We got a call for a 4 wheeler that was trapped at the bottom of the sand chute.
He went for a Sunday ride and went down to the virgin river, a little further than he was supposed to!
Luckily for him his uncle owns Matt's off road recovery and can come rescue him!

This is the type of entertainment You Tube need to focus on.. A family man running a family business and making an honest living by doing what he loves... No political agenda, No fake drama, no bull s#%@... As long as Matt and Casey keep making these as entertaining as they've been (No pressure) I will keep watching and enjoying... I cannot say thank you guys enough for spending your time entertaining me while I'm out of work (beer bug got me laid off for a month or two)...Between this channel and one or two others I've been able to keep my sanity and stress levels lower until I can get back to work.... So again Thank you...

@@1969darr it was definitely said to see a four-wheeler getting stuck or not having enough power in my opinion the motor was probably pretty wore out and didn't have enough compression left to do its job anymore. Basically a wore-out tired four-wheeler. But I do understand the need and want for any kind of four-wheeler their fun. But definitely no its limitations before you go out.

I grew up on a farm and used to run around the country with a buddy in my dad's 1953 Chevy 3600 pick up. Nine times out of ten when we went running we would get stuck somewhere. Then hike back home and get a tractor.

There was one view from the camera man that showed somewhat the actual steepness of the hill, it appeared to be better than 45 degrees, and straight down! Keep up the great videos, I’m sure there will be many more to follow.

Out in the desert under a big sky, you can get some really weird optical illusions because of the vastness of the terrain. Depth perception & distance goes to pieces, and you really don't understand what you're getting into 'till you're in too far. (If you haven't been in too far before and have learned to recognize the trick of the eye ;) ) Cameras just make it worse. That's why you can't capture the Grand Canyon on camera and do it justice. You just don't know how big a hole in the ground that thing really is until you start down the hill!

I've done a lot of hill climbing in the sand on quads. Utility quads like that Honda Foreman which is probably only a 400cc engine (looks old), are just too heavy to be able to hill climb very well in really soft sand like that. Also, his tires were complete garbage--completely worn out. Notice the lighter sport quad with better tires had no problem getting out of there without help. Kids will be kids--they way overrated the capabilities of that old Honda ute by going down into that ravine. I'm very impressed that Matt, being his Uncle, didn't show any anger towards these kids at all. He just quietly pulled them out like they were another customer.

This is one of the most entertaining videos! Wow... two XJ's to get a little quad out of there. I gotta go visit that hill next time I'm in the area. Wish it wasn't an eight hour drive there.

I feel like the quad could’ve made it once the tires were aired down. Impressive that a Jeep can get up that hill on that loose sand.

That other Quad must of made it & it was 2wd. Needed new tires & pressure down. Also with a quad like that you don’t drive in a straight line you zigzag turning the wheels side to side because the inside front tire will spin faster than the outside tire of the turn. I do that a lot on my Honda. When I start to bog down I start to turn side to side if it be in snow or sand & when it’s steep but I would of liked to see that other quad drive out.

This looks like a perfect reason to buy soft shackles. Those hard shackles midline on ballistic rope make great projectiles if she comes loose.

Man, I know what you mean about video flattening a hill. I recorded a slow hill climb that had my sphincter tight the whole time. Then watched the video and it looked dang near flat. Thanks for you videos. Cool drone shots at the end.

When we colonize Mars we’re going to need you to train the astronauts how to do recoveries. I bet Utah is similar. Or you just go there to save them all. Like Armageddon but with the yellow banana.

It'll need a super dooper charger cuz the air is 96% co2 and 100 times thinner. Heck, it'll need oxygen.

Yep, when he bogged near the camera, he just looked over and shrugged in defeat. At that point he definitely should have already been lower than 3rd. Matt made me laugh too. "What happened? You didn't shift down?". Hopefully this taught him a little. I know as I grew up playing hard, it was the predicaments I got myself out of that taught me the most. However if I did end up needing help, I payed attention.

Hey Matt, you guys should look into wiring in a toggle or rocker switch for the 2nd gear solenoid. That way you can disable the 1-2 shift to keep it from shifting back and forth. There is alot of info, just google aw4 transmission second gear lockout. When wired in you can leave the switch off and it will shift normal or you can flip the switch and put the shifter in 1/2 and it will stay in 1st until you flip the switch back. Always great content. Love watching your recoveries.
