People forget the first thing Kyrie Irving did when James Harden got to Brooklyn was hand Harden the ball and say, "You the point guard." In the case of Kyrie, I would add the Celtics because of how obvious it was even while he was on the team that they were just better without him. And thank you for telling the truth about KD, I never understood why he was considered better than Kawhi when Kawhi is as elite a scorer as he is and never turns the ball over
@TuNnL

Kyrie's real problem is he's a SG who spent most of his life playing PG. Heck, at one point, LeBron James pulled Kyrie on the side and told him, "You will NEVER have a zero assist game again, on my team." How does a PG playing heavy minutes even have zero assists in a basketball game? On the small kid playground, you call that dude a "ball hog." Irving finally learned that lesson by the time James Harden came to Brooklyn. What Uncle Drew didn't understand was that Harden wasn't "all in" on the KD-Kyrie banana boat. 🍌⛵ James sort of just ended up in Brooklyn when 76ers GM Daryl Morey (temporarily) got outbid by Nets GM Shaun Marks in the Houston Rockets trade sweepstakes. So, Harden figured, "what the hell, let's play along, and see where this goes." People what to make more out Brooklyn's 'Big Three' than it really was. It was a 16-game sample size, and they didn't even win all 16 of them. How are you going to call that more successful than the 16 straight games Kyrie won in Boston after Gordon Hayward fractured his ankle? Clearly, Irving is a lone wolf, and anything BUT a captain who makes his teammates better. But his ball-handling is something to watch, when he's healthy, 'aint it? 💁🏻‍♂️🏀😉

@@YER3721 If Brooklyn really intends to trade Kyrie Irving, the Los Angeles Lakers offer is the best they will get. Uncle Drew is on a one-year rental, so if he already declared his preference is L.A., why would any other NBA team take a chance on him? The Nets are going to have their hands full trying to make Kevin Durant, Kyrie and Ben Simmons work as a unit. I could see any of those three players sitting out games for any given reason at any point of the season. 💁🏻‍♂️🏀

Irving and Durant are All time scorers. But besides that scoring their either average or below average at every other aspect of basketball. For example, they are very tunnel visioned and pretty much always think score first all the time. So there are multiple possessions where they decide that they are going to shoot no matter if they get double teamed or draw multiple defenders to them. So having Irving and Durant as your star duo is flawed as they are extremely redundant in what they give to a roster : All Time Scoring Ability.
@enthusiastofcute
@enthusiastofcute 2 жыл бұрын
Also, extra flawed in the fact that Durant and Irving are ISO style players who barely move off ball and usually park themselves in a spot during a possession if they don’t have the ball. (Big reason why a guy like Steph can fit with other great players very well because he can still be extremely effective and influential without the ball, so Steph pairs nicely with a ball dominant teammate like KD)

@@reeseangle9621 “the same squad”, oh yeah bro totally the same squad. Never mind that that Nets team had James Harden and the Celtics didn’t have Brown. Also never mind how the Celtics this year are much different in terms of chemistry and overall execution. Also Durant is not a good passer, he’s at best slightly above average. Thanks for another banger, Yung Mustard. I really wanted Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving to prove their haters wrong, but in the end, they proved them right. You can't help but admire both of these player's individual games, but in the end, we all should have seen the writing on the wall when the Brooklyn Nets desperately outbid the Philadelphia 76ers for James Harden. People forget that Kyrie let it leak out that he told the front office before the trade that he didn't think the Nets needed Harden. And if that wasn't enough, the very first day James got to Brooklyn, Irving handed Harden the ball and said, "you be the point guard." That should tell you all you need to know about Uncle Drew's desire to be a playmaker. So who was supposed to do it once Daryl Morey finally got the man he was trying to trade Ben Simmons for over a year for? You can't ask KD to do it, as that's just not what players in the front court are generally good at. They call the position POINT guard, because you play the point, the captain, the general, and for all intents and purposes, the master playmaker of the team. Is that Kyrie's talent? I'm an Irving fan, have followed him since Cleveland, and SUPPORTED him on his vaccine stance. I can tell you for a fact, that is NOT his talent. Sure, he doubled back and TRAINED himself to be a better passer after LeBron announced on social media that he told Uncle Drew he was not allowed to have a "zero assist" game stat line, EVER again. But Kyrie's true talent is ball-handling and scoring. Period. 💁🏻‍♂️🏀

I think this is what sets the great players apart from the champions. The champions adapt and evolve their game to what the team needs to win. But with guys like KD, Kyrie and even Harden and Westbrook they will keep on doing what they're doing and the whole team/coaching has to adjust around them. It's almost never gonna be them adjusting to make the team as a whole better. Ironically KD had the most success when he fit into the Golden State system. Heck I even remember watching in Michael Jordan's documentary how he had to become a better playmaker and rely more on his teammates in order to get over the Pistons. So if the GOAT (in my opinion) can do it, what's stopping these guys. Aren't they seeing that the way they're going about things isn't working.

i guess being able to dribble fancy is a skill, but curry can do that too, is a better passer, and has that insanely fast stroke. that fast stroke is the most unique skill either of these two guards have, so kyries not even the most skilled guard of his own generation

Steph's a way better defender too. Plus his offball decision making is near perfect, always drawing the right amount of attention and being in the right spot. I remember watching somewhere that Kyrie goes the long way around to slash to the basket with his handle while Steph usually follows a straight line, being more efficient.

My problem with Kyrie is that he left the Cavs to be the guy but I never get the impression that he REALLY wants a ring. What he really wants is to be the star, to be Kobe. Celtics played beautifully tho.

Not only did I feel like KD and Kyrie weren’t the most skilled duo I don’t even feel like their each other’s most skilled teammate. KD has at least 3 arguably 5 teammates better than Kyrie and Kyrie had LeBron.

This series exposed the insane expectations being placed on Tatum. The man has thoroughly outplayed KD in damn near every match up in the last 2 seasons and now he gotta beat Giannis to be considered a Superstar. He gotta beat the REIGNING FUCKING CHAMPS to be considered what Luka was gifted for getting bounced in the 1st round. Its ridiculous.

Well to be fair alot of the people crowning Luka are white dudes. Nothing racist here but just like with Jokic they’re extremely supportive when a great white player comes along

I like KD. Problem is he wants to be above LeBron but he's not a great leader. He's too nice. He's also terrible at picking teammates. Westbrick, Irving, Harden, Simmons, etc. Only missing coach Glenn Rivers to have a full deck of NBA drama queens.

Kemba Walker with a Quran😭😭😭bro that was funny as hell… also side note: ik you said it’s fine if pple think KD is a better individual player than Lebron and Giannis, no it’s not bruh it’s very clear he’s not as good as those boys let’s keep it a stack lmao….16:00 you can add Giannis to that list too

13:52 Oh yeah I think I finally figure out how teams can stop KD. Just affect his decision making. Kevin one weakness is his passing skills he isn’t a terrible passer but he isn’t o on the level of Steph or Bron if you throw different guys and defensive set at him he is gonna turnover the ball. Only thing I disagree with this video though was comparing Kyrie to Kemba Kyrie can get a team to the playoffs at least. If you want to say Kyrie riding off that one chip from 2016 fine but he definitely is better than Kemba
