This is an analysis of the most common mistakes I made throughout 10 years of occasional cutting practice, which hopefully helps beginners and anyone else looking to improve their technique.
In the video I address various biomechanical issues, like poor footwork, twisted or otherwise misaligned posture, bad edge alignment, ineffective arm positioning, etc.
My favorite online store for buying swords and other historical arms and armor (worldwide shipping):
ww4.aitsafe.com/go.htm?go=kult...
An excellent book on the topic is Mike Edelson's "Cutting with the Medieval Sword: Theory and Application"

i'm in a wheelchair but get to take a college fencing class! I've got cerebral palsy which makes my limbs pretty shaky, we'll see how my saber handling goes. everyone stay at a safe distance.

Some people have 10 years experience, other people have one year's experience ten times.

My middle boy is really into swords. I built a forge and made him a couple and almost begged him to watch your videos.. He's so stubborn, he thinks he's mastered the art form so I just let him keep cutting his ankles, fingers, and every other appendage he has. He'll learn... one day🤣

This is kind of a mild example of that feeling of wanting to travel ten years in the past to slap yourself.

I love reading fantasy novel so even though I might never do cutting on my own, this is a very interesting information to help me imagine a medieval age sword fight

You're a humble man, my dude. Few people would be willing to show their flaws from the past. This is why I love your channel and content.

So true.... I am a self trained shooter, and archer. After 40 years or so, I worked with a shooting coach, and a few years later a great archery coach. I can tell you, I improved more in those months than the last 30 years.

You are a very humble man. I really appreciate that in another person. We could all use some humility. Thank you for teaching us through your learning process.
