Even though I see myself as a human in Azeroth, the Draenei are hands down my favorite race in the Alliance. They are so unique looking compared to the other races. I prefer giving them the nickname 'light demons' or 'space goats'.

And as a Warcraft fan, it makes sense to like the Draenei. I will explain why : The Draenei represent the only playable race in the game that is entirely unique to the Warcraft universe. Orcs, Dwarves, Trolls, Elves? You've seen them in other fantasy settings. But Draenei? They are Blizzard's creation. In a way, you could say that the Draenei are Blizzard's children.

The Draenei are my favorite race in the game, without a doubt. My main is a Draenei male Shaman. The reason I love Draenei is because they are the only race is in the game that is entirely unique. Orcs, Dwarves, Trolls, Elves? You've seen them in other fantasy settings. But Draenei? They are Blizzard's creation. In a way, you could say that the Draenei are Blizzard's children. P.S.: You sound like a Draenei yourself.

@@voidpunkprincess Tieflings and Draenei couldn't be more different dude. Draenei are more like Gith than Tieflings. The literal only thing they have in common with Tieflings is horns and a tail. Tieflings stem from infernal blood mixing origins from the Abyss or the Hells. Draenei are space aliens with weird star gods and advanced technolgy. They are nothing alike.

While Gnomes and Goblins are usually the tech geniuses, Draenei are actually the most advanced race on Azeroth with their alien technology. Just think about it, these are the guys that Sargeras himself wanted to recruit in his army.

True, but Draenei live much much MUCH longer then most other races. Gnomes have been confirmed to live a couple of centuries, Goblins however have notoriously short lifespans (due to their reckless nature and unreliable tech) but they do breed very fast in response. Goblins were just kind of an unexpected side-effect of an element, as they evovled from Pygmies. Gnomes had a more noble lineage from being derivied from Titan Forge (and kind of made the goblins, at least Mimron did). Draenei are super cool - but they don't seem too good at repopulating or defending themselves super well (given how many massacres they've dealt with).

The true power of the Draenei is maybe best shown in the war their counterparts on Alternate Draenor right now lead against the Mag'har. Their strength in technology, magic and the light is amazing and in theory the Draenei of our universe have the same resources. It is important to note here that Velen and his followers were always the more spiritual, paficistic part of their society. Side note: Playing Draenei as paladin is fun, I would sell her soul for an Eredar warlock, though.

Draenei also make great shamans too, due to their magic, healing racial, and strength. Utilizing crystalline conduits as opposed to primitive totems, they can harness the power of the elements in a way that’s advanced and in-keeping with their magical origins. I especially love Enhancement Shaman because it uses all the Draenei’s greatest strengths perfectly.

Azeroth is very populated though. Not much room for expansion. They should definitely make families in Bloodmyst Isle though as soon as it's cleaned up and blood elf survivors are yeeted to Orgrimmar. Might have already started off screen.

I love the Draenei due to how armors look when they were them, especially plate armors, bigger shoulders, a heroic pose, at first I didn't like the hooves because some nice looking boots weren't emphasized, but wearing robe-leggings solved it.

@Medicine Man Yes, the light gives them immortality but makes them it's servents just like how the lightbound draenei became slaves to the naaru in draenor. (If you have done the mag'har orc allied race unlocking) The naaru commands them to do something and they obey even if it's wrong. Velen knows that the light has it's slavery part. He could have make them lightforged in the thousands of years while the draenei were hidden on another worlds. Alex Afrasiabi even said "I hope we can make the future of the cosmos and be able to show the crusade of the light, the light corrupted planets where time doesn't exist and they are crystalized in solid light crystals, the same that the lightforged draenei are using"

@@dantoraomfg Where are you getting this whole thing where Velen could have made the draenei light forged? No he couldn't. He didn't have the powers ever to light forged a draenei. Xe'ra took all of velen's most elite warriors and split off with them forming the Army of the Light. Velen was left with civilians and most decent guards. It made sense why they struggled for so long cause Xe'ra took all of velen's fighting stock. Never once did it imply he could light forged.

@@salesiteisina7098 The lightforging process is not a magic, it's a spiritual ritual. And Velen knows more about the light than any other mortal being. He practiced with light and arcane magics for thousands of years and he even wielded T'uure to cure the draenei of a magic based sickness. He knows things about the light that only the Naaru are willing to share. "The light does not saves, it conquers" - Illidan.

