I don't think many (good) players disregarded him. The minute he stepped into professional Dota people recognized his skills. I mean his ES was considered the best in the world from the very beginning and he's just a beast of a pos 4 in general. Jerax and fy are the pinnacle of pos 4 players.

OG just does stuff that normally people would think are bad moves, this throws other teams off a lot. The no fear T2 tower dive you mentioned when they had no vision of anyone else on the map. Normally a team would think since 4 heroes are missing they could be behind and turn on us. OG just goes screw it, we're doing it NOW! they can't react and we get out, maybe chase for more if they panic and come late.

It's also very interesting that OG consistently picked heroes with high regen/healing. Even when IO was banned MK, Ench, Alch, Chen and even Omni I think that the power of that extra sustain and the ability to prepare for a fight or a gank after taking damage isn't talked about enough.

Yeah this is a good point. They always prioritise sustain so they can just park themselves somewhere and it's hard to force them back. They also rarely pick heroes with massive cooldowns, and when they do they'll still have extra utility elsewhere.

What you said around 11:00 is very true, and I believe that the main reason for that is the fact that they have such a good understanding of the game and their heroes that they always understand their capability of winning a fight, and so because they know for such certainty that they will win the fight, the commit with such staggering confidence.

That's why they comeback so consistently, they are so aware of every advantage and disadvantage they have when committing to fights, from items to cool downs. One over extension, miscast of a spell, hesitation or wasted ability usage and OG go all in, and they know exactly what targets to focus.

Being as the analyst and the sub for our former team, we already learned this strat since 2017, we won against some semi-professional teams on scrims, but this type of strat won't work if your team doesn't know how to listen, in our team, we have the offlane and the pos 4 support and me commanding on different parts, me dictating the pace of the game by looking ahead in terms of networth and objectives, our offlane, commanding when to fight or when to back out, and our pos 4 support commanding the little things that each player should do. I was archon back then, and my team mates were two ancient 7 and 2 divine 4, but we won against a team of full divine, in short, communication is the key. I may be low mmr but my team listened. Besides you don't need great mechanical skills as a support, it's more of a mental thing, but having mechanical skill helps.

Yeah it's fkin annoying how pub players have this tendency to blame others for their own mistakes, I guess that's just people in general though. A good player know when is the best time to engage and when to stay put.

@@gachibass8712 A big difference between pubs and premades even at high MMR is that people are too fast to use stuns. Waiting until you NEED to use a stun is such a good habit but just not enough people (including my garbage Ancient ass) can wait for higher value targets. That's why people gank supports only to get fucked up by cores teleporting in because no one has any spells left.

This match is similar to Manila Major Gf where OG also did stomped Liquid. In that match, Mind Control did also played a same hero for 3 games. Liquid got so outdrafted in both matches.

I think it is about the whole year conditioning. They don't play in first Major. Maybe they don't care about Majors anymore. So basically any information the enemy have for a year about their draft is useless. Plus their draft is changing depending on their enemy. On TI8 their draft is always for late game. LGD call it turtle. On TI9 its different it is fast and aggressive or they're just pretending to be aggressive with Topson style. Ana IO is really a surprise. Jerax Tiny, not so often. Notail and Ceb is the architect behind it.

I think one of the biggest lessons to learn from OG is that pro tier players and teams need to stop jumping ship and swapping players around like cards in a deck and instead start seeing the value in BUILDING a team that stays together and builds cohesion. OG proves more than anything what we all know but so few of us practice: Dota is a TEAM game first and foremost. The best TEAM wins not the best PLAYER. It runs through their entire lineup and everything they do, even Red Bull seems to follow this same train of thought by just sticking with them even when they where bombing. Fly and S4 on the other hand DID NOT understand this concept and where destined to not be part of any real OG glory because of it. Brilliant. And, you know, traditional, team based sports have known and emphasized this concept of TEAM first and TEAM building for a LOONG time, seems OG is the first TEAM to truly master this discipline in E-Sports. The rest of the field better realize this or OG will just keep taking TI's as long as that TEAM game they have now persists.

