We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version kzfaq.infoUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.

Right now we have a glitch on the keyboard that when you turn off the alarm on app and it shows off but when you open up the door it doesn’t make any ding noise and we look at keypad Alarm is On we have a old version and it’s random so is there other people that have the same problem with the old system? I thought it was a bug or glitch.

I’m glad there’s a home feature. Just ordered my first security system and chose SimpliSafe. I don’t feel like we need it here but since we have a baby on the way, I don’t want to take any chances. I’m always skeptical about having a camera inside the house because I feel like someone can easily tap in and watch me at any time. What sort of privacy securities do you have that would make me feel more comfortable being in my house with a camera?

Bruh. Ring is only for secure and if you have a big house, you might want to get ring since it’s heavy duty and tough and also more options but if your going with Simplisafe, it’s very easy to install and the cameras give out lights flashing or not flashing when there’s an error going on and you can check the app, what that light means. So I would choose Simplisafe :)

Hi there! Our SimpliSafe systems are equipped with cellular backup. Therefore, in case of a power outage, all your detectors and sensors will still be able to work and we can dispatch help! Our cameras rely on WiFi to work, so they would be unable to operate in case of an outage.

Also sometimes if you put the motion sensor in the correct place, it doesn’t work so can you work on that and give us a software update on that? Thanks so much!

Hi there! We recommend installing Motion Sensors onto a wall or on the edge of a flat surface 4-5 feet off the ground for it to operate correctly. The Motion Sensor uses passive infrared technology to monitor changes in temperature over a period of time. When setting up the area to test the Motion Sensor we recommend waiting at least 2 minutes before walking across the area that it is monitoring. Our engineering team continues developing new features on our systems, and we'll keep you updated if and when we roll them out someday. Yes but you have to have a service plan. Only plan that will work without wifi is a monitored plan with cellular backup

Additionally, the Panic Button is programmable for Law Enforcement (with either a silent or audible alarm), Fire, or Medical Emergency dispatch as well. Hey there, Leo, thanks for reaching out to us here at SimpliSafe. The Keypad looks for signs of nearby motion to startup in case someone is approaching it. This feature can diminish battery life, but it can be disabled by enabling the power saver on that device. Their sensors filter out pets. It works fine in my house.

I have a question, my safe word doesn’t save. So when I try to put a safe word, then save it, it wouldn’t go through and it says “Contact Customer Service”. Can you please help?

We normally set it to home so if our animals are out they don't set off the alarm cause home disables the motion sensor but turns on the door sensors and window sensors

I am really happy with the security system, however, in case anybody thinks that the system can turn on your lights when you get home like they show in the video, it is Simply not the case.

They have terrible customer service so I’m regretting purchasing this system only 2 hours in to having it. I was sent a faulty device and told that I need to return the defective item. When I explained that I don’t have a printer to print out a return label and asked for it to be printed out and mailed to me, I was told to go to the post office to print out the label to send it. I explained I cannot get to the post office during work hours and don’t have transportation, I was told I should take off work and get a ride to do it. The faulty device costs $20. I find it really troubling that getting the faulty device back was worth the inconvenience returning it would cause me as a customer. They need to send out a return label before imposing this on customers.

BEWARE - I have a relatively extensive system with 6 external and 2 internal cameras, all the motion detectors, entry sensors, CO/fire monitors, etc. As such, with thousands invested - it is not easy to change systems at this point, but I may be forced to. Unreliable, weak software that conflicts easily, and poor customer service that always blames any problem on your Wi-Fi connection - despite having a strong 6 unit nested Google system. I have had 4 different alarm systems on homes in the past, and if I had it to do over, I would not choose SimpliSafe again. Just too many problems, the unreliability of the system is frustrating and time consuming.

Talking to your tech support is a waste of time and very frustrating - they just read from a script and don’t really know how it works, much less how to fix it.

How can Simply Safe get the police to your house faster when the democrats are dismantling the police, defunding the police, there are more police retiring early, taking different positions, quitting police forces, lowest police moral, less people are wanting to be a police officer, going easy on crime policies, cashless bail, proposition 47, and with less police, response time takes longer? This simpli safe must work best in safer Republican lead cities, or be simpli majic.

Agreed SimpliSafe system is easy to install. It's a good monitoring system but for the poor quality of their video doorbell camera from internet connectivity standpoint. I did purchase it along with the Video Doorbell Camera but the camera goes offline (no live stream) with a message 'Disconnected from the internet' every 2-3 minutes. SimpliSafe attributed it to my poor Wi-Fi network when in fact I have 5 GHz-600 MBS speed bandwidth along with six Google Nest Wi-Fi routers. When I complained to SimpliSafe, they asked me to the split the Wi-Fi network into 2.4ghz and 5ghz since SimpliSafe doorbell camera works only with 2.4ghz bandwith (this they do NOT say anywhere). I did the split and connected the SimpliSafe doorbell camera to 2.4ghz Wi-Fi network but in vain. The camera went offline as ever before. They sent me a replacement camera which too had the same 'going offline every 2-3 minutes' issue. I repeatedly called SimpliSafe and asked for a good solution. They had the cheek to say I should move my internet router (which is about 10 feet away from the doorbell camera) closer to the doorbell camera. That was the last straw that broke the camel's back and I canceled my subscription service. While the rest of the SimpliSafe system works, the doorbell camera does not since it's outdated. Today's doorbell cameras support dual bandwith (2.4ghz and 5ghz) and SimpliSafe lags behind, thanks to their outdated technology. I am currently using the SimpliSafe doorbell camera without the video recording feature from the web interface (smart app disabled due to my monthly subscription cancelation) though the the camera goes offline every 2-3 minutes but then I am not paying $27.99 for the poor quality of the camera. I can't return the equipment since I am past the product return window.
