap.

Nice video and always a topic of discussion. I’m currently swapping a 1985 notch and your price range I would agree is pretty accurate. I would say my total is in the $12k range for just the swap parts but When you add up the suspension, brake and interior upgrades I’m closer to $17k! Keep up the good work and let’s hope my wife doesn’t see this!!!!

Man, I love your attention to detail here and being straight up with facts. Like depending on what you do to this or that it may not work and this or that may cost a bit more, may not work as good as, cost more especially if you can't do it yourself, and when you get it all together it still has to be tuned. Can't ask for no more than that. My problems are a little different. I can just about do it all but that don't meal it will work. I got 2 fox Gt convertibles a 87 and a 88 , the 87 will be clean with some bolt ons I can do but nothing major just clean and a little faster than stock. I don't race so fast is fast enough. No major really super expensive mods and I got all kinds of extra stuff. A restored car inside and out that's clean and a little faster is all I want here. . The other one already had some real clean custom body mods. I want to turn it into a fast street cruiser and show car not a race car but strong enough if possible to be one. I got a 6 point roll cage. I already moved the front seats back just to get in and plan t get a back seat removal. New top and cover. Shaved gas door antenna hole and door handles. Off the chain 18 and 20 inch wheel combo. This car has a custom front bumper, don't know who makes it and dual exhaust rear bumpers by ? But looks real good. Peal white with a white top and a cobra hood. It looks awesome. I plan to beef up the frame in every possible way to deal with my problem. A 700 HP kaase 460 w/ 8 stack fuel injection Billet serpentine, P51 Kaase aluminum heads and a C6 w/ overdrive. It came with subframe connectors and I want to add a AJE k member big block adapter kit that come with the works to the front with some more bracing from front to rear but not over the doors. I just don't like the way that looks on a convertible . I think I can make the frame strong enough with the roll bar kit, frame connectors, shock towers and a little more on the frame. Still I keep hearing the convertible is going to bend. What are your thoughts on this?
@BuiltVSBought3 жыл бұрын
Well depending on the final number for power will make the difference. Also you are not hooking for the track so you might be ok. The convertible platform is the tricky one but if it’s just for street driving you might be ok
@mj3nlayuiop3 жыл бұрын
@@BuiltVSBought I feel exactly what you are saying and feel the most of it is what I call bracing on that convertible"s frame. Overkill is a must here. Too much is better than not enough while still making it look clean. I'll take that as a caution light and let you know how it comes out. Since fast is fast enough for a clean street cruiser I feel it will be ok. Keep, keeping us fired up and thanks again.

Unbelievable job with your breakdown. Your spot on, only way you could have done that cheaper was being a shop owner and you ALREADY being old school mustang parts collector or seriously connected. Got my boy doing one of these here in brevard county fl. Going to pass this on cuz you got straight forward with details like those rails. "boom & boom" I think I recall you messing with this in that little red brick shop like a yr + ago. BEAUTIFUL car! Peace bruh. 👍

My car is a turbo street car never on a track . The 331 forged eagle rotating assembly . Afr 185 worked . Ported and polished all to match runners and intake . Never been denied and I tuned myself . I believe a honest 425 to 450 rwhp. It's a blast. Would love to send some pics but don't know how to get them to you. Could you tell me how I would like your opinion of my car . I'm 49 years old and this is my 4th fox I've owned and will not let this one go as for my dad helped with this one and has since passed . I love my dad dearly and miss him tremendously. As of Dec 23 2019 I lost my best friend of 35 years to a unknown something who has also helped with the car . So needless to say I love my fox body's as much as anybody can but this one in particular means the world to me . Never been washed or seen rain since paint.
