Nicki did a lot for hip hop…fought for streaming rights that allow today’s artists to get plaques, popularized animation in raps, revamped female rap and created the PINKPRINT for female rappers today. Not to mention her business ventures and overall influence on fashion, music, and pop culture. She’s a GOAT and that’s not up for debate
@brooklyndestiny446

OK no she thought for those streaming rights because she knew exactly what she was gonna do with him don’t be stupid because I know exactly what she does I do music and when you do music when you’re in the industry there’s something called packages every big record label has them you can buy a package and when you buy that package it gives you with certain streams well Nicki Minaj has her own fucking label which she uses to her advantage her website which you have to pay to get access to so I did and do you wanna know what she fucking sells on her website she sells packages streaming packages which is a form of payola and she even gives her fans big bunches of money to buy these packages now she wants to talk about everybody else using payola payola payola but she created her own record label so she could get those streaming packages that they give out to record label and she allows you dumbasses to buy them so it makes her streams go all the way up so she didn’t do shit for hip-hop but screw it the fuck up

This is giving me a headache. Nicki is the Queen of Rap. Further more she has not only changed the women game but also the male game, there is something to discuss. Nicki Minaj is arguably better than 99% of all male rappers and that is the real issue with them. Further, Nicki is refreshing and she will once again like the phoenix rise.

I don’t think his video per say is a good representation of Nicki Minaj’s legacy & how she’s impacted culture. Nor do I think it even grasps in full depth of how she changed the game in the way that Female Rappers before her couldn’t. I also know that he attempted to downplay her STAR today when Nicki Minaj is still in her prime today & still considered the Best in her field today!! She’s still the highest selling & she’s had several hits this year.

duuuuuude.... A 'Top', in a sexual context, is the person who is in the dominant position. The 'Top' is the person who is Doing all the sex stuff. The opposite of the 'Bottom', the person who is in the submissive position and to which the sex stuff is done To them. In a more transgressive sense of the word, 'Top Energy' means, "I am here to take gratification from You, You are here to serve and service Me." Which, from a woman speaking to men in this time-frame was like, "Uh-uh, no way, no how, that's not how this is supposed to work." (and is why DJ Kahled won't go down on a woman) but having 'Top Energy' means Queen Latifah and Nicki Minaj were like, "Too bad, this is how it's going down."

I recognize and appreciate the experience you have had with unjust allegations affecting people's lives, and the last thing I would want to do is to downplay that. It is an unfortunate truth that in today's society, the mere record of having been arrested, no charges, just having been arrested, can ruin a person's chances at holding down stable employment or freely participating in society. But there is another side to this coin. It is yet another unfortunate truth that in today's society, justice for victims of sexual assault is next to impossible, and to question why someone accused of assault has not been convicted is, respectfully, naïve. In criminal cases, the burden of proof for the prosecution is "beyond a reasonable doubt." Now, don't get me wrong, I am not one of those radicals who is pushing for a new burden of proof, I have yet to see a proposition that would be a better system for jurisprudence in these cases. But it has to be recognized that "beyond a reasonable doubt" is a burden of proof that cannot be reached in sexual assault cases. Nine times out of ten, there is no video evidence, no witnesses, and feelings of guilt, shame, and fear lead victims to report the crime well past the window established in the statute of limitations. And that's not even including the victims who never report their assault because they have zero faith in the system. Nine times out of ten, it is a case of "he said/she said," which does not pass the "beyond a reasonable doubt" burden of proof. For most victims, the best they can hope for is an out-of-court settlement, and that can hardly be described as justice. But, like I said, I am sympathetic. I am, in no way, trying to say that those accused and charged with assault, who have yet to be convicted, should be considered guilty. It gets even more complicated when you look at statistics of exonerations for those convicted of sexual assault. In 2017, an article was published examining exonerations of wrongful convictions of sexual assault in the United States, and the authors found that despite "African Americans (making up) only 13% of the American population... they constitute 47% of the 1,900 exonerations listed in the National Registry of Exonerations (as of October 2016), and the great majority of more than 1,800 additional innocent defendants who were framed and convicted of crimes in 15 large-scale police scandals and later cleared in “group exonerations"." (Samuel R. Gross, et al.) Black people are significantly more likely to be found guilty of crimes they didn't commit, including sexual assault, and this is for all the reasons you may imagine: white juries, implicit bias, increased rates of stops and searches by police, prosecutorial misconduct... and so many more. Suffice to say, the system is broken and it is hurting everyone, both the accused and the accuser find themselves in lose-lose situations. The only ones who benefit from the system are the bad actors, since those that committed an assault are almost guaranteed to be found not guilty, and those that abuse the system to tear down the innocent can always convict them in the court of public appeal. In short, I respect your position on refusing to automatically accept someone as guilty when accused of assault, I just think that "why hasn't he been convicted?" is not a valid argument for why you hold that position. Much love, and thank you for the sincerity and respect you showed for the topic.

I dug this long-form content. Reminds me of KZfaq's opening years, when this was how conversations and debates were had; play and respond and clip and respond etc. However, that was back before this was a business model. What I like may not be what feeds the meter. But if you can find a niche for it on this or that channel that makes business sense for you, yeah, keep it up.

