This was way more easy to understand than those 3D animation videos.

B&W, no computer modeling, but the best explanation about the M1 mechanisms I have ever watched. 👏👏👏👏👏

Wow, with so many small moving parts I'm surprised it was so reliable

I was wondering what keeps the bolt back when you insert the clip. Answer: You'd better do it yourself!
@FLMKane Жыл бұрын
Well you do have to feed blood to your Garand to make it work. If there aren't any Nazis around you better feed it yourself!

POW bros GAMING! Civilian sold m1s, not military ones, force the shooter to operate the bolt manually after reloading. This was probably a conseguence to "garand thumbs", which wpuld have not helped the rigle being sold. Ww2 garands, used in the fields, will not need it

So why can't I hold the bolt back and top off?
@Laotzu.Goldbug5 жыл бұрын
You actually can top off a Garand with single rounds, just fine. However, you do have to hold the bolt back yourself, obviously you cannot fire at the same time

@@Laotzu.Goldbug actually you don’t have to hold the bolt back to top off the garand

The way you do it is actually release the clip but not out of the action. Then, you top off and then push the clip back into the rifle. There is also a way to load it without a full clip (single load). The key is to load an empty clip first, load it with rounds like any magazine, and then push down the clip until it engages the operating rod catch. Also, keep the bolt held to the rear with the blade of your hand.
