How agarwood hunter find us the wood?
The Al-Battar Oud is produced with a premium class Agarwood, extracted from the bottom of the river in the island of Papua, Indonesia. The wood is very rare and hard to find. First, the agarwood hunter have to scan the river bottom to find a wooden texture in 5-10 meters deep river, with a long stick from the river surface. If they found a wood texture feeling from the stick, they will take a little sample of the wood from the bottom of the river to check whether it is agarwood or just normal wood. If the sample wood is confirmed an agarwood, they will have to dive in to the river with very limited diving equipment and try to scalp the whole chunk of agarwood manually in the bottom of the river. The extraction process of a large chunk of agarwood could took 6-8 hours until the wood is fully extracted. From the described process, We can imagine the level of difficulties to find the premium agarwood of highest qualities. From the jungle of Papua, The revived premium agarwood will then be shipped to our distillation facility. The distillation process of 40 kg of agarwood flakes took 8-10 hours, and will only produce 35 ml - 50 ml of pure premium oud oil.
