The socks crawling away is an old joke that says they are so dirty and nasty, they can crawl by themselves. When I was a teen in cross country running, my socks would get pretty sweaty, smelly and dirty. My mother used to joke that she had a big stick by the washer shed use to beat my socks into the machine to keep them from crawling out. 😂

I can't believe that you're the only reactor who didn't laugh at the echo replying "You're an idiot!". It's such a great gag and the second time he says "You're an idiot!" is even funnier because it doesn't make sense, like his echo has his own personailty.

In your intro, when you first brought up the holidays being hard for some and letting those people know they’re not alone, I kinda expected it to be a segue into a BetterHelp ad or something and almost rolled my eyes, because that would have been less heartfelt. The sincere “Please take care of yourself” really turned that around. I’m less than 2 minutes in to my first time watching one of your videos and I can tell that you are a really caring person. I can’t wait to see your reaction to the message of this movie.

I’m a big advocate for mental health, I struggle myself and want to be part of trying to break down stigmas that exist around mental health. I’ve also felt extremely lonely in my struggles so if I can help others feel less alone I’m gonna try do that!

I love the way Jim Carrey sang the iconic song "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch" while adding his own comedic elements to it like the hilarious sound effects. And his freak out when the sleigh takes off. "We're going to die!! We're going to die!! I'm going to throw up, and then I'm going to die!! Mommy, tell it to stop!!" Also, I really love how the actress who played Cindy Lou, Taylor Momsen went on to be the front woman and lead singer of a band called The Pretty Reckless. Also, I can sympathize with the Grinch, having been a victim of bullying growing up. I know the feeling of not liking people because of it.

The dog who played Max is actually a female, but his voice is done by Frank Welker.

Fun movie fact: Being in that costume and all the makeup was considered torture for Jim Carrey that they had to get a CIA expert on torture to help him suck it up and do what he could through all the hours of the day he had to spend in all of it

Hi Sessis 👋 Jim Carrey is one of my favourite actors, and he's Canadian 👌. During the filming, they had to bring in a Navy SEAL to help Jim Carrey deal with the contact lenses he had to wear because they were so uncomfortable, he could barely work.

I just discovered your channel, absolutely loved your reaction! This is my absolute favorite Christmas movie, Jim Carrey was the perfect choice to play the Grinch! Also the joke about the Grinch's moms having the party with the big bowl of keys, it took me ages before i finally figured out what it meant. I'm glad you guessed it right away.

The year this came out my school had a costume day for World Book Day and I went dressed as the Grinch, even cut and coloured my hair green and got up early to paint my face, it looked exactly like him. The whole day kids who didn't even know it was a book first kept telling on me to the teachers for coming as a film character. Felt like a lot of effort just to get picked on. (and I didn't complain about the kid who was dressed as Obi Wan Kenobi)

A fun movie. Although nothing bets the original animated version from 1966. It was animated by the same person that did the old Bugs Bunny cartoons and narrated by Boris Karloff. It's only about thirty minutes long and tell the story in a better, much simpler way. It's pretty easy to find on the streaming services.

My favorite quote from the movie is still "We are going to die, we are going to die, first I´m going to puke and then we are going to die" Idk why but that line always get´s to me🤣. Especially the delivery of the line by Jim carry AND the swedish voice actor.

8 year old Grinch was portrayed by Josh Ryan Evans who was in his late teens during the porduction of How The Grinch Stole Christmas, though he was a short person (he had achondroplasia, a type of dwarfism). He sadly passed away in 2002, due to complications of congenital heart condition during a medical procedure at the age of 20.

I learned the other day that the kid grinch was played by a dwarf. Which passed away on the day his death scene aired on a show or movie called "passions" he was only 20 years old and died in 2002. I dont remember his name but ill search it again and post as a comment to myself. I just feel terrible that i didnt know he played sich a big part and didnt get alot of recognition from it. I love jim carrey but the kid grinch really hit home.

