@@itstinahere But there is a new twist to this scam. Corrupt college coaches, athletic directors, & administrators were getting paid under the table to accept non-athletic students with fake profiles & credentials. Lori Loughlin's kids have to be total morons to have posed as fake athletes to get into USC. Colleges have always accepted less qualified students that are famous or who are the siblings of celebrities as well as legacies. The FBI is only involved in this new scam, because money was exchanged under the tables and wasn't taxed. That's criminal activity.

katpizo I completely agree with you. I tried incredibly hard to get into California State schools and it was very hard and way too cut throat. I didn’t even attempt to try applying to Stanford or UC Berkeley. College is a privilege and many do not realize how hard you have to work. Factor in that I have learning difficulties and still worked my tale off. I’ve been in college for 8 years and I’m graduating in May. These parents and their children are really disappointing individuals. It’s a shame because these kids took the spots of other children that really deserved a spot at these fine institutions. 🤦🏻‍♂️😑☹️😏😒

I’ve seen this comment in other videos. I disagree, I think everything happens for a reason, if anyone lost their spot because of these kids well then all that mean is that they went to a different college and probably that’s what was best for them, because again, everything happens for a reason.

Except, all you are hearing about are the TWO celebrities and not the others. Remember, there are DOZENS of parents involved, yet, the ONLY parents we see plastered on the news are the TWO celebrities. Who are the other parents? We know already that CEO's of companies are involved. Who are these CEO's? Which companies do they run? Why are these individuals NOT plastered on the news 24/7? The answer is simple: attacking celebrities is cool. Attack CEO's and corporations? Can't have that!

This is not an excuse by anymeans and they will probably plead guilty (and only get a slap on the wrist) but the competition to get into a school like Harvard is huge. Even with tutors and the best private schools, the kids probably werent hitting 1450 or higher on SATs, so even with a 4.0 gpa it isnt enough (even with smart kids). A friend of mine had a kid who was class valedictorian (4.0), scored extremely well on his SAT, outstanding in the community - and couldn't get into most of his top choices. He did end up at Boston College. (Btw, the pressure in Korea to do well on the main test is about 100 times worse)

@Glenda Stevens It feels like it is an artificial construct to maintain a "status". Most people that have Harvard or Yale next to their name get associated with lots of money.....most jobs probably are just as bias when they see that as well I assume. All these privileged kids really need to learn how to stand on their own. If rich parents keep paying off people so their kids are unfairly advantaged, the kids could go on to careers they aren't smart enough for. One day it's cheating on entrance exams, the next it's paying a doctor to tell the army your kid has bone spurs so their pampered ass doesn't have to go to Vietnam. Very slippery slope.

That's the only actual criminal law broken by the parents, at least the only they mentioned up to this point , a private institution can admit anyone they want for whatever reason they want (including payment), the parents might be prosecuted for fraud if the institution feels like it, but for the government the only thing I can see as an actual reason to arrest is tax money fraud, everything else is pretty much only civil, they could be sued for sure for other reasons presented, but to actually arrest them the only thing that make sense is tax money.

DJBigG alpha This is how we end up in our current political situation with a President that is uneducated and incompetent, but has literally created an image that half the country thinks is real... “Wharton.” Uh, huh. And can’t let his grades be released because the truth would come out. The sad thing is that at 51, I have had my entire belief in our system crushed, because it is now so clear that EVERYTHING is corrupted by and for the wealthy. I’m glad this is exposed, but I have little hope that justice will prevail. I am disgusted daily by what our country has become.

