How does feedback control work in an SMPS to regulate the output voltage or current?
Feedback control in an SMPS (Switched-Mode Power Supply) is used to regulate the output voltage or current by continuously monitoring the output and adjusting the input to maintain a stable output.
The basic principle of feedback control in an SMPS is to use a feedback loop to compare the output voltage or current with a reference voltage or current, and then adjust the input to the SMPS to maintain a stable output. The feedback loop typically consists of a voltage or current sensing circuit, a comparator, and a control circuit.
When the output voltage or current deviates from the reference voltage or current, the comparator detects the difference and sends a signal to the control circuit. The control circuit then adjusts the input to the SMPS, typically by adjusting the duty cycle of the pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal that controls the switching of the power transistor in the SMPS.
By continuously adjusting the input to the SMPS, the feedback control loop can maintain a stable output voltage or current, even in the face of changes in the load or input voltage. This allows the SMPS to provide a regulated output that is stable and consistent, which is important for many electronic devices.
There are several different types of feedback control circuits used in SMPS designs, including voltage mode control, current mode control, and peak current mode control. Each of these control circuits operates slightly differently, but they all rely on the basic principle of using feedback to regulate the output voltage or current.
Overall, feedback control is an essential component of SMPS design, and it allows SMPSs to provide a regulated output that is stable and consistent, even in the face of changes in the load or input voltage.

Tapos sir Andrew may napanood din ako ang single stable na 19vdc na smps ng gamit sa laptop ay ginawa nyang variable 0v to 32vdc at may nabili din ako universal smps at kapag nag vary na ang voltage at naka monitor ako sa infrared led ay stable na 1vdc so naisip ko current ang nagpapaliwanag ng emit ng infrared
