Hunnm different people are writing different yoruba history, the history we were told by our great grand father is what ologundudu have said no self centre person can change it, in those days chieftaincy title is not just giving to dick and harry but to those who merit it people with good character,God fearing and those that their good works speak for everybody to see and of which nobody can fault. Alaafin has the authority due to precedence and history to confer the Are ona kankanfo of yoruba land.He can also confer chieftancy titles on behalf of Oyo(empire) as he pleases.

Alaafin of oyó only and he's not even in number 2 yoruba obas ranking because Oba of Benin senior Alaafin by far and had their empire before oyo. So Alaafin is just in number 3 or 4 ranking. Alaafin and Oluwo should stop their arrogance behaviours if they want yoruba people to respect both of them

The problem with Muslim Yoruba is trying to serve two masters, Eledumare and allah. As far as pure Yoruba is concerned, allah is an Orisha. Reading the koran and hadiths through, there's no mention of the name Olodumare or Olorun Oba, so why practice trado-islam?

People are just confused and are religiously brainwashed, Al-Lah is a moon god while Jesus is a sun god and they both borrowed from other belief systems around them at the time such as the Egyptians, Greek, Persian and Hindu traditions to form christianity and islam but, the priests, pastors, imams, ustaz, etc. won't tell you the true origin of their religion infact, most of them don't even know!

My brother, the problem here is languages different. Allah is an Arabic word which translate to God in English and different word in different languages.

@@kabiruolasunkanmi4061 As a matter of fact, Allah in not the same as Olodumare or even, the Christian God because Allah had three daughters namely Al-Lat, Al-Uzza and Manat while Olodumare and God of the Christians have none! Qu:53 19-22.
