Subclasses are at level 3 across the board for everyone. I don't think that will mess 3rd party stuff too much. Maybe a little tweak to rebalance it. They did experiment with standardized subclass progression early in the UA process but abandoned it. That would have really messed up 3rd party balancing. Tales of the Valiant actually went with standardized subclass progression and they have advice on how to convert subclasses that don't appear in the core rules into that progression. Druids using their own hp is a balance decision. Early levels (in current 5e) your bear is easily outclassing your fighter, especially in survivability. Temp hp instead of beast hp was their solution (Moon Druids get more temp hp, as they should). There is a loop hole because it also says that you can convert spell slots into a Wild Shape use (no action required) and you can then Wild Shape as a bonus action (all druids get this, not just Moon) and because you used Wild Shape you now get back maximum Temp HP (and can do this while in Wild Shape because you retain your Class Features). You can do this as many times as you have the spell slots to pull it off. Meaning the enemies will have to burn through your temp hp every round before they can hurt you.

I honestly liked the idea of statblocks, they just sucked, they should have had tons of customizable add ons for each one like venom, bites, spiderclimb etc with some sort of point buy. I don't really love how wild shape works normally, having to search for statblocks somewhere else is kinda doodoo imo
