My friend watched The Apprentice and thought Trump was some sort of genius, but when I watched him I just saw a game show host that got his amusement from the humiliation of others. I often wondered how far the contestants often sold themselves in order to advance in the show.

There are a couple of docos on netflix right now that feature this narrative prominently. Interviews with the showunnners who confirm that the whole Apprentice franchise was conceived as tongue-and-cheek from the onset and that everyone was 'in' on it; except for Spanky. Also, that the interior of Spanky Towers Office was like walking into a tomb that hadn't been unsealed since the 80s. Chipped furniture, thread-bare carpet and "smelling faintly of onions."

I remember watching the first part of the pilot episode where DJT gave a tour of his gold-encrusted apartment. I changed the channel and never watched it again.

Isn’t it interesting that the producers of the apprentice waiting to say this now. Would have been better to tell Trump’s base during the campaign. His base needs all the help they can get. Let’s face it, They are as smart as their leader

Wouldn't it be great if the Trump presidency put an end to politicians' claims that their business experience qualifies them to lead a government? Won't happen, of course--but Donald demonstrates that those are two completely separate realms.

I've always said many people watched this Apprentice trash and believed it and thats why they voted for him. The show should be sued for false advertising lol