I read this sad but in a way beautiful theory (since it ended up good in the end) about Max. The theory is this: The theory is tha Max was one of those "I got you a suprise puppy for christmas" puppie but they got tired of him when he wasn´t a cute puppy anymore and tossed him down with the trash/ abandoned him and the grinch found him and took him in since animals don´t judge you by the way you look..

one thing many seem to miss is - all the who's Christmas trash and stuff they dont want gets sent through that shoot to the mountain where the Grinch lives, right? So..how did max get there? Sad to say that someone didn't want him anymore after getting them for christmas and threw that puppy into the shoot which caused the grinch to find him and take him in.. :/ showed that the grinch did have a a good heart regardless big or small to take max in

In Horton Hears A Who (another Dr. Seuss story which have been made into an animated movie by Blue Sky, the studio behind the Ica Age movies, and also stars Jim Carrey) the world that Whoville exist inside of a speck of dust. Since it is possible to speck of dust to get into a snowflake, my theory is that it becomes a snowflake and the Who World becomes winter and once it melts, it becomes spring and summer as well.

There’s a theory out there why Max is so loyal to the Grinch. Besides being a dog. Well it’s like the Grinch said. Everything he had in his cave came from the who’s garbage. Everything the who’s threw away….you see where I’m going with this. It implies Max’s original owners threw him away when they didn’t want him anymore.

Awesome reaction Sess! Love your videos! I recommend another Jim Carrey called Ace Ventura Pet Detective. Very funny animal movie. Or another Dr. Seuss movie: The Cat In The Hat or Horton Hears a Who? Also, did you know on this movie, that table cloth being ripped out from under the table was scripted to fail? But Jim Carrey compromised unexpected and just knocked everything off to save time and the director actually found it funny. Merry Christmas Sessis!

I am very very glad you enjoyed this movie! Thank you so much! This Christmas been a bittersweet one because it’s the first one without my mom here. This movie was a huge part of my childhood growing up. And it has 2 of my most favorite Christmas songs ever. If you’re interested in more Christmas films, I’d recommend Christmas with the Kranks, one of my mom’s favorite,(Tim Allen and Jaime Lee Curtis), Deck the Halls (Matthew Broderick and Danny Devito), The Polar Express, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square. 💚🤎❤️🤍💝🎄😈👧🏼🐶

Almost 9K views! Let's go! Sess, by your reactions, have you not seen the original? I would have advised watching the original cartoon first. It's one of my faves since I was a wee little one. You should give it a watch. This is a remake/reboot of that. You can see a lot of parallels to depression and introvertness in the Grinch. I always understood how he felt, because I was treated similarly as a kid. I still prefer the original cartoon though. Great job, and madam, have a very Merry Yule, and a Happy Holidays. I recommend you watching Illuminations The Grinch, another adaption of Dr. Seuss How the Grinch Stole Christmas, with Benedict Cumberbatch (Smaug and The Necromancer in The Hobbit Trilogy and Sherlock Holmes in Sherlock) as the voice of The Grinch. I also recommend the first adaption, the 30 minute Christmas Special by Chuck Jones (the legendary Looney Tunes director) with Boris Karloff as The Grinch and the Narrator, June Foray as Cindy Lou Who and Thurl Ravenscroft sining You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch. More Christmas movies you should watch are The Muppets Christmas Carol with The Muppets and Michael Kane as Scrooge, Mickey's Christmas Carol starring Scrooge McDuck, Mickey Mouse and Friends, and Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas with Chris Sarandon/Danny Elfman as Jack Skellington, Cathrine O'Hara as Sally, Ken Page as Oogie Boogie and Edward Ivory as Santa Claus.

There are extended scenes in this movie but they only show on TV. Only like on Family Freedom or ABC Family or something. I wish they would do it on DVD but I don't think they ever will

It feels like you can't comprehend the fantastical, with how you are trying to logic everything and get hung up on things not making sense. Such as the echo in the cave, instead of having a laugh at the little joke, you look more confused at it happening. You are the first person I've seen to be appropriately negative seeing kid Grinch breaking family heirlooms. Did you not know the original story before seeing this, if so, that is rare.

No I didn’t know the original story before watching this. I don’t think it’s very common story in Sweden. You’re coming off with a weird vibe suggesting there is something wrong with how I’m naturally are. How boring if we all were the same. I enjoyed the movie just fine. Hope you don’t treat others on KZfaq like this that might not be as secure on who they are as me.
