True testament to Spol's coaching here! Smart implementing Love into the starting 5. Once they had Denver guessing w/ Love in the lineup Miami was able to go back to their smaller shooting lineup. Miami seems like they took sequences and plays from Denver utilizing that 2 man game more! Spol truly knows his players inside and out!! I had Denver in 6 but...I wouldn't be shocked if this went 7 and Miami took it down. Hell maybe 6, never know!

Was actually expecting that this one is going to be about the Heats defense and how they managed to force the Nuggets play “unnatural” for them offense. But it seems like that wasn’t as special as the way they were creating open looks and getting shooters into the rhythm. And it makes so much sense as once the shooters get confidence in open shots they get better results on contested shots as the result. Just impressive. Finals are getting exciting. Thank you for your work.

Looks like the heat just told Bam to be a better version of Jokic. If Bam can make creative passes and then attack when the opportunity presents itself, he's just a more athletic version of Jokic. How can Denver defend that?

Bam did a good job of controlling the pace for a few key possessions though. It's similar to what Jokic does the entire game but Bam is just more athletic and can do more but like you say, he just doesn't do it and idk why

Great observation. Lhough, Bam is not as skilled as Jokic he’s good and fast enough to hurt Denver because their two best players are not good defenders. Miami offense forces all your players into the action. Can’t hide anyone . Jokic is getting attacked constantly off the dribble. He’s too slow for Miami. That’s why they constantly generate open looks. And , the best part it won’t stop. They lacked rim protection.

They had a 129 offensive rating, regardless of it anyone’s “acting like it was 30”, that’s clearly a problematic amount of offense for the opposition to deal with.

And it was like 12 points late also. Denver hit 3 late threes to make it closer. Denver won game one but actually needed to make adjustments. The only lineup change miami made was love. But they came with the same Xs and Os and this time they hit all the shots that they missed in game one. If Denver continues to go over the screens they will lose this series. They need to start going under the screens and make miami proves that they can hit pull-up threes. Weren’t they the worst three pt shooting team during the year?

@@HoopVenue Sure, and I’m not disagreeing with the observations, I’m just astounded by the vast acceptance that somehow Miami is an unstoppable juggernaut for losing one and barely winning the other. I get that Denver can and should be criticized but every single podcast or KZfaq channel is talking about a series that’s 1 - 1 like it’s 3 - 1. It’s excessive and also ignoring the insane officiating that took place too. The threes and defense by Miami were great and the disruptions in Nuggets offense were good but it literally almost wasn’t enough and nobody seems to want to acknowledge THAT

They exposed my ass. Lucky threes + the refs won them the game. They might steal 1 more by the end but only if Nuggets play really bad and Heat gets more cheap ref calls.

The heat were one bad 3 point penalty call away from the game being tied on the last possession The heat were one bad goaltend away from being up one on the last possession The heat were one bad 3 point penalty (cmon caldwell-pope) away from being tied on the last possession IF the nuggets had at least one of these plays not have a bad mistake, this game goes to ot or even the nuggets win. People are treating this game like the nuggets were crushed when that just wasn't the case.

Jokic is kinda a liability on defense. He plays great team defense which is fine but out on the perimeter against a center/forward like bam, hes gonna struggle, hes not the greek freak he cant recover like a giannis can in the paint. Then mpj and kcp chasing these heat shooters all night wears them out so in crunch time theyre chunking up anything playing sloppy undisciplined ball getting into foul trouble. Ehhh at some point if im mike malone and i fall down to 1-2 in the series, you gotta try small ball, sitting jokic on the bench. Edit. I called bam being the main peice for the heat and the key. I just didn't realize it was gonna take him being a jokic clone.
