Nothing feels like an Odyssey putter,I’ve tried ping,mizuno and Scotty’s since coming back to golf after 30 years and the Odyssey’s are brilliant.

I’ve had the evnroll 5.2 for a while now and I’m not even kidding, it has improved my game by an average of 6-8 strokes a round. It’s so stable. It feels great. Grip is incredible. Weight is distributed so well. I love it. I will never use another putter

Tried loads of putters over the decades, all different shapes, weights, lengths and price points. Picked up and tested a Spider X in the US at Christmas, a thing that would not have really entered my thinking. Wow! As long as I completely relaxed my arms and let the thing swing under its own weight, it’s like Harry Potter’s Wand. It did require a complete change of technique for me, and interestingly a 1” longer shaft too.

Don’t over look the LAB putters! I don’t mind a funky looking putter as long it works! I couldn’t miss with the LAB DF 2.1 at the store. Putted with it for way to long and was making everything!!! Seriously looking at putting one in the bag. But that price!!! 😅

You are correct in the amount of marketing jargon comming through on just about everything these days. Marketing departments are out of control. Spinsistency??? I wanted a new putter and went down to a well known retailer with all the brands. I wanted a Odyssey - tried Betanardi, Ping Heppler, Camerons and just picked up the Cleveland Elevado by chance. I really liked it but thought it was a fluke. Went back the next Saturday and repeated the process. Cleveland was the most stable and consistent. Simple mat black and white and easy to align. Great grip as well. Got it for about £120 and a year or so later it would be the one club I would not change.

I've got the 2022 most wanted mallet, the PXG bat attack and it is awesome, best putter I've had by a mile it's so stable and ticks every box for me!

Never thought I'd get a Cameron (as you say they're not known for mallets), but very happy with the Scotty Cameron cal Sonoma (2012) mid mallet I've been playing for a few months now, feel and aiming are wonderful. Honorable mentions: Original Ping B60, Bettinardi Inovai 6.0, Ping DS72. I'd like to try the LAB putter but the straight center shaft is off putting, would need a goose or plumbers neck heel shaft for it to look good at set up.

Currently have the Scotty Newport Fastback 2, Evnroll ER6 and Odyssey Tank Series 7. Use the SC for summer greens and the other two over the winter. The SC is my favourite for feel, quality and distance control but not that keen on the Odyssey as its micro hinge insert is too soft for my liking. I thought the Evnroll face was a gimmick until I played over the winter with it ..... The technology does work, keeping off centre putts on line. Amazing tech but less feel on the quicker greens so the Scotty is defintely the best for me. Bought them all at bargain prices at 50 to 65% of price new - you don't need to to buy new ... just get fitted once and then bend the shafts for lie and you're good to go.

The new odyssey rossie is huge! I have the previous OG and its smaller and yet the OG is bigger then its predecessors but perfect for me. the new 5k seems so weird to me how big it is.

I had a odyssey rossie 2 around 20 yrs ago. Was a brilliant putter. No mention of Sik or Cobra and their descending loft faces. I have a cobra and distance control is amazing

If Wilson name a model the Staff Model. That is the name that does fit in the upper echelons of famous golf clubs. If they name it that, Wilson are taking this golf club seriously and producing their highest quality product.

I like putters that have the white lines front and back. How they can be lined up for consistent swing. This works extremely well.

Ping PLD Milled is insanely beautiful for $679.99 Canadian. I was fitted and went for the Scottie Cameron Phantom X 7.5. $600.00 Canadian Wish I could have purchased both but THEY ALL make a beautiful product. I just love Golf!!!!!

Scotty cameron putters are pretty (some of them) but just not very friendly to use....I have had two fittings in the past couple of years where I went in thinking I was going to get a SC 7.5 and a 6.5 and bought something else after testing. Great content!

As a former Wilson Staff player, who played clubs that won more tournaments than any other club maker, what are you on about? And, how did I manage to putt so well with and Letters Golden Goose putter? I also used a Ray Cook m1 vibra groove, which I still play, just for fun. That was amallet putter.