My personal head-canon is that Onika walked so that Iggy Azalea, Young MA, & Cardi B could run and Megan Thee Stallion, City Girls, & Miss Mulatto could sprint. Of course there were artist who crawled before Nicki but walking creates a lot more momentum. After decades we’re approaching the era of the female mc. There’s even an argument to be made that female mcs are doing better than their male counter parts. There are only a handful of male rappers still relevant today but on there female side it seems like every other artist consecutive hit singles. The sudden rise of so many female has now allowed there to be artist with a wide array of skills, flows, and cadences. I wish they didn’t all rap about the same thing but I guess the same argument can be made about rap as a whole.

If you think about Pop or Anaconda when Nicki Minaj is brought up then you’re just uninformed & need to sit down to actually broaden your horizon. Nicki Minaj is a Hip Hop Artist who’s dabbled in other genres of Music which resulted in her becoming a Pop/Megastar. Also when it comes to who’ve broken doors down Nicki has done it the most! Its not about who did it first but who was the most successful at doing it while being extremely talented & who’s brought female rap mainstream.

I can't tell who this comment is directed at. If it's to MrLboyd, he openly admitted at the beginning that he was largely unaware of the artist's impact on hip-hop and was only peripherally aware of her career outside of her pop hits, and actively took notes on some of her discography he could explore to get a better appreciation of her bars. He wasn't taking unsubstantiated shots at a person, he was giving his opinion after openly acknowledging that it was an uninformed one. The man who did the video did such a poor video. Like bro what are your arguemnets for why she changed hip hop. He focused so much on fashion and her backlash but never talked about her actual music and lyrics and clips from it. Didn’t talk about her fighting streaming, her blackballing, what it means to cultivate a fandom. Talking bout her body but never mentioned why she got it in the first place (which she’s talk about before). Beyoncé ain’t singing w/ no one and did anyone say she’s not being black singers up w/ her? What nonsense title cuz he just didn’t talk about anything at all. He never listened to NM’s albums before but now wants to talk about her changing hip hop? And does a poor job? He needs to go sit down

My era of hip hop was trina, lil kim (QUEEN 🐝) foxy brown, too. I loved them (and all hip hop from that period, its all trash these days with the exception of a few). I will say i see a lot of lil kim in nicki minaj. I feel they were similar in regards to presence and looks (90s Kim to 00’s Nicki) I feel the physical appearance of women in music in the rap/hip hop/r&b field all wore the baggy clothes and top (aalyiah, missyE, da brat, foxy brown, miya, etc) whether they were “feminine” or not. I think that was just the steez (bringin them 90’s words back, yall) for the time. JNCO, STUSSY, ROXY all had those baggy ass pants that you could fit three legs per side in. Parachute pants had drawstrings to make the bottoms puddle, tommy hilfiger branded clothes (including them fleece hoodies) were the shit. I feel bad for kids these days who didnt grow up with traditional hip hop. More skin now the better, but back then they weren’t really looking like that. I dont remember my point, due to my 90’s rambling lol

This is what I hate when people give their opinion on Nicki's impact on hip hop. If you have only listened to Nicki's mainstream pop hits like superbass, starships, anaconda etc. then you have no place to comment on her lyrical ability. Her albums are filled with lyrically impressive songs, but they are not played on the radio or go mainstream.

Cardi B is nowhere near Nicki Minaj not even a lil bit. As for issue between her & Cardi wasn't cuz of Nicki it was Cardi who was jealous and feelin some type of way when on the same song motorsport cuz Cardi knew her raps wasn't really hers she has ghost writers and Nicki Minaj does. Can u blame Nicki for not reaching dwn & pulling others up look how everyone talked so bad about her tried to ruin her legacy thru the mud ppl wanna kick & stomp her when she's dwn but guess what the Queen Nicki has always & will always come out on top better than before stronger than before jus as beautiful & talented as always she will retire as the Queen of Hip-hop with her crown intact may hve a few scuffs but it's still sitting on the rightful owner head nobody can change that she is who she is her accomplishments nor her legacy can be undone and she may hve had the co-sign of the greatest rapper alive Lil Wayne along wit Baby,Slim,Cash Money Young Money but she put in all the wrk to succeed she wasn't fkn anyone to get noticed ,to get more famous,to get a deal ,to be a ghostwriter but pretend as if it's all u and no help ,she didn't go around spreading fk lies about other artist to harm their career , she didn't have to do any of those things that all or most of the other female artists has done and still do. Female artists that I feel are talented and it's all them when u hear their lyrics other than possibly the hook are Lotto, Lakeyah,Young Ma, Dreezy.

I think this guy has little real knowledge or understanding if who Nicki is, he clearsaid he wasnt a fan didn't really want to do the video but tried. This is so off an so much of his information is inaccurate. coming from someone who is not particularly fluent in Nicki an her music or her fanbase, so much so that he didn't even know her hiatus was because she was pregnant. Nicki will be in the game as long as she chooses to be, the Barbz will an are always going to support her. One thing Nicki has done is created a loyal fanbase. How old is this video Nicki Is on the charts as we speak what flop era. The guy who created the video has far too many blind spots as it relates to Nicki an not enough of his own knowledge as a would be fan but relies on the thoughts an opinions of others.
