And the sources of energy were developed locally - for example, most machines in and around the Egyptian delta ran on water - hydropower. I think as much as possible we should try running things on locally sourced energy and when it can't be helped depend on oil. This prevents pollution and isn't it a more mature and responsible way of looking at energy. We have to think globally and not from this frightened nationalistic and protectionist perspective! After all, we are GLOBAL leaders and not leaders of some corner!
