Here in our country a cup of Starbucks is equivalent to at least 15- 20 cups of cheap coffee (the ones you can in groceries).

I would be interested. I worked at Starbucks 2 times. Once in 2004 and again in 2014. Yes, the employee atmosphere is a COMPLETE REFLECTION of the way the customers behave. It used to not be so bad but after the big coffee house boom of 2006 when people started becoming obsessed with their coffee then I noticed it starting to get worse. You see the same damn customers Evey day and they bitch about the same thing every time. It was not uncommon whatsoever for employees to gossip about the customers. We all have our favorite customers AND most hated customer. It's actually part of the Starbucks culture to gossip about the rudest, dumbest customers.

I work for Starbucks. The company does care for its employees,there are many,MANY accommodations for employees with disabilities or hardships. Work for a year,you get access to company stock. Paid maternity leave,ect. As long as it's a company owned store and not one inside of a store,airport or mall anyway. They care about coffee and they care about people. Though sometimes,the employees get away with too much because of how many chances they get to straighten up....

First off they have annual raises, second like all companies benefits and wage go hand and hand and determine one another. We are working as baristas, a skill easily learned, 10$ an hour is average, plus we get tips. Bur we also get free stock that is ours every single year, we get a matching 401k, as well as full health and vision and dental coverage at cheap costs (36$ per check for better than average work offered insurance) . Plus we get paid vacation and paid sick days. Also maternity leave lmfao. Stabrucks is also really good about promoting from within and enforcing promotions. They also provide us financial support if we fall on hard times. Youre clueless bud

I used to work at starbucks at the Airport and all I can say is many people hate it but still by their coffee it’s not just a coffee it’s somehow a status of life people would love to show, I can afford it! But it’s a lot more behind it than just a expensive coffee!! I wish and hope the would raise the salary of their worker in some country they earn really bad. I was lucky enough that I was working in Switzerland.

I am from Singapore and I do not visit Starbucks. I think their customers are mainly young people with a lot of pocket money and young professionals.

While I agree with u that Corporate doesn't always want to listen to the baristas, it's not always like that with getting ur drink so late. Every store is driven by the demand from the nearby area. That's how each store receives the amount of hours that are going to be divided by its employees. If the demand on a wednesday night is usually low it doesn't make sense to have two people on bar. It's usually a matter of how the shift leads "play call" their shift. If the shift lead clearly doesn't know what they are doing or doesn't particularly care about efficiency than ur likely to get ur drink late. But if u got good shift leads they know when to step in or when to let their baristas take care of it. It all depends on the store. If ur local store is not very good in that regard, see if u can try another one nearby. Just like with every company and every store there are less than great employees that drag the service down for whatever reason. - Ur local barista

+Mo P Well said. I have the same respect for Howard Schultz ... I only wish I have half of the entrepreneurial visionary and confidence that he has. True, Starbucks doesn't have the best coffee (yet it is *NOT bad* ), but I keep reloading my Starbucks card just because of my respect for Schultz (even though he's no longer with the corporation.) I do feel sad that the present day Starbucks doesn't quite hold up the standards set forth by Schultz in terms of customer experience ... and merchandise styles and quality as well (I used to *LOVE* collecting Starbucks stainless steel tumblers and bought a lot of such products from their online store (which had been closed down ... don't know why they would want to do this.)

Actually Nespresso killed my Starbucks habits, unless its a hot summer day and I want an iced coffee.

xr6lad I was on the team that refused Starbucks to lease a flag ship building in Sydney Australia. I was the only American on the team. The Aussies felt it was akin to putting a McDonald’s in the building. And Australia has great coffee on its own merits.

You know what...now that I think about it. I don't remember seeing a Starbucks in Rome, but I do remember that good-a$$ coffee I was drinking while I was there....nothing like anything I've ever had in other countries.

I lived in Australia and I loved the fact that they dont have starbucks there. the coffee tasted like real coffe and not syrup coffee starbucks serves.

World for the Americans is 'America' itself.. most can't think beyond it. Yet I'd say the way they expanded their business convincing people that it's the best coffee is an admirable business strategy.

Latte means milk in Italian. Other than in Italy, a latte is basically just espresso on the bottom and the rest filled with milk.

What you said is true for the present day food products--I think Starbucks gets their prepackaged food from the standard huge mass-produced suppliers, whereas in the olden days, they got their pastries from smaller purveyors, and *NOT* "factory-packaged" like what they have now-a-days with all the poisonous artificial ingredients and preservatives.

They have fancy sounding breakfast sandwiches that come in a vacuum sealed plastic like it's some kind of gas station hoagie. Where the frick is this sandwich factory?

Starbucks is ridiculous when it comes to drink standards. 4 years ago when I worked at a Starbucks in an airport, there were 4 steps to making a drink. 1, stream milk, 2, press the espresso shot button, 3. Pump syrup flavors and hopefully put it under the espresso spout by the time it starts pouring (most of the time it doesn't), 4, pour the milk. If you strayed from that, you would fail a secret shop. Yeah, everyone had their own style of making drinks. During a rush, I would fill ALL of the milk pitchers and steam ALL of them one after the next so that I would have milk ready to go. Do you really think I'm going to sit there and stream one pitcher at a time per drink??? That would take forever and customers would get mad. You can bet your ass that I also put the syrup in all the cups in the line. And not being allowed to make more than 1 frappuccino is bull shit considering how LONG they take to make.

The training of a coffee Barista is crucial. The coffee bean being processed is an art. The brewing or cooking of the coffee bean is 4 minutes actually. The drying process of the whole bean, is essential as well. Burning can happen quickly if not observed and carefully crafted. That's why temp readings are also done. Grounded coffee that is freshly done is far better than buying already ground coffee. Regardless of sealed mylar packaging.❤

True is bad custumer service 80% of the time and the product in my opinion is not good just personal opinion the meat isn't good tasting. But is convenient I do like the Fille O Fish, Mc nuggets, frape, and their French fry... is functional do I prefer a restaurant yes do I have the time between clients to sit in a restaurant every day and eat calmly no so Mac is a solution for when I just need to get un hungry quick lol

Same I go to Starbucks because is right next to my office and there is one down stairs from my building and one in the marina so if I crave coffe and dont have time to drive 15-20 min to a nicer place then Starbucks gets my business. Do I think is the best coffe no do I like their brand no. But is cheap and functional

Schultz ("Starbucks") DELIBERATELY over-roast their coffee to MASK the low quality they roast. It IS just that simple. Also, they ("Starbucks") nearly were shut down in the early 1990's by the federal govt. as per deliberately for YEARS defrauding the customers on supposed Kona coffee which was FALSELY labeled. It was simply a mix of Costa Rican and Colombian. Schultz is a thief and liar, period. PERIOD!
