Have you visited Ramadan street food in Myanmar?
If you haven’t, here is for you.
Today, in this video, Sandi will take you to Bo Son Pat street which is famous for Ramadan street food in the downtown area.
Ramadan is considered as one of the holiest months of the year for Muslims.
It is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar, which is based on a 12-month lunar year of approximately 354 days.
Because the lunar year is 11 days shorter than the solar year.
Each lunar month moves 11 days earlier each year.
The month traditionally begins and ends based on the sighting of the new moon.
During this month, Muslims observe a strict fast from dawn until sunset.
They are not allowed to eat or drink, even water during daylight hours.
And also, doctors agree that fasting is extremely beneficial for lowering cholesterol levels and for other health benefits.
Those unable to fast, such as pregnant or nursing women, the sick, or elderly people & children, are exempt from fasting.
And also, food is considered important in Ramadan.
Because it not only sustains the body but also has significant cultural and religious significance.
It is a way for Muslims to come together, show gratitude, and earn blessings during this holy month.
Family is a major foundation in Islamic culture.
