#manipur has been embroiled in an armed ethnic conflict for over a year now. More than 60,000 ordinary citizens have been affected. But, who among the powerful is to blame for it? The Reporters’ Collective member Angana Chakrabarti dug-in for months to bring out hard evidence. Of state complicity that indicts the state chief minister, N Biren Singh as well as the armed groups, political actors and drug lords cutting across ethnic boundaries. She explains why religion was not a factor behind the conflict. Watch to find out more.

The Kuki have encroached all land, hill valley foothills. They had a plan to build up population in Manipur by settling Burmese Kuki and later demand for separate homeland. District reorganisation and SoO with Kuki militants were the brainchild of Kuki bureucrats and ministers.

I don’t have idea who/which community started this conflict but It’s clear that Government of Manipur is irresponsible and doesn’t know how to run the government.Manipur is one of the most sensitive area in case of insurgency, there is a record of communal clash in the history of Manipur , government should have been aware and maintain of the conflict preventive measures. CM is claiming their government is innocent and were just focusing on development, well it’s totally non sense when you’re a CM of Manipur you should know how sensitive the state is

In the beginning of the conflict on 3rd May 2023, the Manipur police had a Kuki DGP & 2 other seniormost officers of ADGP level were of Kuki tribe. The then Kuki DGP took over from another Kuki DGP. So ....

There is atrocities against Dalits even in so-called progressive states. Dalit Sikhs have faced land grab and honour killings by Jatt Sikhs, in Punjab. In Bengal, Sheikh Shahjahan case, was actually about tribal land grab by TMC goon. In Tamil Nadu, progressive Dravidian state, human faeces put in water tank of Dalits, hooch tragedy victims are Dalits, BSP political leader killed in broad daylight. Normalisation has happened in places, where people are smug thinking everything is perfect. In UP, Bihar, no one is in denial. But Dalit do have voice in the form of BSP, JDU, HAM and various small parties. The fact that BJP can lose in Ayodhya is a sign of functioning democracy. But atrocities in so-called progressive states, can be hidden by distracting attention towards BJP, is a sign of fascism.

How conveniently Assam Riffle leave the illegal migrants under the carpet which happen under their nose!. When such a huge migration happens in small state like Manipur, and when thousands of villages cropped up in protected forest land, these people had to rely on easy but illegal ways to earn money, i.e. drugs. AR inaction to drug trafficking shows unclear motive along with sporadic incidents of involvement makes things worst. Just like EAO in Myanmar, does India maintain such armed groups in Manipur in the form of Kuki militants, hence action against it would mean parley to foreign policy.

Congress Leaders are trying to divert the core issue of bringing normalcy in Manipur protecting the indigenous Meities and other communities with proper protection of the lntegrity of Manipur state and Integrity of India. The demand of the Meiteis are 1.To implement NRC and to identify the illegal Kuki immigrants and others .2. To bring normalcy in Manipur so that the indigenous Meiteis, Kukis ,Nagas etc can coexist in a normal peaceful life as we have been coexisting since many years but without the disturbance of illegal immigrant Kukis and others coming to Manipur after 1951. 3. To construct border fencing of 398 km long Manipur- -- Mayamar border . 4. Others as submitted by different groups of Meiteis to related authorities and Congress leaders. The main demands of the Kukis are 1. Not to implement NRC and not to identify Kuki immigrants and others. 2. Separate administration or union territory as a settlement of bringing normalcy in Manipur . 3 . Not to construct border fencing of 398 km long Manipur ---Mayamar border fencing. 4. Others as submitted. Congress party is claiming to bring Normalcy in Manipur with political and administrative reconciliation settlement policies . Behind the Screen Congress party is encouraging the demand of the Kukis for a Separate Administration or Union territory, not to implement NRC and not to identify Kuki immigrants and others who are coming to Manipur state after 1951 . Congress is trying to befool the indigenous Meitei and other communities using the English words such as " Reconciliation policies of political and administrative settlement satisfactory to all the people of the state " encouraging the Kukis as if Congress is in favor of granting Separate administration or union territory , ( As in the Congress Manifestos related with North East -- 18th Lok Sabha Election). Manipur violence will not end until and unless the congress leaders stop politicizing the Manipur violence. Double standard statements of congress party ( to respective communities ,Meiteis and kukis) is the act of adding fuel to the fire ( Manipur Violence). Indigenous Meitei and other communities of Manipur will appreciate wholeheartedly if Opposition Congress and other members raise in the Lok Sabha with practical sincere valuable suggestions to bring Normalcy in Manipur with the protection of the indigenous Meitei and other communities protecting the Integrity of Manipur state having only a small area of 22327sq.km. which is less than the half of the area of a District having an area of 45674 Sq.km. (Kachchh District of Gujarat state). Manipur is a tiny Hill State of India. Save Hill State Manipur . Save indigenous Meitei and other communities. Save India. Jai Ima Manipur ,Jai hind.

It is similar to what I have known before. When I was with Northeast people I could see these hints of clashes among themselves about which they weren't very outspoken. Of course they were my friends and we were students then. Now I am just an outcast. But my relationship with them got bad because of such political views and their own radicalism which was charged from time to time by the biggest sister among them. It's completely my own thoughts which are left not discussed with any other.