Great stuff as usual guys! In your opinion, if you are on a budget (say 100-150) is it better to try to find a high end used putter or go find the best new putter in that range?

Definitely sticker shock looking at new putter prices (they seem to have gone through the roof). My first stop at the local golf mega store is the putting area, they usually have 50+ in the 'used' section. Plenty to choose from at reasonable prices and often current models at a decent discount. Bought my current Scotty Cameron at about 50% discount (but still $$$), it replaced the Ping B60 I bought in a thrift store for $1, which replaced the Bettinardi bought on ebay for $100+ (still have those in the collection). So plenty of options to save a buck - but I recommend you try it before you buy it. 🤣

They offered commentary on the My Golf Spy top 5 list and the fairly surprising results. If a Hyundai or a Ford made it onto a top 5 list of cars it would be worthy of comment too. But fear not, there are hundreds of putter reviews out there. They’ll tell you precisely zero about whether the putter would suit you, what spec you’ll need or whether you’ll like the feel but never mind eh.

@@CHuzz7777 And what did this one tell you?? That they haven't used the putters ?? Why not do the single little step of going to try out the putters on the list. Heck you don't even have to buy them, go to a store and try them out. At least some experience with them would make anything you say credible. This just seems lazy. If Hyundai or Ford made a car list I would still be embarassed to make public commentary about the lsit it if I hadn't at least test driven the car. Particularly when its not that hard and doesn't cost anything to test drive it. If your going to put yoursself out there the last you can do is put in the minimal effort required to make it decent.

@@mikecowell8327 They didn’t make the “We test the top 5 putters in the My Golf Spy list” video they made the “let’s chat about the top 5 putters in the My Golf Spy list” video as you or I might chat about it at the bar in the clubhouse. I might say to my mate “did you see that My Golf Spy putter list?” and he would reply “yeah, no Scotty in the list is a bit of a shock and that lab putter is properly fugly” etc with neither of us having hit any of the putters. This is okay… The funny thing is, this type of chat/opinion based videos are specifically designed to get people debating in the comments so by commenting with your disagreement, or perhaps more accurately expressing that you wish they’d made an entirely different video, you’ve inadvertently helped to promote it.

I would use the Cleveland and Callaway without a second thought. Tried putters from both brands and loved them. But I won't separate from TM DA'62 White Smoke Blade or my TM Spyder EX painted all black putters.

Big jump between 1 and 5 on the ratings on the list....the biggest thing with any putter is confidence and whether your comfortable with it.....fond memories of a Ram zebra putter from the 80's when I was a youngster....I've got a odyssey exo indianapolis putter at the moment which my mates say I'd be better branding cows with....😟 I like it though...⛳👍 thought the odyssey 1 looked the best ...the 2nd 1 would be a good and expensive doorstop...

Most putter shapes nowadays apart from the modern day mallets are Ping copies. Odyssey, Scotty, Taylormade the list goes on.

I played a Evnroll ev5 for 2 seasons and sold it for a Phantom just because I wanted a Scotty. The Evnroll was every bit as nice. I should have just kept it.

Scotty is an artist, not an engineer! Gueren Rife from Evnroll is an engineer. Scotty for the wanna be's, Evnroll or Wilson, Cleveland, etc for the podium.

I was surprised that the Cobra/SIK putters did not get a mention and don’t even appear in the list of putters tested by MGS. I currently use a Cobra Vintage, Nova, but also have a Odessey Rossie and another blade (20yr old). I have found the the Cobra putter to be an excellent putter over 5-10 feet. Putters are a very personal club as each person has a different opinion on what is a good putter. I don’t think these tests are of any value as to what is the best due to the variables of every golfer.

I stopped caring about what MGS say, the only useful thing I can remember in the last few years was their ball test - and that is only because I was trying to shortlist some balls to test outside the Titleist range. Despite some testing I have stayed in the Titleist range (although the Srixon Z Star Diamond was a close second)

Myspygolf takes themselves far to seriously for an opinion based "rating" I don't think any one putter is best for everyone. Hence there are many different shapes and sizes!!! My best putter so far in my Odessey white hot number 11... with the new super stroke shaft.

