No, no, no. Not at all. The whole huge show thing with crazy props and lights is kinda played out. Daft Punk basically started that with the Alive 2006/2007 Tour. But they had some awesome music. After that, you had Deadmau5 and all those show DJ/producers. Most of the time, the music is just quite boring. Preproduced entry level music, nothing live. Nothing experimental or revolutionairy. Just music for people who like EDM (which means they never knew any electronic music before, they would've called it techo, house or whatever). I don't even hate Skrillex. The fans are the annoying ones. You want to hear some great experimental electronic music? Listen to Aphex Twin's new album Syro. Skrillex already said his favorite song of all time is an Aphex Twin tune. Aphex Twin basically made fun of that in one of his recent interviews when he said his 6 year old son likes Skrillex. And check Windowlicker while you're at it. Thank me later.

Fair enough he became successful but hes no visionary, he just took influence from everyone else and threw money at it, he was at the right place at the right time, im sure deep down he knows that and good for him he has done well financially but there are thousands of producers and djs that are better but missed the chance because of the luck and random of success

I think on this sort of thing a lot lately. I am now 32 years old and haven't become famous or accomplished really big things even though I know I do have talents. It is true that we all can't be famous artists/musicians or doctors or high level scientists. It probably is healthiest to keep a balanced view and to be more realistic. It is hard to accept a more humble life, but that does also have it's benefits and as long as you are someone who goes through life learning and growing, that is what is most important. Every person who contributes to others in whatever way they can matters. If you talk to people, however few people in your life, with an open mind and with a real desire for growth, any little conversation between people can be a part of cultural developments and people changing for the better. We might not all be able to be so free to do whatever we want or simply enjoy life, but I know I do still enjoy even the smallest of things. I don't play to huge crowds of people, but I still make music that I enjoy or some one else can, however little. Just going outside and playing my recorder, lol my mom says she hears the sound of my recorder flowing through the air into her house and it sounds so neat. I really liked that point Sonny made about being around creative, positive, open minded people. It really is important. Our environments do also have so much power over us. I wish I could just find a place to go where people were generally more positive and encouraging but I don't know where or how I'd do that. I also can't just simply shake off the mental programming I grew up with. At least we can try to do the best with what we do have. This is something I'm trying to believe or learn or I guess you could say embody, but I am finding it difficult.
