builder base: what is my purpose players: to complete clan games fast builder base: oh. my. god

The problem is obvious: Builder base is too grindy, doesn't offer a lot of strategy, and is extremely slow progression wise. But supercell for some reason doesn't want to change this.

I actually really like Builder Base. I think all it needs is the earned loot to be doubled. Both from the star bonus, and the attack/defend loot. Right now, it takes forever to get enough loot to do just one upgrade.

i love builder base, but limited daily rewards and very low loot amounts are SO annoying when ur like 1 mil recourses off and it takes an hour of attacks or 3 builder star potions.

I really like playing the Builder Base. Unlike the Home Village, you can always play it instead of needing to wait for your army to train. I think that the overall experience is very difficult from the Home Village. Instead of choosing an attack strategy beforehand and picking out a village, you choose a strategy for the base you get assigned to. With fewer buildings, fewer troops, and no spells, it's more important to think about how to use each individual troop. This is further enhanced by the special abilities each troop has. Even besides that, there's also the second stage, which, of course, adds a lot more strategy to both attacking and base building.

Same problem in builder base 2.0, such a grind to get loot. Though there is no cap, to earn gold we have to score star and the loot increases exponentially with the star. The elixir seems to pile up faster than gold while there is still half of base lwft to upgrade and no use of elixir, as of builder base 5. It feels so grindy to upgrade wall and go max. They need to make the walls be upgradeable by elixir like in home village and everything will be good.

I believe the BB 2.0 is a test for future home village updates. Home village is soon going to need to expand in other ways than just town halls because supercell is nearing the max town hall or else the game becomes too complex. It's not fair to say the BB doesn't fit in when there's people who like it and it doesn't hurt the game in any way, it's simply just an addition. But that's my opinion.

I remember Darien talking with Judo Sloth not long ago. He said that the team is thinking about making a three-stage or maybe even four-stage attack on the Builder Base. I would like to see that. Maybe, you could unlock the third stage at Builder Hall 11. Then, at BH 12, there can be a new building that gives you tasks to complete similar to the B.O.B. Control. Once they're completed, you unlock a new benefit that helps with the Home Village. An idea I have is a building that gives you a choice of a few things with a cooldown of 46 hours. Here are the choices I came up with: 1. Boost all builders in both bases by 2x for 1 hour 2. Triple the research speed in both bases for 1 hour. 3. Boost resource gathering in both villages by 2x for two hours 4. Get 15 gems 5. Get 500 Capital Gold

I think having a builder base event would be cool. Maybe a 5 day event for builder base clan war

I think the builder base gameplay is actually really fun, I just unlocked the canon cart yesterday and I think it is by far the most interesting troop in the game, and the second tier is a pretty fun way to spice up raids, the main problem is that it is mind numbingly grindy. The upgrades take even longer and they're even more expensive, but you only have a single builder and I earn literally ten times less loot then I do on a good home village raid, there has never been a single time where I've seriously needed the star bonus at the home village, but it feels like that's my only source of loot in the builder base. Upgrading the builder base simply isn't fun, any excitement you get from the new features is completely drowned out by the unbelievable amount of time it takes to get them

loot is still very much an issue in the builder base. while adding loot depending on how many stars you get from attacking, and how many stars the opponents get from attacking you is a nice addition, it really isn't enough, and it's because after a certain BH level, a large majority of buildings cost a full worth of your storages, which is in the millions, compared to the tens of thousands of loot you can get normally from attacks, and hundreds of thousands of loot from daily star bonuses

One thing that heavily improved with builderbase 2.0 is the meta game around higher townhalls. Before 2.0 I managed to push up 5000 trophys and almost max out TH 9. At that level the main goal was trying to reach the TH so you can get a 2 star with hopefully more % than your opponent since getting a 3 star was almost impossible due to the clumped up bases. Only mass hoggliders were able to get a 3star which removed the strategical aspect of the troop choice. With 2.0 it is much more doable to get a 6 star with a variety of troops and it is much more fun to strategise again, thanks to the smaller villages.

Now it's really hard for me to hit 3k trophies with BH 7 max and matchmaking is unfair getting higher BH 9/10 every single match

I really hate the part that when they decided to split the walls. They didn't changed the cost. As in 1 single piece of wall requires same amount of resources as 5 pieces. And also the time required to upgrade after certain point(7d+) is ridiculous considering that this mini game was supposed to be fun

I hate the matchmaking in the builder base, unlike in the main base you can't choose who you attack so you're usually forced to attack a builder base 1 or 2 levels above you which feels unfair. Also you rely a lot more on each individual troop which means that if the AI of the troop misbehaves it completely screws your attack over

Only use it occasionally to make progress towards the 6th builder

If they did cut off some update and price times, and of course add some more conection to the home village (other than, 6th builder and gear ups) will be a good start.

