I need to resize my ring and I'm worried about getting it right. A 4.5 ring sizer feels perfect to me now, in the middle of winter, but a 5 feels too big and can fly off my finger if I swing my hand around with lotion on. I have the small knuckles issue. Do you think a 4.75 will be big enough to allow for some mild swelling in summer or during exercise? Or will it still be too tight, especially when I add a wedding band? Thank you! I'm so stressed about it.

Hi @@chelseamikail, many thanks for getting in touch with your question. I could not see a reference to the current size of your ring, but if a US size 4.5 fits perfectly during Winter, then fingers normally tolerate the same fit even during warmer conditions for a single ring. Regarding a second (future) ring, my advice would be to visit a jewellery store to try two rings if at all possible, in 4.5 or 4.75 sizes and to see which of these sizes fit most comfortably ready for when you wear a wedding band. My best guess would be that both rings in size 4.75 would be a good solution since the overall width of two rings together will feel more snug, but this is very difficult to assess without looking at ring designs, widths and helping in person. Awesome video. I received my class ring but never really wore rings ever so I had some anxiety with some it. Plus it was not explained to me very well when I was sized. Glad to know that it does take a little resistance to get off! I always feared it getting stuck but it puts me at ease to know what is typical for ring fitment and removal.

Thank you so much for you video! I’m trying to figure out if I need to get resized. My fiancé initially got my ring in 6.25. It was sadly too big for my finger. When I went to the jewellers they suggested 5.5 but when I tried the 5.5 I was worried it might be slightly too tight so I opted for 5.75. However since my fingers usually run cold now I’m thinking 5.5 may have been the best fit. What do you recommend? Currently my ring is 5.75 but since it’s top heavy I still find my ring tends to move quite a bit from side to side, up and down.

Hi Jasmine. Many thanks for getting in touch. From what you've described, it does sound as though your ring does need to be a touch smaller. If it is turning on the finger then I would suggest you would benefit from a slight reduction again. It's always advisable for the ring to be a little snug rather than a touch loose. But check the thickness of your ring behind the finger and chat with your jeweller about any risk of the ring becoming too thin. Subsequent size adjustments can thin the band too much, so this needs to be assessed at the same time. @@serendipitydiamonds thanks Mark! Going to the jewellers today to resize to 5.5 (: I do find it funny that my engagement ring fits very well on my right ring finger versus my left at 5.75. For when I’m planning to get my wedding band, should I get the same ring size as the engagement ring or would 5.75 be better for breathing room?

@@Jasmine_CV Glad you're managing to get on and sort things. It definitely makes sense that it would fit better on the opposite hand. Since your opposite hand probably doesn't have a ring already (so no wear indent) combined with the fact that your dominant hand fingers will usually be bigger, that makes sense. If you're planning on having a slim wedding band, I would probably choose the same size unless you're planning to go much wider. I am sure your jeweller will have their own take on this, but hope that this has been some help along the way! Many thanks again for stopping by and for the lovely update ;-)

The jeweler was adamant that I'm a size T but the ring feels too loose. Then they was sure that I'm a V for a different finger and that ring feels too tight 🤷🏼‍♂️ I give up on rings

Many thanks for commenting. It can be very frustrating, which is one of the reasons we carry size samples in half finger sizes. All fingers measure differently, but by the sounds of your dilemma, a full or half size smaller than T would be a good size to try. Keep in mind also that the shape of the band and the width can affect the size, so always best to try a ring in the width and shape you are intending to buy.

@@serendipitydiamonds thanks for your reply. I told the jeweler that it was too large but she said no because of my knuckle? I still feel like S would be a perfect size even though a T isn't loose enough to fall off my finger on its own. I might just get one of those ring sizer things you put on the underside of the ring and then hope my fingers get fatter (because I'm quite skinny)

My issue is, the bottom of my ring finger where the ring fits is bigger than my knuckles (my knuckles are pretty flat when stretched out). So once the ring gets a little loose it will fall straight off the finger. My pass rings were size 7. Fairly comfortable, does not rotate freely but would move up if it’s pulled on and very quickly fall off. I went to a jewelry shop in my area and they recommended a 6.5 for my ring finger. They suggested the ring should not be pulled off easily, nor move while I’m doing daily activities. The size 6.5 fits snugged and does take a bit effort to remove from my finger. What do you think.

I recently bought a ring online. I ordered a size 7 but when I recieved it a month and a half later it felt too tight. This week it felt much better but im afraid if I gain a couple of more pounds it will be too tight. I only have a few days to mail it back out to be resized. Would you recommend going up to a seven and a quarter, or a seven and a half? It does slide over my knucle pretty easily. Thank you

Thanks so much for reaching out. It concerns me that the ring does already slide easily over your knuckle, so I would probably advise caution with just a very small size adjustment. At least this will be slightly less tight. And then, in the near future if you need a further adjustment it can still be stretched slightly, without the need to cut the ring and reduce the ring size. I hope this helps and good luck with finding the perfect size.
