The egg farm area is honestly kind of cute. They get to walk around wherever they want in the area and even get a huge window to look out of. It’s not even very crowded compared to other farms.

This is definitely one of the more humane farms out there, at least these ones aren’t cramped in cages their whole life. I think this should be the minimum quality of treatment chickens get in factories

The law states that, with few exemptions, all animals must be stunned before 'sticking' (neck cutting) is carried out.” So the chickens are stunned and typically don’t feel pain

They probably aren’t showing you everything. I was raised in the rural Midwest. Family farms were taken over by places like these and we adapted. I worked at a few and it’s really sad.

@Emre Iliyaz Scalding. They are basically boiled alive. It's really an outdated practice that needa to be replaced. It's estimated that 1 in 100 chickens survive it and go on to be plucked alive

@@deaconlaw6465 if you watched the video you would know they are dead before the scalding step. They didn't go into specifics but I assume they just cut the neck. either that or wring it. They die pretty quickly and contrary to misinformation they are not boiled alive.

Wow, when I was in high school, we'd get hired to catch and load out chickens at night, grabbing eight chickens, four to a hand, and bringing them to the door. Someone there transferred them to the crates on the trucks. Unreal how efficient that system is now.
