During any Pittsburgh Steelers game, fans can be seen waving their “Terrible Towels” - a tradition that began with broadcaster Myron Cope during a championship run in 1975. TODAY's Craig Melvin reports on how the towel became part of the city’s identity.

The Steelers played in two playoff games in 1972, the first game against the Raiders ended with one of the most famous plays in NFL history. There were no Terrible Towels at that game. The first Steelers players that fans saw embrace the TT were Swann & Stallworth, both of whom joined the team in 1974. In short, it was 1975 for certain.
