Have these guys ever heard of Grandchildren? The "We" in any discussion and decision involving an older man (past 60 yrs old) having children is typically NOT a "We" decision, but more of a "Her" want and influence. I agree, as we get older as men, we become maybe a little more patient, but that is why we hope to become Grandfathers.

My wife and I had a child together when she was 37 and I was 49 when we lived in HK. We now live in the Philippines. The family is happy and financially secure. Our son is now 7 years old. We both have children from previous relationships. There was no 'plan' on my part, although I suspect she was planning!. Her daughter from a previous relationship lives with us and I support her at university. Their future is secure. We have property and a business and a decent income.

I'm 67, planning to move to SE Asia next year. I will be looking for a wife who wants to have kids. I never had kids in the US after watching "Divorce American Style" when I was 11 or 12 years-old. Seems I prefect time and place to have kids. My wife will be set financially for her life and our kids thru college. There's no way I could have provided that level of security when I was in my 20's and 30's. I retired 22 years ago and have enjoyed retirement. I'm ready for my next adventure. I hear a lot of retired people say they like spending time with grandkids and expats with single mom say they enjoy having kids around. I have the budget to hire housekeepers and nannies if my wife wants. I don't plan to change diapers. I hear men say then don't want to go thru the work of having kids again. Well yeah, I wouldn't want to either as a 20 year-old guy. I plan to travel and have fun too with my wife and kids or solo. I now have a lot more to teach kids and time to do it. Them having dual citizenship and language is a great plus. What others think is no concern of mine.

Go for it My Brother !!! Just think it thru, which I`m sure you have and will. Screw everyone else that poo poo`s your thoughts, just stay away from these miserable people. "Take a bite out of life my man" You only received (1) pass... I`m 69, however, because of good genes and dna, I look 50s and in great health and work out all the time. My Filipina girlfriend, most likely my wife in the near future, will want to get married and start a family. Respectfully, I am financially sound and working here as well so they will be financially protected by our law firm as well...

I can only speak for myself, at 66 yrs old I am way too old to father a child. If I can't be reasonably certain that I will be there for their development then there is no way that I could justify bringing another life into the world.

Wishing you well. Seems like there are plenty of women with kids there that need a dad in their life. It may be that these young women see a baby as a guarantee she will keep a guy. That being a wife means having a child with husband. Sadly, some women world wide believe that. What you are describing is what grandparents like..those close enough get perks of being with a little kid but do get to send them back to mom and dad. There are no guarantees in life..A young mom can die and an older dad can live to 100 but most over a certain age do not have the same energy. Hoping all stay healthy to raise the child and that any older man has financial provisions in place to support family if the mom is dependent.

OK. Your life, your choice. I plan to have kids. I wonder if I asked my kids in the future "Are you glad you were born?" I assume, I hope, they answer "Dad, that's the stupidest question you asked this week." I would never ask that of course, But it's an interesting perspective.

Hey it beats being a 'pay piggy' for a ready made family whose dad deserted their children and left a foreigner provider to pick up the pieces. Makes for a stronger family connection to have your own child together. If it gives an older man a purpose for living and taking better care of himself, it is a positive thing. Why is it a great thing to adopt children who aren't your own and a bad thing to have your own? Also, I believe there is an extra benefit for those living on social security. I don't really see a downside IF you really WANT more kids.

Since he already have 2 sons on his previous married. But unfortunately my younger sister siblings next to me is very poor and have 6 children with her husband. So I helped them out of raising their children's and also providing educational financial. Because they really wants to get a higher education for a better life that has a better offers of paying jobs! And finally they are experiencing of working now! I really think the decision to have a child at that age is totally up to the individual who cares what other people think but one thing that does bother me very much especially with what he was saying that people like Brad Pitt aren't with their children that is true but they do support their children Mark cannot afford this child this child will be supported by the United States taxpayers through Social Security Maybe there is a law being proposed that anybody who's never been in the United States will not be able to be a beneficiary to Social Security some more or less children born overseas will no longer get Social Security and I think that's how it should be why should the taxpayers bear the burden of a child who has never even been to the country. How do the PH view race mixing? While many people consider Asians white with Asian ethnicity, others say it’s a totally different race. Many countries don’t want foreigners having biracial marriages and biracial kids because they know it could ultimately dilute their race, culture and gene pool. I notice biracial people all over never really have a solid racial identity. I also have seen mixed race couples don’t understand the identity issues mixed kids could endure. Does the PH look at biracial Filipinos as Asian, the other race they’re mixed with or other? Just curious about it.
