Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are 2022 role-playing video games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for the Nintendo Switch. They are the first instalments in the ninth generation of the Pokémon video game series. First announced in February 2022, they were released on 18 November 2022.
Unlike the previous instalments in the Pokémon franchise, Scarlet and Violet take place in an open world. The games take place in the Paldea region, based on the Iberian Peninsula. There are three separate stories the player can follow. Scarlet and Violet introduce 110 new Pokémon, alongside two new regional forms. Also introduced are time-displaced creatures known as Paradox Pokémon, and the Terastal phenomenon, which allows a Pokémon to transform into its exclusive "Tera Type". The games maintain features from previous modern Pokémon games, including large open areas and Pokémon appearing in the overworld.
Scarlet and Violet received mixed reviews from critics. The games were praised for their open world formula and story, while their graphics and technical problems at launch received criticism. The games sold over 10 million copies in their first three days, making them Nintendo's biggest launch of all time. By the end of 2022 they sold over 20 million copies combined, making them the fourth best-selling Pokémon games of all time, behind Pokemon Gold and Silver by 3 million copies sold.

Even though I love Meowscarada the most out of the three, I absolutely love Quaquaval! I love that “I’m so fabulous” attitude and how out of nowhere it’s final evolution is. Plus the fact this thing shakes it’s tail feathers while doing a Brazilian dance in the opponent’s face and also that it’s kicks are so powerful truck while doing the cha cha is extremely hilarious!

Nah I'd rather not have a duck shake its booty in my face. I'm in the minority and like the smexy pokemon but this one just creeps me out. This is the only pokemon that sends legitimate fear through me whenever its sent out be it mine or otherwise. I thought I'd get used to it but nope. It is still creepy even close to a year later.

Honestly, for all the flaws I might find with Scarlet and Violet, I do think the starters are some of the best. It's the first time really ever that I love all the final evolutions equally, and the first time I actually had a hard time choosing my start. Before there was either one starter per gen that just felt "meh" to me, or one starter that was my instant favorite. Not this time though.

This is how I felt with Generation 1 and 2, each one had their good first, mid, and final evolutions that it was very, very difficult for me to choose which ones I loved the most. Gen 2 really stuck out to me considering a mouse pokemon, a cute grass starter, and a baby alligator to start off with. And their mid and final evolutions are definitely my favorite.

For me, thats gen 7, I like all gen 7 starters pretty well. For Violet, I used to kinda dislike all of them honestly, Meowscarada grew on me though. The other games I usually have one fave like you said, or they are HM slaves. XD Charizard can learn 4 HM’s. Cinderace, and Delphox are some of my faves though, though I like Braixen’s design a bit more than Delphox’s. Gen 1’s starters I dont care for that much honestly except as useful HM users. Gen 2, kinda same, Typhlosion prob my pick though. Gen 3, I feel like most of gen 3 pokemon is ehh? Blaziken is usually my pick here though. It is the coolest looking of the three. Gen 4, I dont actually care for any of the starters. Gen 5 I dont really care for any of them, Serperior is coolest though. Gen 6 Fenneken is best, my Favorite starter from all Gens. XD Gen 7, they honestly did amazing here, every starter is freaking amazing. Decidueye and Primarina are both my faves here. Gen 8, Cinderace is awesome IMO. Gen 9, Meowscarada. Honestly kinda think the other two are a bit ugly.

Skeledirge is a Day of the Dead singer. It's ghost type because the flaming bird that sits on it's head is a soul that's a different entity all on it's own that changes form based on what you have Skeledirge do. Out of the three starters, it's the most interesting to me.
