Why do you dress differently in the morning if you are staying home alone from how you’d dress if you’re going to be seeing many people? Are you more comfortable in ‘fashionable’ clothing than in utilitarian coverups? You might consider an adventure vacation, right? Swim with the sharks in South Africa? Sure. See penguins in Antarctica? Why not. How about a week at a nudist resort in Jamaica? That would be something different, so are you up for it? I suspect not. Why not? Do you have too much of that old-time puritanical repressiveness? C’mon, live for a week like a healthy naked animal. Why am I not persuading you? Why should we grant government the power to punish us for taking off our clothing in public? If you don’t like my naked appearance, don’t look; but don’t stop me from undressing how I choose. If Adam and Eve had nice green clothes made from fig leaves, why did God make them additional outfits out of leather? Would human beings come up with the idea of clothing with zero cultural input? What did famous feminist, Camille Paglia, mean when she said that if civilization were left in female hands, “we’d all be living in grass huts”. Comparing female models and movie stars of the 1950s to current times, do contemporary unisex and androgynous fashion styles have anything to do with our culture’s leftist tendency to eliminate distinctions between men and women. To participate in reviewing changes in American life the past twenty years and getting your name into a book visit www.RabbiDanielLapin.com/masterclass. Be a happy warrior, not a tennis ball floating down the gutter of life.

Just by the title I can already agree. I myself like to dress up in different manners and everytime I realize how people perceive me just based on the way I dress.... which leads to be treated differently everytime

I repent for dressing in a way that attracts attention in the wrong way, and blurring the line of difference between male and female dressing. Most would say I dress modest but if I wanted to follow the Biblical blueprint, and I do, I need to change. I just went through my cupboard to look at my options for more dresses and skirts. I have so few, and I don't look my age in them, nor would most of them be suited for daily life. Until I can phase out my existing wardrobe and buy suitable clothes, I will have to continue with what I have. But thank you for the wisdom, Rabbi. I appreciate it.

I attend vintage balls in Alameda which are set in the nineteenth, eighteenth and early to mid twentieth century. We dress in the formal wear of the particular era. How we dress does have an effect on our behavior. We observe the old manners and ediquette. People are well behaved there, more so I suspect than in other settings. Also, the women are much more attractive in their vintage dress than what you would see in some of the current fashions. Modern “art” and current clothing styles for women have something in common.

Most Christians believed that Jesus made a vow of poverty and that is why Christians think money is evil or not good. But in the New Testament it is written that after Jesus had been nailed to the cross the soldiers gambled for his rob because it was such fine cloth that it was a-shame if it had to be divided. Jesus’s rob was of the finest cloth available. And that basically answers the question if Jesus had made a vow of poverty. The answer is , no.

I am glad that I found the title of your presentation intriguing enough of stay with it to the end. I never imagined how vital the distinction between clothing for mankind is in the stability of the human race. Now it makes sense to me when the Holy Bible states that a woman should not wear men’s clothing. I must also say thank you for emphasizing how the precise translation of the Hebrew to English makes for a better understanding of the text. I am certainly looking forward to viewing more of your videos, and encouraging my friends to tune in also.

Designer is not a factor because when I was younger I always wear bespoke clothes. In the West, it is difficult to find dressmakers to make your clothing for reasonable prices. Bespoke fits better and is more comfortable. In Jamaica one cannot go into a restaurant or takeaway cafe with a vest top. Yesterday, I was told by my friend that she was not allowed to wear a sleeveless blouse to collect a barrel she sent to Jamaica. Not allowed! And you knows how it goes in JA; they don’t beat around the bush. They just tell you in no uncertain terms: you either like it or lump it.