Builder Base is missing something important in its gamemode, clan-to-clan battles. If Builder Base has one which has a completely different experience from any clan-related battles (Clan Wars, CWL, Raid Weekend) and does reward stuff which can help not only Home Village but also Builder Base itself as well, Builder Base will finally feel belong to the game.

the original builder base was the only reason i played COC back then i could sit for hours just attacking bases, i like smaller attacks more than gigantic attacks with hundreds of troops the only thing i wanted was something akin to a spell but on a much smaller scale,outside of that old BB was perfect for me

Collectors are underrated, if you don't like the builder base you don't need to attack, plenty possible to max slowly with just collectors, I hit max bh9 and I'm fairly deep into bh10 for only using collectors (lvl10 collectors get you 300k a day)

i used to really like the builder base, fun farming, unique troops, challenging strategies. but now i'm at BH6 where i spam witches at lower trophy levels so my defense can actually make elixir. it's too hard to get enough resources for anything. I recently just decided to rush untill BH9 to get the 6th builder, it'll be hard and a long grind but it'll be easier than actually playing the builder base

thank god for the update i started playing coc last year in jan and i was grinding out for the sixth builder and thank god i got it just 2 days ago after one year, the builder base 2.0 made things alor easier

I really liked both iterations of the builder's base. It's been almost a year since the 2.0 update, and I'm almost done finishing all the walls to max it out. I hope they add new bases or something to keep me playing because I stopped playing the original mode for a while after maxing it out. I only played it for the loot whenever I had free builders for the clan capital currency or to finish quickly clan games

i think they should transfer the gem mine and the clock tower to the main base and remove the builder base, and compensate us with a bunch of gems for it.

I remember the 6th builder grind really wasn’t that bad, took a few months, and I didn’t stop playing cus I had a max cannon cart from the grind, a troop I really liked anyway, so I kept playing the builder base after, and now I still play the builder base after the update. It’s pretty good. I’ll play if my main troops are training. Nothing wrong with more clash to play

i grinded my ass off getting that 6th builder, devoted so much time to it and spent more time on my builder base than main base at some points

I really like the builder base, I just think there should be more variation in the offensive units. As it sits right now, there are really only 3 types of troops. You have primary damage dealers like pekkas and dragons, which are meant to take out large sections of the base. You also have sniping troops like archers and minions, which are meant to take out individual targets in the base. Finally, you have support troops like giants or wall breakers to help you brute force into a base. If you simply understand what units beat what defenses, and you have enough units to fill the roles, you'll have no issues beating any base. Every strategy now boils down to using a sniping troop (typically cannon carts) to destroy a lot of the base, and then using a damage dealer to clean up the rest. Maybe you throw in a support troop to take out something deeper in the base before or while you push into it. There just isn't a lot of creativity in how you approach attacks now. They need to rework a few troops to help diversify the roster. Archers and minions, for example, feel way too similar. I don't like that they fill the exact same role slightly differently. I also don't like that both tend to be outclassed by cannon carts due to the importance of keeping your troops alive, or that they lose their abilities and the cannon carts don't after using them.

I always liked builder base, but with the 2.0 rework I like it more, although there are some refinement needed to do. First, at least in the lower leagues I would like an increase of Gold and elixir obtainable (not the bonus, just the attacks itself, getting raised by 20 to 30%) and also a bigger diversity to legitimate options to use in the attacks, alongside mass pekka, cannon cart, baby dragon and potentially Night witch. It would be cool to see a boxer giant buff of 10% health and/or 1 more second of the ability

I'm looking at builder base a different way. I don't mind playing it too much, but if people get to BH10, then thats max gem mine, bob hut, and you can use what resources you passively generate to make capital gold if you have a spare builder. Edit: I guess you can do it from BH9 too but BH10 is more efficient, particularly for the capitol gold. That will add up.

No, in early days troops used to take time to train in the builder base. It was extremely frustrating, and most of the people left it because of that.

For me the ability to farm however I like, eg by dropping trophies farming with super goblins is very exciting. I can farm my walls faster, while I get attacked less. There’s no flexibility in the BB, they need to change it from a loot system to an upgrade system maybe more people will play then.