Astralis? SKT? Van Titans? etc... OG isnt the first team to do this, so many teams achieved TOP tier tournaments in a row in their own games by being the same players and just improve from what they were, i get what u mean but to be honest, what made OG the best team, is that they playing for fun, they enjoying the game, their goal isnt just the money or glory, thats one of the reasons Ana just went inactive again, he doesnt want to overplay the game to a point that he doesnt enjoy it anymore, ofc praticing is good, but he can just chill and play whenever he feels like instead of forcing himself to play everyday to become more stressed to then fail in TI, notail said the same, if u ever start not enjoying the games u playing in that day, even if its scrims, just stop playing, or u wont improve anyway, what OG has is a strong mentality and a clear vision of what making a career from esports is, doesnt matter what you can get if u win, you shall always play for fun

@@iBeStrong1038 OG had this mentality since their creation, although they were forced to change players for various reasons. I have spoken of this concept for years in pro dota, and was met with reshuffling was a positive more than fighting adversity. Team Liquid was much the same and was created at the same time as OG. Now most teams tries to mimic it.

hey man, an idee for a topic maybe. what is your opinion on quickcasting vs normal? i have been on quickcasting since forever and i am trying to go back to regular but it's damn hard to get used to it again. yesterday a guy almost tped in front of me and i had a stun available but i forgot i turned quickcast off. so i would like to hear your insight

@@zangh3 adapt your settings depending on the hero and his skills perhaps? ofc only if you get something out of it. if you just confuse yourself by swapping settings for different heros, it might be better to stick to a setting. simple example: kunkka's tidebringer on autocast toggle as clicking it to deactivate takes long and makes you lose cursor position

most of the TI9 team's draft heroes that stands-out when mid-late game. While OG knowing somehow manage to reveal the weakness of this kind of draft specially to Team Liquid's high ulti cooldown skills. The fact that they didn't change their strat by drafting Tidehunter and TA for 3 consecutive games made OG picked heroes that could run on fast-pace and high mobility for controlling the map. Mind_control's Tidehunter is good but it needs 2-3 core items before it could be able to tank damages and before the liquid hit their timings OG made it sure that no area in the map is safe for Liquid to farm. It is basically cornering them inside their base.

I believe the tips are actually done by mistake, what a player tipping an enemy really meant to do was alt-clicking on the enemy hero's portrait but end up misclickling below the portrait for whatever reason. This happened to me a few times, when I tried alt-clicking in an enemy hero's portrait to tell my team to tell them that enemy is missing.

Lmao you guys are idiots, pro players are immune to these "psychological warfare" things. Hell, in my pubs I myself get tipped, I get taunted, I don't even care. Everyone does those things, so it hardly has an impact on their state of mind. What MAY truly tilt people is how their TEAMMATES are playing. Support not warding? Initiator failing to initiate? Carries not getting kills or not farming the appropriate items? That DOES tilt people, NOT the enemy's tips and taunts. If a casual player like myself ignores enemy tips and taunts and all that, who are you to say that pro teams like Liquid fall for those things? If OG steamrolled Liquid is because they genuinely outplayed them, not because Liquid was pissed off and tilted by OG's tips.

I don't think Liquid can win this, even with OG losing 2 sets of lanes, you can actually see it after that last clash OG was very healthy in terms of hp, mana, cooldowns, etc. Miracle can not do anything unless Topson removes his diffusal, or go full EE-sama (destroys diffusal) OG-IO is just simply unstoppable during TI9, team should instantly ban Magnus and IO during draft phase when facing against OG, ana is currently the fastest carry, and what happens if he combined by Ceb-Magnus? he farms even faster, and ana-IO combined with team OG(a team that prefers creating space rather than kill streaks), he will obviously become unstoppable carry My point is this was an impossible game for Liquid to win, and OG already won during draft phase after they picked IO ggwp Lakad Matatag Yours Sincerely Normalin

i think it's important to really not that ana got his timing on IO just in time not just because of the books but if his farming had been a little bit less efficient if he had been a couple hundred gold from aghs or a 1 level lower liguid would have probably taken a set of racks there and the game would have been totally different.

Notail was just for the most part consistently good, he warded well, laned well and gave Ana lots of space to farm, and at this level of dota that consistency is very impressive.

Without a great analysis from OP i'm just watching another dota match. But with his explanation, as a pleb now I understand the depth of pros thinking and it makes the match dish out a lot more enjoyment out of it. Thank you so much OP, sincere kudos.

You should talk a bit about not clicking the opponent before you are in range to not aggro the creeps. The biggest mistake a lot of people do in midlane.

yeah i think ana knows how much xp a wave gives and then its just a matter of how much xp tome gave. Knowing that they play dota professionally, they would learn those things while avg player never dives that deep.
