Gyomei Himejima is the biggest demon slayer in the series and you can beat this also means he’s the strongest. Gyomei’s Stone Breathing dates all the way back to the earliest days of the Demon Slayer Core with Kokushibo telling the Hashira that way back when he met a previous user, who interestingly enough is using a chain and sickle which is a smaller version of Gyomei’s Nichirin Axe and Flail combo. With the giant flail end he literally takes CHUNKS out of demons like he’s hitting them with a large boulder, and of course the axe is for those final blows, when he’s using attacks like first form Serpentinite Bipolar which is an attack that uses both ends of his chained nichirin to trap opponents, or his second form Upper Smash where he STEPS on the chain to make the ball hit you at crazy angles. During his battle with Upper Moon 1 and Muzan we SEE why Gyomei is simply the strongest Hashira, but he’s also a gentle giant who’d do anything for others.

Theres so many interesting tidbits about previous fighters. Like the two other slayers gyokko had to use his full form on. Gyokko states this is the third time he had to show his full form to someone, making mui the third ever human to witness it.. they mustve been much stronger than base muichiro as muichiro got no diffed by base gyokko. Especially considering these two were probably markless judging by Gyokko's age. The slayer from 300 years ago who was on par with base Gyomei which is insane. To put that on perspective, marked mui just got clapped by koku, and koku states afterwards that gyomei is the strongest swordsman he fought since 300 yrs, and that was his base form That means base gyomei > marked mui > true form gyokko(in a low diff manner, too) There was just straight up a swordsman around uppermoon level, and he wasnt even from the sengoku era or current gen.

Gyomei’s character design is actually probably the coolest out of the hashira’s. It’s nothing too crazy and I think that’s what’s good about it. He’s a blind religious man who has no real reason to want to become a demon slayer except to save others merely out of good spirit. While I guess you could argue he has a sad back story it’s really not as sad as most of the others

Then I would assume much like a lot of the current Hashira’s he just convinced him to join the demon slayers.

Maybe because hinokami kagura is the adaptation of the breath of the sun which is the first breathing form and every other breathing form is derived from the sun breathing so sun breathing can be used with every other breathing style but nobody knows it except tanjiro so only he uses it.

any demon slayer can learn any kind of breathing they want but to master a breathing it takes the person nature itself. tanjiro still did not master any sort of breathing style yet and he never will be able to master water breathing because that is not his nature. but since he has the memory of hinokami kagura, he can learn it very fast without practicing and be able to use the breathing with ease. conclusion: any breathing style can be learn but to master it takes skill and talent

I don't think Sun Breathing and Hinokami Kagura are the same thing, Sun Breathing is a breathing style while Hinokami Kagura is a fighting style, and you need to remember, none of the flame/water/thunder etc effects are real, they are just visual effects, they do not exist, so flame breathing don't produce fire

Bro if you read manga then you realise kokushibo dominates the whole fight like hell there is no opening for gyomei to give a single damage to kokushibo just because of genya's blood demon art that holds kokushibo in one place without that gyomei probably dead in the next move

@@saitama5358 Bro it is evident from the fight but he did better than everyone else especially countering most of his vital attacks. Actually Gyomei is the only Hashira who can survive against Kokushibo for the longest and put up a good fight until and unless Kokushibo goes bonkers on him. If he is in a 1 vs 1! situation against Kokushibo he will surely die like the rest of them but he wouldn't go down without a good fight. I am not saying Sanemi didn't put up a good fight but in the 1 vs 1 situation Kokushibo is too much for other Hashira to handle even for a small amount of time whereas Gyomei is built different. He can block most of Kokushibo's attacks in his base form and when Kokushibo gets serious Gyomei with a mark and see through world can put up a decent fight for a bit too. I think Gyomei fans just go overboard when they say he defeated Kokushibo all by himself 😂 because it was literally shown in the Manga that it took the combined efforts of all four of them to pin him down and that too because he gave up at the last moment. Their strength and technique is not even comparable since Kokushibo is a demon and has been in this position for 500 years. He is too damn strong for Gyomei to handle alone. Everyone is giving him extra credit for not getting severely injured against Kokushibo even though he put on efforts to save Sanemi in the fight. And for many that itself is a great feat. But actually Kokushibo aimed to kill all of them except Gyomei because he acknowledged him as the strongest warrior he has seen in 300 years therefore he knew he wouldn't go down unless and until he kill the other three.
