We get on after you on the 21st! Our cruise (booked last month) cost just over $5000 USD for 2 adults, 1 child, including princess plus for 2. We still have to add getting to port & pre-cruise etc so I imagine it will be around $7000 but that’s for 3 ppl. We are booked in a deluxe balcony mid-aft deck 12.

Rex, Spirit Airlines hasn’t yet released their fares for December, but you might be able to snag a round-trip fare from ORD to FLL for under $100 bucks per person if you don’t check any luggage. A room at the Ocean Drive Villas can be had for $63, but this does not include breakfast. There is a convenience store just around the corner where you can grab a Pop Tart. It is close to the airport and cruise terminal, so Uber should be cheap. You can save money on shore excursions by walking to the public beach in Amber Cove and Grand Turk, and a snorkeling mask should be available at Walgreens for under $5.00. There are free lounge chairs on Princess Cays. If you only use the free internet sites available at the port and request the Passenger Service desk to remove the gratuities from your account, you can save even more. Enjoy your cruise!

We will be on the Sun in Feb 2025, Cabana mini-suite w/Premier Pkg @ a cost of $4,200 for 2 people (7 day Caribbean cruise). Hyatt Regency night before flight $280 (includes 10 day covered parking & free shuttles to/from airport - can't book this room type w/points). United flights to and from ORD-FLL $22 for taxes (booked with points), Hyatt Centric night before cruise $-0- (booked w/points), Couples massage @ Lotus Spa onboard ship $263 incl tip, (2) weekly Enclave Thermal Suite passes $300, Dining/Bev before cruise and @ ports $500, Cash for tips $400, Ground transport (Ubers from airport to hotel, hotel to ship, ship to airport) $75, We aren't planning on doing any excursions and don't usually buy souvenirs but I have $500 budgeted just in case, $100 pet sitting for our cat, we have $200 OBC on this trip so our bottom line is just over $6,440. We have a yearly insurance policy through Allianz.

Wanted to mention - if you head to the right when you get off @ Princess Cays, go over the bridge and you will find plenty of loungers in the shade that are near a bathroom and the bar. Less crowded over there as everyone else heads to their left. Saves you from having to rent a clam shell.

You forgot insurance.
@rexdillinger4 ай бұрын
We carry a yearly policy so I didn’t factor that in as it was only about $5/day because of how much we travel.
@mw19594 ай бұрын
Maybe you could just mention that they should add it to the total, as some people don’t think they need it.

Don't think you can stay at Hyatt Place for $120 in December, more like $300. For WiFi, you can save a few bucks by buying the 4-device plan instead of two one-device plans. I would just go for the Plus package so I don't need to worry about all these individual charges.

It’s $120 each for the Hyatt. (Senior rate) I wanted to break everything down per person for comparison purposes.

@@rexdillinger We cruised on Princess quite a bit in the past, and we have decent loyalty program status. However, when they got ridiculous with the add-ons we called it quits and switched to Oceania. A Princess Mini-Suite is roughly equivalent to a Veranda cabin on Oceania's 1,200 passenger ships, in terms of square footage. Although, Oceania has much more luxurious bathrooms and cabin decor. On an apples to apples basis, the total cost is about the same when you add in all of the Princess upgrades to equal Oceania's inclusions. Looking at Pros and Cons, the only Princess advantage is the production shows (whenever they happen to be offered). Otherwise, all the other advantages go to Oceania in our opinion, with the elevated food offerings in all venues, and "included" 4 Specialty Dining restaurants, beer/wine with lunch and dinner, 2 for 1 happy hours every day, free WiFi, and even some excursions included. Oceania even has some really nice advantages that most people don't notice right away such as free room service, free self serve laundry, cushions on deck loungers and balcony chairs, and no crazy lines for tenders to/from shore.

Oh forgot to mention there us RIU and RIU palace. In some of the countries like Dominican Republic they have several down the road from each other so if you are booked into RIU palace, u can go explore the others and eat at anyone of them or use there facilities and there's a hotel shuttle to each one so its like getting 3 all inclusives in one
