A: Due to the convolution of heroes scaling and canon, I didn’t want to speculate how strong he could be when there is very little proof he does scale to the Heroes' cast. When I was a kid, I always thought Garlic Jr. was Pilaf's brother or something. Also thought I missed a prior movie or early DB episode because the lore between his father and Kami seemed to big to not have been an episode.

The most funny thing is, is that Garlic Jr. can actually kill every person in the universe, probably except Moro, simply due to his immortality alone. If he never opens the Dead Zone, in every battle he fights, yeah, he'd get curb stomped, but Garlic Jr's immortality renders him unable to suffer from fatigue. Eventually, all of his opponents would wear themselves down and since Garlic Jr has proven he can perform incredible feats of power, he can kill them. There is also the option of just allowing his opponents to tire themselves out so much before he opens the dead zone on them as well. #17 and #18 are p much the only exceptions given that they do not suffer from fatigue or energy loss. If Garlic Jr could get stronger with every injury he took, he'd be insanely OP.

I think the easiest way to put Garlic Jr's Deadzone feat is: A hax feat. Garou was able to enter and manipulate a Hyperspace, yet his APT at high ball is small Galaxy level, far below what would be needed. Garlic Jr. likely is similar. Ki works in varied ways, so it IS most likely a feat, but just a hax one vs something like DBS Broly, where Gogeta and Broly create an entire 4D Pocket Dimension before proceeding to destroy it with raw APT.

I feel like the Dead Zone is just a portal he can open that he prides himself on having a bit too much. This is the biggest example of a movie breaking power scaling I can think of, and if he did have 4D attack potency (lol) he wouldn't need to rely on using the Dead Zone as a trump card.

As I exist as the sole Garlic Jr. fan where he's my favorite villain from the movies, any video about him that shows him modicum of respect gets an immediate like and subscribe.

Well he is a movie villain so he could be unbelievably more powerful than the regular at the time like Broly and Janemba and Hirudigarn, but I doubt he'd be above Planet level myself, but I do agree with a lot mentioned and this could be a really unique way of looking at the character.

I think with the Dead Zone, he just has the ability to open a portal to it. This is a creation technique with destructive properties, not a direct destructive capability that Garlic JR can casually whip out with every attack. Think of the universal Spirit Bomb that Goku can do, and imagine it being used by a Goku that just learned how to form the Spirit Bomb from King Kai a few hours ago. The attack itself is extremely powerful, but the user is not. Same thing with Garlic HR & the Dead Zone.

I think I'll point to Garlic Jr as an example of how ridiculous power scalers can get. Characters from other franchises that are barely shown destroying walls are apparently universal thanks to one vague statement or a semi impressive showing or ability that ultimately amounts to nothing but speculation.

A simple answer is that Garlic Jr’s. Power depends on his proximity to Makyo Star, the closer it is the stronger he gets In beginning he was within the strength of pre Saiyan Saga Piccolo and Goku, but was surpassed by Gohan’s unbound power After Namek in his Anime filler return, Garlic Jr. was stronger, not only powerful enough to set himself free from the Dead Zone. But strong enough to give Gohan and Piccolo trouble after their time at Namek It’s safe to say he’s not as strong as SS Goku, but over time we the Makyo Star got closer, he got stronger over time Combined with his immortality, he’s tough to beat, as over time he might have surpassed Goku with Makyo Star close to Earth So Gohan destroying it was wise as it made him powerless and trapped in the Dead Zone for all eternity as he couldn’t even die Had he not been defeated and usurped Kami as evil God of Earth, his potential would be unbound over time, especially if he decides to train as with his immortality he has all the time in the world

Terms like "moon" and "planet" arnt really descriptive of an objects size. What really defines a moon or a planet is the nature of the objects orbit. Planets orbit the sun, moons orbit anything smaller than a substellar object that is itself orbiting a larger object. Although this necessitates that the moon be smaller than its parent object, it doesn't mean that moons must be smaller than planets. For example the planet Mercury is smaller than Saturn and Jupitor's moons of Titan and Ganimede. And it doesnt stop there. Theoretically gas giants having moons the size of planet Earth isnt unfeasible either. So the concept of "planet level" and "moon level" doesn't really work when using it as a measure of magnitude.

Just because Garlic Jr can create an alternate hyperspace dimension doesn't mean he scales to that. It's just a unique Ki ability he has he isn't even on Raditz's level just because he has an ability that could theoretically beat anyone. Anybody with a higher ki than him could do what Gohan did to him when he uses the deadzone so it's a double-edged sword desperation move at best. Anyways, I wish Garlic Jr was the canon final villain of the OG Dragon Ball anime and Toriyama had came up with this character/concept and made him canon. Sadly, that didn't happen and it's a shame because his backstory could easily fit into the manga's story as Garlic Sr was according to the movie's plot sealed and defeated by the "Nameless Namekian" which would make him a being stronger than Kami or Piccolo separated by default. He could have also been made the source of being the reason why the evil in Kami had become so strong that he had to split in two to begin with.

I don't understand why they haven't given Emperor Pilaf his due and basically turn him into the same character that Garlic Jr was? Hed be better because he'd have his own backstory, motivations, plans and goals. I get he's comedic relief but Pilaf vs Goku could be a pretty big deal of a fight and fan service to long time haha of the original manga and anime.

12:12 yeah no kidding like the guy made multiple statements about how DBZ movie broly is the strongest fucking character in the DBZ anime.

Garlic Jr's normal form is small and his transformation is large same as Frieza's first two forms. His henchmen resemble the Ginyu Force (two huge guys, one short one and one average white haired one). It took place after Frieza so it makes sense. If we go by official levels Tard and Zold should be above 75,000(Krillin) but below Gohan(200,000) who were both stated to not have trained for 10 months. Tard easily beat Krillin, and Zold was able to hurt him with a blast a bit. Gohan was able to block a combined blast from them so their combined powers should be below 200,000 or at least equal. 120,000 for Tard and 80,000 for Zold seems ok. Vinegar's punch was able to hurt a serious Gohan and the Masenko wasn't able to completely destroy his body as it did Tard and Zold so he should be stronger than them, around 160,000. Gasshu was able to go toe to toe with Gohan and even outspeed him so he should be around 200,000 as well. Makyo Star being a x3 increase makes more sense. They both were able to overpower Gohan and Krillin but they could not beat an enraged Gohan (who was able to push 3rd form Frieza back for a few seconds). Garlic Jr should be around 1st form Frieza level (he could not completely dodge Gohan's attack which gave him a cut in his face) which would put him at 1,590,000 at full power. Now Piccolo was seen training and was shown to be slightly above Garlic Jr so he should be around 1,700,000.

0:54 that's not how I feel I always loved garlic jr. I love how he got things done do you love you wanted immortality boom he wanted to take over the lookout boom. And he wanted to make a demon army 🪖 on top of that his minions did almost flawlessly with the z fighters failed to do continuously they got to jumping. And yes Gohan is a continuous threat to Junior but I believe if he's anyone's Nemesis he is definitely piccolo's
