And probably the most important, without Ricky Rubio, we wouldn’t have gotten CP3. How? Well, CP3 said in a podcast that he had his eyes on returning to the west coast to compete for a ring, AND be close to his family who live in LA. But he didn’t want to go back to the clippers. So that leaves the Lakers, Kings, Warriors, and the Suns (Pacific division). The warriors couldn’t afford him, the Kings weren’t relevant enough, so that leaves the Lakers and the Suns. I truly believe he only chose the Suns because he saw the potential of Dbook finally playing with a true PG (Rubio). Knowing CP3, he knew that he was way better than Rubio, even at his age. Also, because of Ricky, the Suns raised their floor high enough so that they’d catch the attention of CP3 as a legitimate team that could contend. Who knows… if Ricky didn’t come to the Valley, maybe the Suns have another failed season as a 13-15th seed in the West, which would make Dbook more restless and might even request a trade? Who knows… one things for sure, THE SUNS ARE ROLLING RN! LETS GOOOOO

@@TylerRosell Agreed! Rubio bought in to Monty's system and was also a decent defender with a constantly developing three ball. Before his injury this year, we saw him flourish in Cleveland, pulling an OKC CP3 past his prime.

Weirdly enough there's reports saying Halliburton didn't want to play for any team besides the Kings (which is probably why he fell so low in the draft) and the Kings ended up trading him anyways. Ouch.

Yep. Goran was the fan favorite. I was so pissed when they traded him. Signing IT was a mistake in the first place, and they should have dealt Bledsoe for a wing. But hey, it all worked out cause this Suns team is all any fan could hope for.
