Won't work...North American Hawks attack "head on", with their talons facing their prey (Seen them swoop on rabbits "out back", MANY TIMES...) For smaller prey, they latch their talons right on the neck, then "flip their wings", snapping the neck in the process...They are smarter than we give them credit for. That costume won't fool them in the SLIGHTEST!!! If anything, that get up will just restrict the dog's instinctive defensive maneuvers...Your ONLY options are A. Keep "Taco" inside, and watch him like a "hawk", whenever he goes out. B. Get a bigger dog, that the Hawk can't carry. Any dog 8 lbs or higher is too heavy for the Hawk to move to a safe location and consume, so, they NORMALLY won't attack prey that large...NORMALLY. A starving Hawk will hunt pretty much ANYTHING to survive (Within instinctive weight limits of course...) The hungrier the hawk, the bigger their perceived "limits"...OR...Just get a cat; Hawks HATE CAT'S, because they are so quick/agile...One second a hawk is swooping a cat, and the next, one of it's eyes are gone= No more hawk...

Hi, so cute, we have 2 Chihuahuas we use a decoy owl, when we go into the forest and even in the backyard. We can have a crow and raven problems. Seems to help quite a bit. 😊

The hawk vest is brilliant! I live in Whitehorse Yukon. We had an eagle camera set up years ago to watch a nest set up by a local society. It was in an area that a lot of locals and tourists go for walking etc. This poor couple who had driven up the Alaska highway had their little dog off leash and unfortunately momma eagle got him. So yeah. Everyone got to watch this little dog get devoured on eagle cam. 😢 Protect your little dogs!!

I have Coyote Vests (name of the company that sells them) for both of my dogs…we live in Southern Arizona, and have many predators around. We never leave them alone outside either (since our neighbors dog got scooped up by a massive hawk a few years ago) gotta keep the little ones safe!

Same here, we have hawks and foxes, etc so keep my little ones safely near me on walks. I also pair up 1 little dog with my larger dogs for protection too.

Careful...a neighbor of mine had her chi chi grabbed out of her arms by hawk .but hawk dropped her thank goodness not too high up yet..and her baby had a hurt rib that's it 🙏🙏

We had a yard full of people. Nobody saw the ospry. If I hadn't shifted my weight from one foot to the other, there would have been a tragedy that day. That bird's wing brushed my calf as he took flight, no tiny dog in his talons.

My chihuahua turned 18 two weeks ago. But she's looking at the Rainbow Bridge... even though she's blind. She has been the best companion anyone could ever ask for. Coming to terms with the end of her life is one of the most difficult things I've had to face lately. She has a great appetite. She can still hear the crinkling of a snack. Her nose works like a charm. Great idea with the hawk suit! I made my Chi a light suit. She also has a lighted collar for our night time walks. We try not to talk too much about her enormous ears! Lol ⭐❤⭐

Aww my Chihuahua Romeo is 14 years he's got Cataract in both eyes, he sees about 50% and a little hard of hearing but he's still lovable and adorable, hes the Fawn like Chihuahua he's been the best and I know I'm getting there also, when he goes ill miss him but I'll adopt a rescue dog after that to give another animal a good life.

Everyday is precious with these little babies. I have a 15 yr that is mostly blind and deaf. I can see her slowing down every day. It breaks my heart too because I know these days are precious. We bonded when she was a 2.5 LB puppy. Most of the time, she only wants me. I will be a mess when she leaves me someday but I gave her a great life. She has been a happy, loved, well taken care of princess for 15 years. I have another chihuahua that I rescued 10 years ago. Luckily she is a little younger and still full of energy.

I believe he is a Russian toy terrier. Like my little old girl. I read an article about the difference between them. The russian only gets to 5 lbs is less stocky more delicate features. And the pointed ears lovely.

I love the spiky jacket. Your dog looks very similar to my chihuahua. I live in Oregon in the woods where there are a lot of hawks and Eagles. I'm constantly looking up when I'm outside with her. I never thought of a spiky Hawk vest. I'm going to make her one today. Thanks for the great idea.

In Northern Minnesota in the town of Orr, that lake was/is known for a high population of Eagles and Osprey. There are many Eagle nests in the flooded tree areas. One year the wind blew down an old snag tree with a nest in it. I was surprised to count 9 pet collars tangled in the twigs and branches of the nest. That evening at the restaurant I was telling the bartender about it. He said that's common and that the Eagle nests are added to and reused each year, sometimes they can be more than 50 years old!

I have 2 chihuahuas and I won’t let them go out without us. We are there with them in the heat, cold, rain & snow. I have hawks and coyotes too. They will never get scooped up. They are my babies!

Brilliant! Eagles 🦅 are so big in my area. I see them in the sky & they look small but saw one sitting in front of my pond & it was 3.5' tall. It was taller than a toddler & stunning. The cattlemen next door said they shoot eagles because they kill new born baby calves by ripping out their backbones. The red tail hawks are abt 2' tall & fearless. I was in the yard & didn't realize a snake was near me til the hawk flew down & scooped it up near my foot. The osprey eagle is also around the same size. A neighbor in our community watched while 1 of her 2 snauzers was swipped by a coyote while she was able to grab 1. Trust yourself & forget what people think. You rock!

I Love Bentley. I wonder if he has vision problems "Jumping over light"? Hawkes & Owl would see any little cat or dog as easy prey for sure. They have amazing vision from hundreds of feet in the sky.