For alternate mounts I can see Draenei from Azuremyst Isle using hippogriffs, as they were used for their flight paths for the longest time.

They use it for transportation, although I think just in Drustvar when the Horde are attacking, to deploy the Lightforged - its weapon systems blew out when it punched a hole into Antorus.

I have a cool theory: what if the draenei are the far distant ancestors of the protoss from StarCraft? If you look at the anatomical elements of both races, they're actually pretty similar, especially with the blue/lavender skin tone and shape of the legs. And I'm willing to go even further. If that would be the case, what if Aiur, the protoss homeworld, is actually Azeroth hundreds of thousands of years after the present events in WoW?

That would possibly be a bitproblematic. You see, this might be non-canon, but during a trailer, Chronormu sent us back in time but went waaaaaay too far back, showing StarCraft. Otherwise, yeah, interesting thought there but unless the trailer is non-canon this would simply not work. Also I'm not going to say that Aiur line. Instead..... MY LIFE FOR AZEROTH

The hottest women ( only Sylvanas is the hotter ) in WoW. Velen is one of three characters i respect in alliance side ( next to Anduin and Varian ). Pity they don't fight for Horde side bc that idiot guldan. I respect Draenei players and i have draenei alt. Also Happy New Year and Merry Christmass ( no matter if you are Alliance or Horde player , no matter if you support Sylvanas or Saurfang ). Good video Mr Dorons :) 👍

lol honestly if I was Velen after we destroyed the Legion, I'd just get all the Draenei to go on crystal football ship and fly away to a world to find peace, rather than stay and fight a war with the horde and lose more men.

It's called friendship and loyalty. The draenei have been building a new home in Azeroth in recent years, so why give them up? In addition, they once had the chance to go and the Alliance expected it, but they remained. And then remember that Velen is Anduin's mentor, and the Draenei loves Anduin as one of their own.

still not a good reason to stay just for "friendship", they only stayed because its WoW (meaning its the games mechanics, if they left then there would be no draenei race and everyone would be mad) In reality, I think Velen would've just built a spaceship and flew them the hell out of that war torn planet and finally live a peaceful life again. doesn't make too much sense having your already small populated race to remain as soldiers of an alien faction, continuing the decline of the draenei pop.

All this seems good, however BFA kinda ruined an aspect of the draenei with the mag'har acquisition quest, showing despite how Wod left on the idea of the orcs and draenei starting a new positive history on the AU draenor, turns out the draenei fell to the narru's manipulation and became light based zealots, showing they, just like the eredar thousends of years before, fell to another powerful entity and changed by it. This is why i prefer draenei monk and shaman, to get them away from the light worshipping bs.

It didn't ruin the Draenei at all. It simply showed that the Draenei, like any other race in the game, has members that do not think alike. The Draenei from AU Draenor are the equivalent of the Scarlet Crusade. For example, If Whitemane is a zealous lunatic, does that mean Anduin or Tirion are the same, just because they're Human and because they're using the light as a source of power? No, they're nothing alike. And we can tie this to Velen's Draenei. They would not attack the Orcs in the way Yrel's Draenei did.

Its Generally speaking. If Medivh is a 10 and the average human mage is a 6, while the average draenei mage is a 7, then the Draenei are the better mages. Da Vinci was a mastermind in painting and engineering but do we consider Italians to be best painter or Engineers? No.

Medivh was a rare case. He was Aegwynn's child and had Sargeras inside of him. No other Human in the Warcraft universe had that much power. But overall? The Draenei's age and inteliligence puts them above regular Humans. So, that makes them better mages.

not that powerful if they were able to be ripped apart by orcs with only a hand full of them left

They were caught off guard and was severely outnumbered . If the draenei knew that they were coming and had the men the orcs wouldn't stand a chance.

The Orcs and the Legion worked together to defeat the Draenei at Shattrath. Kil'jaeden summoned infernals and demons to assist the Orcs, who were already under the influence of Mannoroth's blood. The Orcs could not have defeated the Draenei on their own, even Gul'dan states so. If you're interested in the details, read "Rise of the Horde". Awesome book.