I HATE... H - A - T - E builder base. The reason why is because I feel forced to do a painfully long and tedious grind for the 6th builder. It took me half a year, and I hated every second of it. Only 2 builders for +5d upgrades. The upgrades are expensive and you get little resources so you have to grind. The 6th builder is locked at a very high town hall making the entire process not just boring, but frustrating as well. Builder base is a good idea on paper, but they ruined it by making the gameplay artificially slow and tiring to get the rewards you want. Thinking I have to do the same again in my alt makes me sick, but the 6th builder worth it.

the main problem w/ the builder base is that it is very expensive to upgrade things for example in the normal village the upgrade of the storages cost a reasonable amount of loot but in the builder base upgrade from level 2 to 3 costs 200,000 elixir/gold

I personally like Builder Base 2.0, it brings a different and more active kind of attack style to the normal player base and provides a low-stakes experience where I don't really need to constantly play to keep my rank. 2.0 was a massive improvement, but the low loot output is frustrating sometimes

I would say is to fix the trophy system and loot system and that may fix it. Like there is no deals nor packs to progress with no other signs to do after you finish the main parts

My builder base heros are a combined level of 43. 2 more levels and I'll never have to play it again, except for clan games.

Baby dragon and PEKKA are really good, but I wouldn't call other troops useless. Cannon cart is tricky to use, but very useful once you know how to use it. Giant become really better after the spacial ability. Night witch is my personal favourite and very fun to use.And bommer is a very important against base with high level walls. Baby dragon and PEKKA is really good for rushers and maxers, but depends on the base design they sometimes don't perform very well.

i like builder base so much that one night before the exams i did almost like 19-20 attacks its so fun

I personally like builder base more than the home village because you cannot attack back to back in the home village. You need to wait for the troops, spells, heroes and clan castle troops but attacking back to back in the builder base is very much possible and fun to grind

i like builder base, simply bcs i love CoC and i very like every aspect of this game, so every day i will at least complete my star bonus in BB

The new builder battle system is mostly the same as versus battles. The only difference is you can start a new one without waiting for the last one to finish.

Personally i always hated how builder base had major balancing issues which is probably another reason why people dont place Builder base other than 6th, gems, and clan games. Mega tesla, crusher destroying my tanks. Giant cannon and lava launcher destroying my range and guard post troops distracting my battle machine and luring it across the base into a crusher

It's already so hard to grind for loot in the home base. I don't really have time for builder base

I think they should add some new features that help to gain benefits in our main village. I am very old player have 6 builders when the task was hard AF. At that time playing builder base was fun but its been years since i played it, i just go and collect my 5 gems each day that's it .

Its just the resource part for me, you dont get a lot of gold by attacking and things are expensive to upgrade or build so that needs to change

The way i see it is, if i have nothing else to do on main village i jump over to builder base. However you have to take it with a pinch of salt like anything else. There arent a great deal of helpful rewards from builder base like books potions etc so most people just get the extra builder and free gems. I agree the battle system is quite dull because of how small the maps and armies are. I think they need to add extra levels for builder base and add spells and maybe change the reinforcement system or tweak it. I play builder base and have my own complaints but honestly i think the lack of content and decent rewards is where the main problems are. People would definitely play it more if there was rewards they needed tied to it.

They need to add a system that allows you to exchange builder gold and elixir to the home base somehow. Almost like bringing gear over from one island to another

I just go into builder base attacks. Spam my pekka army and close the game and reopen it. There I have it, instantly 3 stars in 10-15 seconds. I do that 4 times at most and easily get to the 10 star requirement for loot bonus in just 40-60 secs of my time. This works really great for completing clan games as well. I usually do it in around 20-30 minutes.

I love playing builder base at least before builder base updated The dual base is fine for me but how they revamped the troops especially how they changed my beloved cannon cart skill make me stop playing the builder base

The issue with builders base is that the payouts barely become better as you level up. roughly 20k - 30k for 3 stars is pathetic on higher level bases. Even the 200k bonus is nothing. My average upgrades are beyond 1 million. I gotta do like 50+ 3 star attacks just to afford anything. It’s so repetitive and boring. Another issue that greatly contributes is the trophies. I find myself constantly reaching the max on my trophies then stuck with getting 1 to 2 stars” attacks so around 8k -15k payouts (may as well pay me nothing tbh) so then I gotta purposely fail attacks to lower my trophies. Just so I can the smash threw levels faster and get better pay. Builders hall is just a mess. It’s fun on lower levels but higher you go more boring and repetitive it becomes.

It's fun if u have all troop with at least lv 18 . U can try different strategies.But I know the grinding journey to unlock all troop and upgrading is just pain.

Because it takes like 20 battles to get enough loot for 1 upgrade, I make my goal pushing trophies which becomes IMPOSSIBLE when you are against a trophy dropping max th but YOU get 6 starred EVERY SINGLE TIME and Ben though I nearly 6 star every time, once you get high enough it is literally impossible to gain more than you lose

I do enjoy the Builder base but it needs to have more loot and decreased upgrade time. Upgrading walls is geniunely a nightmare now that I am maxed.

