You can choose whether or not to drink smoke, do weed,etc. you cannot, however choose to be depressed, upset or have mental health issues. It is something you are born with based off of a neurological and chemical imbalance you did not get to choose that you did not get to check on a sheet whether or not you wanted that as you were being created in your mothers womb OK there is absolutely no shame whatsoever in seeking treatment for mental health issues/going to therapy. It is literally life-saving to billions of people and I wish more people would do it anybody who tells you you are not straight edge because of it can fuck off and is literally what we do not want/does not belong in the straight edge community whatsoever. I cannot think of a more straight edge thing, then telling somebody not to take Steps, healthy steps to better themselves.

taking medication is important, and taking medication you need doesn't make you not edge! also therapy etc is important too, even for people who don't have any mental illness, etc. I agree with you, and taking meds and going to therapy is important, yet you can still be edge

I agree everybody’s entitled to your opinion, but my opinion, is that your opinion in the very last few seconds of this video is complete, utter trash and bullshit there is absolutely nothing wrong with getting therapy/mental health treatment. If you have a serious chemical imbalance that you did not ask to be born with there is a huge difference between choosing to light up a cigarette smoke pot drink a beer have a shot of whiskey or alcohol or liquor, and using that as a coping mechanism, because you have the choice to choose that you do not have a choice to be upset or depressed, or have a mental illness it is not a light switch that you can simply turn on or off everybody including yourself in this planet gets depressed organisms get depressed animals get depressed I would argue that almost every living embodiment of life gets depressed and so for you to say at the end of the video just be stronger get through it. Yeah it’s not that easy OK again this is your opinion at the end but this is mine and anybody who says that you are not straight edge or breaking edge because you are taking medicine prescribed by a trained licensed doctor, who went to years and years of tough medical school is a complete utter joke, and is the very opposite of what straight edges straight edge is not only about not drinking or doing drugs straight edge is about bettering yourself as a person that goes for leaving your toxic boyfriend/girlfriend or toxic friends behind in general it’s about recognizing maybe I’m a bit overweight and I want to work hard to lose some pounds and be healthier. Hey maybe I eat unhealthy so I’m gonna eat healthier so that I feel better, I know this is a very long ass comments but your opinion at the end is complete bullshit.