Looks like it is time to implement student loan forgiveness for everyone. Someone explain to me why I should have to pay back my federal student loans when the only people who get good jobs are cheaters, people who have influential parents, people who slept with the right person, people who know someone that gets them through the door, or if someone is attractive enough that someone wants to sleep with them so they get hired? Why should regular people have to pay back student loans when college degrees are actually USELESS and even when you get a proper job the degree does nothing for you? I have actually had people not hire me because I was “overqualified” (they didn’t want me to get promoted and take their job), I have literally had human resource staff make fun of me at interviews and say, “anymore schooling?” in a snarky sarcastic way, and I even had supervisors jokingly say that I was after their job. One time I got a job that required a degree and they needed copies of the degree/transcript for their records, when I handed them my bachelors and doctorate they said, “we only need to make copies of the bachelors” so it wasn’t even on record that I had a graduate degree (so they didn’t have to pay me more). If you don’t know the right people, sleep with the right people (or someone wants to sleep with you), or cheat then you are NOT getting a proper job based off of your education - the only exception is if you are a “token” (the proper minority, sex, gender, or some other niche that needs to be filled). I feel like a slave because the degrees I have verses what has been handed to others with the same (or less) credentials is astonishing. Federal student loans need to be forgiven across the board (that doesn’t mean college should become free just that they should stop giving them out now and drastically reduce the number of colleges and degrees given out) because it is essentially slavery. The ONLY people who succeed with college degrees are the well connected, the attractive enough, and cheaters. Period.

As if me aging out of the foster care system and graduating law school all on my own is not me “doing something with my life”. It’s sort of hard to “do something with my life” when the privileged, attractive, and cheaters get everything handed to them and I get to slave away and be a debt slave. If you actually read my post you would know that because I wasn’t in the “in” crowd I have been shafted more than once in the professional world. @@NikhilVootkur Privilege is based on class and social dynamics in your day to day environment, not ever a color. Skin itself means nothing but the assumptions established by those around you, and if you are having issues with making it to where you want to be because someone is talking about your "skin privilege" or others ,it's time to pack your bags and move on dude. You are in a toxic environment. It's such a broad discussion, but so very easy to understand and agree upon. The USA is a melting pot, the only privilege here is the amount of control, influence, and money you have in your pocket. Period.

Sad part is with all their money you would think they would've paid to make sure their kids were getting a good enough education so that they would be functioning academically at grade level and above so that they would be able to pass a College Admissions Test without having to pay people off. Many parents don't have the money to pay for quality education for their children and/or tutoring to enhance their skills, here they had the money but used it for bribes. Damn shame for all the hardworking students really studying and giving it their best shot and failing by a few points, even students with disabilities. Shame on them all, screwing the kids over. Disgraceful!

As someone who was in the top 10 of their class in high school with an ACT score in the 95th percentile all while being a two sport athlete and involved in numerous clubs and organizations; not getting into any of the schools I wanted to go to hurt then... and it hurts even more now. I hope that the people involved in this scandal get the punishment that they deserve and that from this we are able to fix an obviously broken system. For kids like me, just continue to work your hardest and make the best of the situation you're in because what you put into it is what you'll get out of it no matter what school you're at.

Please, if you couldn't get into USC, UCLA, Georgetown, & Wake Forest based on your own merit, you can't be that bright anyway. lol Only admission to Harvard, Stanford, & Yale are worthy of cheating for, otherwise it's embarrassing. UCLA gets the most applications annually only because idiots want to go to college in LA. I don't know why other than that. UCLA is considered the most dangerous campus in the country by the FBI with the most reported cases of violent crimes, and USC is located in the hood (Watts).

@@carolinehersman Please, if you want to study film, then USC and NYU would be the better choices. However, for the most part, Columbia would be the better school with the superior academic reputation & international academic ranking. USC isn't a prestigious school on an international scale. Actually UCLA is more reputable internationally. However, I was referring to Harvard, Yale, & Stanford, not Columbia. Columbia isn't on the same level with those 3 schools according to my standards.

Meanwhile the average high school kid (with parents of average middle-class wealth) go to school full time, work their butts off to get good grades all while trying to hold a part-time job on the side and balance extracurricular activities (sports, music, hobbies, boy/girl scouts, church, volunteer service, etc, etc) - work a part-time job - and no matter what they do, no matter how much blood, sweat, and tears are shed will be lucky just to get into a semiocre state college. Yet some bratty rich kid who did jack crap with his early life except party , take extravagant vacations, and complain how boring their life is will get to go to an elite university - all because mommy and daddy are wealthy and gives them anything they want. Yeah. Rich people suck.
