Thanks, it's great to see Pianoteq being pushed beyond "normal" piano sounds like this. I enjoyed the creative use of different controllers, and it's atmospheric and captivating to listen to in its own right.

PianoteQ is FANTASTIC!!!! For many years I have been looking for a piano that would make me dream..... Now it exists (and I have tried many before this one...).

This is fantastic. it is pushing me to purchase Pianoteq. I own Keyscape and solely use that but find that it can be a sterile at times. I like Pianoteq but could never get over the metallic sounds especially in the middle of the keyboard, but you have done here has opened me up a little bit more to the possibilities of Pianoteq.

Yeah, the two together are actually a really nice pairing! You might already know this, but if you do end up getting Pianoteq, another fun thing to try is running Keyscape through Pianoteq to add resonance modeling to Keyscape and breathe a little life into it.

@@andy-simmons thanks will check it out. Would you recommend VSL Yamaha CFX at all? I saw your video on it and sounds great but not sure of the CPU on it.

@@deyvidpetromusic I love the CFX a lot, but the CFX is also my personal favorite piano in general. I’d recommend trying it out first if you can, but I think VSL also allows returns in the first 14 days. It’s one of those things you have to play for yourself to really appreciate, and to know if it’ll perform well on your system. I’ve had a couple hiccups with it that I’ve never had with Keyscape or Pianoteq. They’re brief, but I don’t know that I’d use it live until I can figure out why it’s happening.

@@andy-simmons that is one of the reasons why I hold onto Spectrasonics' products so much is because they are rock solid. I can run multiple tracks with them and they don't even break a sweat. Keyscape feels great too, especially in the right hand it is one of the few VSTs where my wrists do not fatigue. How do you get Pianoteq to sound so full and get some of the metallic thinness out of it? It is one thing I always struggled with with Pianoteq and when play lots of notes together they can a little lost and just mush together...

@@andy-simmonsI'm a newbie in the VST world but I've been using Pianoteq 8 for a couple of days already and I like it, but I didn't know that Keyscape could run within Pianoteq. Can you tell me how that process go? Thank you in advance

How do you access and control the different pedals? I know physically you can use a sustain pedal that goes into your keyboard. What about the other ones (buff stop, celeste, pinch harmonics)?
@andy-simmons
@andy-simmons 5 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for watching! If your keyboard/controller doesn't have multiple pedal jacks, you can get a USB MIDI pedal interface (e.g. www.audiofront.net/MIDIExpression.php ) and plug additional pedals directly into your computer via USB.

You make me upgrade from Stage to Standard (Pro is to expensive for now)... You say "To be clear, you could make these types of sounds with any of the pianos", but which piano do you use here ? It sounds awsome. Thank you.
@andy-simmons
@andy-simmons 9 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and congrats on upgrading to Standard! It’s a lot of fun and opens up so many more possibilities than Stage. The muted loop at the beginning (where I’m just hanging on the middle D) is the Ant. Petrof, and the 2nd track (where I’m improvising all over) is the NY Steinway D.

Where do I adjust felt thickness?
@andy-simmons
@andy-simmons 9 ай бұрын
If you assign one of the pedals to “Celeste”, then right-click on the pedal, you can set values for felt position and felt thickness, as well as assign both to a MIDI CC.

Thanks for watching! Here are the presets and effects I used: Muted loop track (Ant. Petrof): forum.modartt.com/file/3oz5tk1t Improv track (NY Steinway D): forum.modartt.com/file/b1dawws2 The first track was sent through Panflow (free plugin) to pan it slowly back and forth, and Deelay (also free) to create a single ping-pong echo. Both piano tracks were then sent through Valhalla Shimmer (default preset), and the mix was automated to shift between 0 and 0.1 (10% wet), and finally through Eventide Blackhole on the default preset, 21% wet.