For the money Cleveland over the Wilson. Evenroll over the Lab. And Odyssey is #1. Personally i play a Cleveland but if a sweet deal on an Odyssey came around i would grab it up.

Not surprised to see a White Hot putter top. Scotties are hugely overrated in my opinion. My Ping Heppler was half the price of a Scottie and feels far superior off the face. They wouldn’t make my top 5 even if they were a quarter of their price.

Well, the Cameron shown is a ripoff of the Ping Answer. I know those are not mallets, but most people don’t think of Scotty Cameron first when talking about mallets.

I think Scotty Cameron putters are good but they benefit from the same marketing brainwashing as ‘nothing feels like a Mizuno’ when people run poles about the best feeing irons. There are loads of other irons using as soft or softer carbon steel than Mizuno that people probably haven’t even hit but they’re conditioned into claiming Mizuno are the softest. Same with SC putters, there have been many companies that make putters just as beautiful, just as high quality and even technological more advanced than SC but because they see huge numbers of them in tour pro’s bags on the PGAT (mainly because of sponsorship deals) they have the image that they are the best so people have a positive bias towards them.

I will never understand people buying something "like" something. Why would I ever buy something "like" a Scotty Cameron, or something like a Ping Anser when I can actually buy a damn Scotty Cameron! The price argument is what it is. If you want a cheap putter buy one. Hell, you can pick up a putter at the grocery store now for 10 bucks, but if you want a beautiful looking, feeling, and sounding putter you will be proud and excited to use it is going to cost you. Paying 100 or 150 dollars less for a putter that is supposed to be like a Scotty Cameron is just nonsensical to me. I paid 400 dollars for my Scotty Squareback 2 because I love it, and I will be happily using it for the next decade plus!

I don't mind promoting it. I've liked the other stuff I've seen (admittedly not a alot of them). This just seems lazy. The comment wasn't directed at you , but I don't mind the discussion at all. It was directed at them and maybe getting them to work a little harder and step up thier game. Maybe get to 10,00 0 subscribers, which granted you doon't care about, but im sure they do.

You haven’t tried any of these yet you’re passing judgement based on looks and marketing hype. This test was about how the putters scored when used by a sample of ordinary golfers (not pros) who don’t always hit a putt out of the middle of a putter. The highest performing made the top of the list and Scotty Cameron and Taylor Made just didn’t make it. It’s as simple as that.

Fyi, you guys really should try out putters from evnroll & lab. Yeah, very pricey, but the evnroll name is truth in advertising, and that lab doesn’t twist at all if you use a stroke without a lot of arc. Definitely at least as good as scotty cameron or bettinardi even if they arent common in the UK. And fyi, lab has an even uglier mallet putter with incredible moi that wasn't tested this year

Some of yall must be smoking crack because im pretty sure max homa just set a putting record with the scotty cameron phantom x...... Pretty sure justin thomas designed the phantom x 5.5 and the phantom x 7.5 was designed by tour pros........ Lmfao. @@robertcuomo7084 Adam Scott is a multi millionaire pro golfer. He didn't buy his and uses it as a tool to win and increase his wealth and profeesional standing. I pay for my gear, pay to play and care what my equipment looks like. For me it's way too expensive/ugly to consider and would be a crazy waste of bag space.

@@BruceBusby For those trying many many putters, I would think if they found something that betters what they have would welcome it. That holds more water imho than looks (the Mezz and Link aren’t that hideous honestly) and bag space to stop chasing their tails for others that really aren’t much different anyway. Adam Scott can use anything he wants and chose this. BTW, anyone can purchase whatever from pga superstore and get 90 days to try it and return it for full purchase price and get something else to replace it. And least we not forget that a driver now costing upwards of $500 and is used less frequently than a putter are bought by so many nowadays.
