Arthur Bondar is a visual archaeologist and photographer who searches for and examines the unknown negatives of World War II. Artur showed "Novaya Gazeta" photographs of Valery Faminsky, who at the end of 1943 was sent to the 2nd Belorussian Front to collect documentary photographic material. From April to May 1945, he worked in Berlin, filming the city in ruins, exhausted by the many years of war, Soviet soldiers and local residents who met the news of the surrender of Germany.
The appearance of these photographs was impossible under the conditions of the military censorship of the Soviet Union, so for more than 70 years they were hidden in the Faminsky family archive. And only thanks to the chance and efforts of Arthur Bondar, the unique pictures were released.