@daniellapin9222
@daniellapin9222 4 жыл бұрын
Dear @@DanielGrosu86 So happy to have a growing London, UK audience! And you're part of it. Thanks for writing. To respond to your question, asking me if I am pro-fashion industry is a little like asking me if I am pro-steak knives. The answer to that question is yes very much so when I am confronting a perfectly grilled prime rib and very much anti when it is in the hands of a would-be assailant. I am very grateful to my tailor and to all clothing makers for allowing us to preserve our dignity. The way we are created is that we are innately uncomfortable in public when we're naked. This is one reason that tyranny of most kinds tries to strip dignity by stripping their enemies of clothing. This is done by most horrendous prison systems when they accept a new prisoner. Furthermore, I am grateful for choice in clothing so we are not all dressed the same as millions of Chinese citizens had to do under Mao Tzedung. I am grateful to the clothing industry in all its forms and aspects that makes all this possible. That said, there can be excesses in many things that are good in moderation like chocolate ice cream, male-female intimacy; in fact in all areas of human appetite and desire. Would I like to be living with a woman who is obsessed with fashion and feels naked if she is wearing last year's styles? Absolutely not. But neither would I enjoy living with a woman who is utterly oblivious to fashion. I have never attended a fashion show but if I were ever invited, I probably would accept. That is also true were I invited to a horse race and many other events. Whether I'd attend my second fashion show I don't yet know. I do know that I probably would politely decline a pie-eating contest among other events that portray human beings in derogatory ways. Perhaps a longer answer than you wanted but not a simple question. Thanks for listening. Cordially ~ RDL

Right! Tips for Tyrants #27: If you want to control a group of people erode normal male/female relationships and you'll increase their dependency on you. @@rabbidaniellapin. Years ago a local paper ran an expose on a local cult that promoted free love (lust) and sexual promiscuity, orgies actually. The cult did not allow what psychologists call pair bonding. The purpose of this was to lower humans to the status of animals and completely control them. Some cults will go the opposite extreme, prohibiting normal contact and interaction between men and women, keeping them apart. The aim is the same, control.

Thank you for your podcast. I am in PE South Africa. I totally agree with you. GOD made adam and eve , not adam and Steve. I believe that men do things better e.g. hairdressers, especially. However each have significant roles to perform which are meant to complement each other. I believe that adam and eve were covered in glory and fully spiritual beings able to stand in God's presence, and therefore did not need any clothes, but when they fell from Grace, that is when they realized that they were naked. After all did not God say that in the day that you eat of the r ree of the knowledge of good and evil, 'you shall surely die!'..? Well adam did not die physically. He lived on to have children. Something died. It was his spirit. So today, we are all born into this world with a dormant spirit, and we need to come alive to God again by having this dormant spirit resurrected to life once again. The very fact that we humans are the only species on this planet who has to take cloth to cover ourselves unlike the animals, proves that adam lost something viz that which covered him and that enabled him to stand before God and together walk in the garden in the cool of the day. Perhaps this is why nudist camps are started. But they will never succeed in achieving their objective which is bringing about that Eden experience. We must be BORN AGAIN. Two people of like gender cannot reproduce. That is a sure way to curtail the population explosion!

I was listening to the point where the rabbi called the flood mythology ... no further comment

Hey Martin, I was referring to other cultures who’d never heard of the flood or who thought it a mythology ( about 39 minutes in). I’ve never apologized for being a proud Bible believer. Please hear a few more of these shows on my channel and I think you’ll find value. Cordially ~ RDL

In the pride of progress, can bestiality be far behind?

When I go out to shops or restaurants it appears that a lot of people go out in public just wearing their stay at home lounging clothes which I find disgusting. People seem to have lost a lot of respect for themselves and for other people by not dressing properly for the occasion. I also find it very disrespectful to the public to see bare pregnant bellies and belly buttons hanging out for everyone to see. How can a person wear a designer dress and have their pregnant belly totally bare; it makes the dress look like a rag. I realize that they are proud of being pregnant but unfortunately the pregnant belly is ugly to the public.

Thanks for listening Sally, and for writing. There was a time, before my time I suppose when people dressed when they went out...even to go on an airplane flight. I love the PaAm promotional photographs from the early 1960s featuring the "new" 747 Jumbo jets and everyone is dressed so elegantly. Today, even in the first class cabin--they look like hobos. I have no objection to casual dress but in public, make it casual-smart please. As you say, just out of respect for other human beings. Cordially ~ RDL

Rabbi, Women's boobs aren't very modest especially the larger sizes. Could you please discuss in detail?

Boring.... Making a short story, long. Just get to the point. Anyone interested in your topic is intelligent enough to not need your Bland examples.
