One thing we all know is that taking care of an aquarium takes a lot of time. Well, Lucas Bretz of L.R. Bretz Aquatics takes care of over 150 aquariums ALONE.. he does all the maintenance manually. Talk about a full time job.
Lucas breeds 100's of fish each year including high end guppies, wild endlers and rare rainbow fish. He also is known for his freshwater shrimp. Lucas took first place in the red Neocaridina category of the USA Shrimp Competition last year. This guy is a mad scientist when it comes to fish tanks.

Collectoritis. I love large tanks but theres so much I want to keep and breed out for the hobby and to do it right it takes a lot of tanks, especially when it comes to creating new shrimp and keeping fish and shrimp lines genetic pool deep.

If I went to this man's fish rooms!!! I would never leave. What a wonderful setup you have man. I love the blue shrimp. I wish I could keep some, I feel I do not have enough experience yet to keep shrimp. P.s. I loved the Lil bit platy's that I saw, and the guppies have a special place in my heart. My great grandma had a 75 gallon filled with them. All different kinds fancey, fan tails, I pretty sure she had her own line of guppies. I that tank lasted years my whole just about. Such great work man.

If you heat the room, use one pump your increase is minimal. Of course you need to design your room to conserve heat and ease of maintaining water quaility.

Air pumps for sponge filters are about 1 or 2 watts per tank continuously. Lighting, maybe 5 or 10 watts per small tank. Your real cost is probably heating, depending on climate. In the summer, it costs me almost nothing for my 25 tanks, in the winter, maybe 50$ a month. I have them all in the same room in a similar setup. Water use is barely noticeable compared to a lawn and I change water constantly.

You have more fish tanks than my local fish stores. Each mom and pop aquarium store in my area has max 50 tanks. PetCo and PetSmart each has max 30 tanks.

So boring. Guppies and Rainbows, some nice shrimps (in extremely extremely boring tanks) - all mixed in together. Tanks peroxided to hell. Rainbows at the end randomly mixed so they're reduced to being purely ornamental -- fair enough to those who like it, but not my thing.