I'm builder TH9 and I find builder matches faster than multiplayer matches on the regular island.

The old builder base is way better imo, I used play it when I was done with the home village (when the troops were training) or to compelte seasonal challenges. The versus battle gave it a different taste. But nowadays, it feels like a worse version of the home village. They just made it worse instead of improving.

I maxed out builder base 9 before 2023 and then the 2.0 update came out and changed the layout of my base to a random one and deleted my old design, i was too lazy to make a new base since it was two bases now and haven’t touched it since… besides the gem mine

Builder base 1.0 was th10 in 2014 where it’s impossible to 3 star on top of not being able to attack because someone is placing 1 sneaky archer at a time and builder base 2.0 is just not fun to attack with the 6 star system and 2 bases

Supercell should simply increase loot by 2 or 2.5 times.

There are multiple problems with the builder base: Shitty loot, slow progression, getting punished for not rushing, keep facing higher/rushed BH's and getting destroyed by them because they have stronger armies, overall shitty attacking, just too many flaws. The only good factor that you could say are clan game challenges and even those i barely do due to my overall disslike towards BH.

in early days of builder base troops had training times and you could not witch them

I went on a trophy losing streak just because I’d have to 6 star bases that sometimes were a lot stronger than mine (I am bh7) only to keep my trophies thus not winning any since everybody else did 6 star my base even tho I had a decent base. At this point I’ll just rush to th9 to get the 6th builder

There isn't much strategy when battle machine gets chain lightning skill and witches, same attack armies to grind and its a hassle im on bh 8 and the struggle is real im almost 3 months in from maxing.

Not everyone hates builder base I myself love builderbase and love how much hardwork it takes to reach the end.

In my personal opinion I honestly think one of the best ways to improve it would be remove the attacking system they have and make it like the home village bc then this way players could go find bases they would feel better attacking and not always whoever happens to match or however that works I’m a bc 10 but I’m not fully maxed and I’ve actually lost over a 150 trophies or more since bc there harder to get which I don’t find fair in some cases we need a bit less expensive upgrades and just a bit more loot to make it worth while and another issue I have is with the match making there is high level bh that have everything but it’s low level well if you’re a bc 4 and get stuck against a low bc 8 or 9 or even 7 there’s not much you can do it’s an automatic los which I find unfair especially to players that don’t pay to play in my opinion what should be done to fix this I’d have it coded in the game no matter your trophie count you can only attack the same level you are or 1 above for example if your bc 3 you can attack 3 and 4 that’s it if you’re 5 then only 5 and 6 and so on this way you don’t get stuck with losing to a higher bc your in the same league I find if it was done that way people might not rush so much but it gives free to play players a better chance instead and by having the attack system from the home village that would allow you to attack at your own pace but having the ability to pay a bit of gold or elxier to skip it and possibly have the option to do that maybe 10 times at most and instead the stars would account for a loot bonus like the home village just doing that alone I think would improve the builder base bc I slowed down playing it bc everything takes so long to upgrade it costs to much and its painful to try and get more trophies like I said I’ve lost over a 150 of them since bc it’s so much harder between 2 smaller bases to attack it’s like why do I bother trying and the other dumb thing I recently noticed is that you don’t always fight the person that’s attacking you which is beyond me so I have more reasonable opinions and options on how to Improve the bb to make it worth playing more but to be smooth like it’s not a chore Anyway that’s what I think let me know if anyone has an opinion based on mine I’m sure I’m not the only one

i think the loot needs a buff to the loot gained from matches most of the resources come from the star bonus becuase the match loot is so insignificant i dont wanna have to do 20 matches to get an upgrade started

The starbonus in the builder base should give ores for equipment too

The BB was so good and then so bad, it was small, fast and competitive, for a quick fun it was good, then it got big again and the matchmaking got thrown into oblivion and farming was exhausting

IVE been playing the builder base since 5th grade im in 12th now so 7 years and im barely maxing out the last walls I need

Unless your buying the gold pass it’s genuinely such a chore playing the builder base everything takes ages everything is expensive army’s are never big enough troops cost too much to upgrade

My bh base is almost maxed and I enjoyed it ever since I completed the original otto challenges. The downsides are trying to max is extremely slow and I always have full storages before my builders get done. On top of that I have my useless battle copter is always upgrading. But overall it's a good break from the original base. You only get to attack once or twice in the original base and then you have to wait an hour for your next army to train. Honestly, grinding the original game is a lot more boring than the builder hall.
