Don't worry, these immigrants will be ones hiring them eventually if they want to work. There is one in New York whom obtained a loan from us (the bank I work for). She had 5 hair salons in 6 years. She, now lives in the northern suburbs of New Jersey. She does a lot of charity work for OUR people.

I don't inderstand. I moved out of Maine because I couldn't afford the cost of living there any more and I earned a really good paycheck. This vid says that there lots of jobs but they don't explain that they are low paying jobs that don't match the economy. Have the schools improved that much that they can now handle this influx of immigrants? 12yrs ago they were crying about the overload and having to supply many translators. That the state was paying for their housing, clothing and transpotation. This while Mainers were doing without. Complaining that the the population is ageing out and that young adults were moving away. But the young adults were leaving the state because of poor, low paying jobs. Lack of opportunity. So how can the political leaders justify doing this??? There is NOT the infrastructure in Maine available to support this. Maine has been bleeding industry and native Mainers for years.

Oh, I know, we're giving illegals three square meals a day but not our own kids. I like the guy who wants to continue his studies. I guess that will be on the taxpayers dime as well. I want a better life too but I don't see the government giving me free anything and I worked until I was seventy. The reason being that my husband, a twelve year Navy veteran, got sick and we couldn't get any health care from the VA. This really angers me since these illegals are getting free health care and have never served this country. Tell me I shouldn't feel this way!

@@machadofilm The homeless and asylum seekers aren't the same populations of people -- you realize that, right? Helping out refugees and immigrants is temporary and results in them very quickly and in very high percentage becoming contributing members of the community -- meaning more taxpayers to fund programs to aid the chornically homeless (who are often dealing with complex social issues like domestic violence, drug addiction, and mental illness). The City of Portland told NATO representatives that these people were totally welcome here. NATO purchased housing for the asylum seekers here. There were four treaties between the Pentagon, NATO, the United Nations, the White House, the Arab League and at least two other coalitions dealing with asylum seekers and refugees. The City of Portland encouraged the establishment of Portland Maine as a refugee center. NATO purchased housing for the refugees. But the City of Portland took the property and gave it to others, denying that there is anything for the asylum seekers, and offering instead a remote relocation camp in Unity, Maine. Look into Housing costs in California....landlords are increasingly rent exponentially making it hard for ANYONE to afford rent. It's happening everywhere. Homelessness starts when people no longer have a sustainable income to afford rent, food, medical and the basic costs of living. Everything goes up.... but the standard household income.

I lived in Portland for a year. The inhabitants are truly wonderful and kind. The well polished video, though, stays very far from even any trace of any normal problems. Welcome to them then, yet let us not forget that America always chooses its immigrants carefully. Is there anyone here who comes from Burkina Faso, New Guinea or Kosovo? It is always some choices of origins; in the preoccupying state of the world, we cannot take in everyone at the same time. Is it fair? Absolutely not. With the millions and millions of people who need help all at the same time, though, some kind of choices have to be made. Mauritania might be for tomorrow, and Kazakhstan as well

Besides it's is clear that these Asylum Seekers and refugees want help, most homeless people I've known want drugs or money to buy drugs - they choose to be homeless and drift. And those that don't want to be homeless, find a way out. * volunteered all four years at homeless shelters downtown during High School

I followed one of them on social media and the guy moaned & groaned for a FREE new cell phone because he dropped and broke it. Then he complained he ran out of cigarettes and wanted those FREE!! And it didn’t stop at that.... after three nights his back ached from the cots at The Expo Building and he whined so much the city paid for a hotel for him and his family for a few nights... then when they placed him in a rather spacious apartment up in Brunswick he complained he wanted a HOUSE!!!!! According to the Census, it turned out to be Maine. I have admired Anglo-Saxon civilization since always, well, being close to Boston, Maine is more catholic Irish than WASP, but that is okay with me. Now with this African refugee migration, it blew my plans for Main. My next option would be Alaska according to the Census bureau. ...

I have always wondered how or when the English ( Brithish) people were out-numbered by the Irish, the Germans and the scandinavian peoples, being this a British colony. My guess is :it was simply out-numbering the British by birth rate, just as the " Anglos " out-numbered the mexicans in Texas and California and ended-up stealing those mexican territories by settlement. But yes I' ve always noticed German origin in the industrialism and the building itself of the U.S. President Eisenhower was a big progressive indeed.

@mbrezovsky89

Austin Sullivan you know I can understand seeing how the media portrays immigrants how people would think that. But I have lived on the US Mexico border for most of my life. I have never once seen a lazy immigrant who just wants to mooch off the system. I go to University with a lot of immigrants from every corner of the world and they work just as hard if not harder than the American counterparts. My grandmother was a Mexican immigrant who came here poor and with nothing more than a 9th grade education and speaking no English . She passed away having 2 masters degrees and a career. So I would really love to know where you get off saying the majority of them are lazy? Or don’t want to work. I promise they work harder than any entitled American. And literally the only difference between someone like me being born and America and an immigrant is place of birth. Which they had no choice of you don’t get to pick where and when you’re born.
@mbrezovsky89
@mbrezovsky89 4 жыл бұрын
So you think homeless people just love being homeless? You think that people choose to be homeless? You think some of those homeless aren’t American? Aren’t say Veterans? To use one state out of 50 is seriously fallible argument. Each state has issues that need to be addressed no one state is perfect. I live in a city full of immigrants In arguably one of the most conservative places in the United States. We are all doing fine. People work hard educate themselves. We also have shelter for a lot of refugees despite the clear distaste the rest of the state has for them. So much distaste in fact someone took it upon themselves to drive over 600 miles to shoot possible immigrants. But you know you I’ll put it to you this way refugees come from places that are so overrun with corruption death poverty and atrocities that if anyone knows what a privilege it is to be here and to work here it’s them. You can sit there on your high horse saying that they are less deserving that you and other them. But I’ll chose not too. It is your right to do so, but I’ll chose instead to show kindness and welcome instead of treating entire groups of people like they don’t deserve something based on place of birth.

They are asylum seekers too. These are good people. Don't instill more fear into them by telling them the "administration" wants them out of here. I know many Christian Africans living in Portland who have no such fear and even speak highly of Donald Trump because they aren't surrounded by people who hate the President. Just be careful people.
