Definitely a lot of 20/20 hindsight going on. Things were going good in 1928 and people didn't know the stock market crash was a coming, the incumbent Republicans probably seemed like a good choice if you aren't abusing future knowledge.

Not to mention Nixon getting blown out by Kennedy in 60, if you aren't abusing future "Nixon is a crook" knowledge he's the incumbent VP of a super popular pres during good times. It's at least as close as historical if you are not abusing the Nixon is a crook knowledge.

Mate I voted for Robert La Follette in 1924 (hypothetically) I'm voting Al Smith
@notthebeastinus2786
@notthebeastinus2786 27 күн бұрын
Gonna be honest, Al Smith dodged a bullet by losing. The Great Depression was going to happen no matter what, as the rest of the world was going through. It ruined Hoover's reputation. The reason why it was so bad in the US was because Hoover's and FDR's policies exaggerated the effects. If Al Smith had won the democratic nomination, he probably would've resolved it within his first term and it would have been remembered as a recession.

Well if you are more anti establishment than pro (insert party here) Obama was less of an establishment Democrat than John McCain or Mitt Romney was an establishment Republican and Trump was definitely less of an establishment Republican than Hillary or Biden is an establishment Democrat So in short someone who voted for Obama and Trump probably doesn't like either Trump or Obama as much as they hated McCain, Romney, Hillary, and Biden

I just think it's funny that people know now that Hoover screwed up with the Great Depression, and that Wilson was a bad choice in hindsight so neither of them win.

Maybe because he started the Red Scare that Mr. “You can’t kill an idea by shooting at it” Dewy strongly opposed on grounds of fundamental human liberties. Either that or his more pro-business economic policies.

In this 15 minutes i see only 9 changes for 128 years, that's worrying how these generations know history well, and that changes are: - #1. *1912.* Theodore „Teddy” Roosevelt Jr. *WIN* (September 14th 1901. - March 3rd 1909. & March 4th 1913. - March 3rd 1917.) - #2. *1916.* Charles Evans Hughes Sr. *WIN* (March 5th 1917. - March 3rd 1921.) - #3. *1928.* Alfred Emanuel Smith *WIN* (March 4th 1929. - March 3rd 1933.) - #4. *1948.* Thomas Edmund Dewey *WIN* (January 20th 1949. - January 20th 1953.) - #5. *1968.* Hubert Horatio Humphrey Jr. *WIN* (January 20th 1969. - January 20th 1973.) - #6. *1992.* George Herbert Walker Bush *WIN* (January 20th 1989. - January 20th 1997.) - #7. *2000.* Albert Arnold Gore Jr. *WIN* (January 20th 2001. - January 20th 2005.) - #8. *2004.* John Forbes Kerry *WIN* (January 20th 2005. - January 20th 2009.) - #9. *2020.* Donald John Trump *WIN* (January 20th 2017. - January 20th 2025.) **_And honestly in my personal opinion i don't agree with the presidential election of 1976. because for me Gerald Rudolph Ford Jr. win_**
