My dad was diagnosed with AML in mid-July and passed away the last day of September. He started chemotherapy in end of August. He was in remission after only 1 round. We had a bone marrow donor match and a scheduled transplant date. Then during the second round of chemo, the AML came back very aggressively. He checked into the hospital because of kidney problems, and then had a brain bleed (hemorrhagic stroke) 2 days later. He went into a coma and never woke up. We are heartbroken.

@@alyh2663 My heart goes out to you and your family. Know that God is there, as I have found, through my dad's AML. He was diagnosed last August and is continuing to fight through this. God has given me strength and comfort throughout this. Lean to the Savior, who can give you peace. All my love to you and your family.

My mother died last June 8 .. she diagnosed with AML. Last May 27 , she got a fever , she cannot eat well because of her sore throat. June 6 the initial diagnosis is AML due of her lab test. Her doctors says that she can live 2 to 3 months without chemotherapy... But she died 3 days after the diagnosis. Her oxygen level below 50 . She had an excessive nosebleed and her eyes become yellow. 🥺 Until now i can't believe it happened to my mom.

I'm so sorry about your mother's passing. My husband just past away a month and a half ago from AML and ALL after a stem cell transplant. It is so aggressive and it's so sad for the patients and the families. I'm so sorry.

Yellow eyes can be liver issues called jaundice. Had it during an allogeneic bone marrow transplantation. Nose bleeds due to low platelets.😢 Sorry for your loss.

This exactly what happened with my mum, she was diagnosed on 7th march, but she didn’t get treatment until later 16th march, then on the 19th or 20th she went unconscious and her kindeys failed, rest then her lungs, and all her other organs. She couldn’t eat or anything and had bad ulcers in her mouth and in her throat. She passed away on 4th april 2024. Her eyes were all yellow and her body was swollen and blue. I miss her alot, I cannot imagine the pain she went through. I miss you mum, wish you could come back.

My grandmother. just passed away after being diagnosed for 1 week. She was a young 77 year old female she had an elective knee surgery then after two months of saying she's not feeling well and the knee surgery we thought was the problem we took her in for stomach pain (which might have been from the opioids she took in rehab post op) causing diverticulitis then she had nose bleed the hospital did too many things to her and she died within a week. I am heartbroken!

My donor just bailed and I"'m taking it as a sign. Could you tell me more about the alternative measures you've experienced? I'm researching now and considering stopping chemo and the transplant. Thank you.

I lost my lovely daughter at her age 16 due to this . The doctor said that she was flt3 positive and need to undergo stemcell transplant . She underwent but had lot of complications thereafter. I now regret having gone for transplantation as she was in complete remission post induction

My dear friend of 40 years was diagnosed last summer, and died last month. He also had serious complications from chemo. It killed what was left of his bone marrow :( It's a very horrible diseased. My heart goes out to anyone fighting this monster.

My father was diagnosed on August 2 of this year. 7 weeks later, his blood counts continue to be severely low(hemoglobin 60, platelets 4), yet he remains in relative good health. His energy is low, yet he can occasionally golf. They give him up to 1 year, but my faith says he will be fine. Jesus still heals, just as he did 2000 years ago.
