In 2019, when Donald Trump still served as Commander-in-chief, Business Insider Chief Video Correspondent Graham Flanagan spent three days inside the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, Maryland where future United States Secret Service agents are trained. After the Secret Service came under scrutiny following the 2024 assassination attempt survived by former President Trump, Business Insider is sharing this extended, never-before-seen version of the speech that a group of new Secret Service recruits received on day one of their training in June 2019. Following is the original video published by Business Insider.

The training level of Secret Service agents must be raised to the level of special forces in terms of physical ability. Just looking at the video, none of the women look physically strong, and even some of the men are short or small

Height doesn't matter when you are going into a more 'direct action' position within the Secret Service. Such as Emergency Response Team, Counter Assault Team, Counter Sniper Team, HAMMER Team, Canine Explosives Detection Team, etc. Yes, tall agents that are on a protection detail is ideal but don't forget even in the military in Special Forces Groups there are short badass men out there that you would LOVE to have on your side.

@@gooney5956 I heard that special forces prefer people between 5’7“ and 6‘ tall because if they are too tall and heavy, their muscular endurance and stamina will be relatively weak. However, I think height and size are also important because detail agents are responsible for blocking the person being guarded with their body. Also, as you said, even if the height of detail agents is not important, strength and stamina are very important.
